Do you know what the difference between between kinky and perveted is?

Kinky is using a feather ,like Jm did today, Perverted is using the whole chicken, which is what Nurmi will do.

Okay, since it's been brought up...

The ME's report was not a 'typo', folks. Any time there is a wound or abnormality noted in an autopsy it is described in detail. If the dura mater had been torn the dimensions, exact location and characteristics of the tear would have been noted just like with all the other wounds. Noting "the dura mater was intact" was not a typo or a matter of checking the wrong box on the form. And for Dr. Hunky to look at the jury with those wide innocent eyes and say "oops, I hadn't noticed...must have been a typographical error" absolutely floored me. How stupid does he think those jurors are?

And I noticed Mr. Martinez backed right off the whole subject today...not one mention of 'frontal lobe' or 'immediate incapacitation' anywhere to be found, was there?

Absolutely! I agree with you, and I predict the defense will use this issue exhaustively.

Unlike shrinks who all have their own personal 'interpretations'.
I know this is probably over & done with too, but the whole subject got so many comments I had to respond. You guys are all 100% correct in saying forensic evidence doesn't lie. However - some (I said SOME) evidence is just as open to interpretation as psychological assesments can be. The evidence doesn't present itself. It has to be assessed & interpreted by an all too fallible human. Human's, as we all know, can sometimes be prone to tiredness, stress, overwork, distraction, illness - the list goes on. Some become complacent in their work, some are & always were incompetent, some are so puffed up with arrogance that they believe they're infallible & fuckup as a result.

I'm not saying any of the above DO apply to the prosecution witnesses in THIS case. But the fact is that they CAN apply to the prosecution witnesses in any case. There's a disturbing trend amongst some in this thread to attribute greater credibility to witnesses based solely on which side they appear for. The truth is that if Coconut's BOOMS had hurt the defense instead, there'd have been pages of comments rejoicing the hit they'd taken.

If forensics couldn't be screwed just as much as psych evidence, there wouldn't be so many overturned convictions. The Lindy Chamberlain Case (Aus), the Birmingham 6 & Guildford 4 (U.K), the West Memphis 3 are the first to come to mind. & NO I'm not saying Jodi's the innocent victim of a setup. But you need to be very careful what you ignore in a prosecution case. What you think is "no big deal because they're guilty anyway" is exactly the sort of shit that leads to all these wrongful convictions & there are LOTS.

It's a death penalty case. A fuckup on a report IS a big deal. We can say Jodi's actions will get her the DP & not an M.E's typo, but what if he'd done the same in a different trial & they really did have the wrong person? He didn't know the other evidence against Jodi when he made that report. What if they'd really fucked up & arrested someone else? & almost the whole case against an innocent person hinged on that report? & it could have. He had no way of knowing back then.
There seems to be a belief that just being on trial is proof enough of guilt, & just appearing for the prosecution is proof enough that every word & opinion is an unarguable fact.

On the flipside, appearing for the defense , at least in this thread = instant idiot - just add water. If Dr G had appeared for the "good" side, his "bumbling" would've been cute & he would've received a kind of " brilliant, but absent-minded professor" assesment of his intelligence instead. Coconut is right to draw attention to these types of fuckups & you all would've totally jumped on it if the defense had done it instead. This thread is really skewed. & it scares me for future trials because I guess this is like a small test sample of public opinion. Again, not everyone here is 100% pro-prosecution 100% of the time, but if all you do is read a few random pages of this thread, chances are that's the overwhelming impression you'd take from us. Please take an open mind to future trials that interest you my fellow posters, because there is nothing in this world so useless as a posthumous pardon.

(& yeah, I know, I'm sure you don't call it a posthumous pardon, sorry, it's a throwback to my convict scum history & I can't remember how you guys refer to it )[/QUOTE]

You know, you're completely right, and yes that error in Dr. Horne's report is a problem. And also I've called Dr. G a fool, and I'll admit I'd probably wouldn't have said that if he'd been prosecution. I guess because I know so certainly Stabby's guilty of premed and everything and I've considered the facts of the case, the DT's expert witnesses just irritate me when trying to say it's all otherwise. But I don't think ill of the def expert witnesses right off the bat, once they start talking for awhile they just don't come off as credible and everything and what they think just does not apply to what really happened and what is up with Stabby, well to me anyway.

I'm also not one to immediately think someone's guilty if they're on trial. When I started following this trial, I remember it was when that rentcar guy was up on the stand, and I didn't know what to think at first. I just listened to everything, taking it in, then Stabby took the stand, and after listening to her for awhile, it soon became apparent to me she was lying and killed Travis in premeditated cold blood.

Sorry guys, I know the threads moving really fast & I'd look it up myself if I knew where to, but..a few people here were able to find out how many psych witnesses politely declined the "opportunity" to appear for the defense, right? Do we know how many forensic scientists of any variety, were approached? & if there really weren't ANY, would that be a huge issue on appeal? I'm assuming they DID make approaches & the defense rejected them because they said Jodi's version of events couldn't be supported. But seeing as some of you were able to get the number of psych witnesses approached, did anyone also see numbers fof forensic witnesses?

I posted this in the meme/pic thread but wanted to bring this particular photo here. I just think its creepy. I wish NG had asked Dan Freeman about this photo to see if he could remember why she was making this gesture at TA. I'm sure it was just joking around but its eerie considering less than a year later, TA was dead with a bullet in his head

Charles Manson (and all his co-defendants) DID get the death penalty. Then, after they were sentenced, CA decided nobody should get the death penalty ever, so everyone on death row was converted to life in prison with the possibility of parole. Then later, CA reinstated the death penalty, but it was considered too unfair to reapply it to people who had their sentences reduced. Which is why Charlie and his girls (and boy) get to have parole hearings. However, I predict none of them will ever be paroled. It's been almost 45 years now, and still none have been paroled, not even Atkins, who had a terminal brain tumor and could no longer even walk. She died in prison.

Of course a fuck up on a report matters. But what also matters is what kind of fuck up. How big a fuck up. There is a big difference in a typo and using the wrong fingerprint, or contaminated DNA. Especially a typo where everything else in that report that refers to the gunshot does say the bullet entered the brain, and the physical evidence also supports that. So in this case it very clearly was just a typo.

Would it be better if Jodi (or someone like her) walked free because of a typo? Would that seem more just?

I don't want any innocent person convicted. I would never say that just being charged with a crime is proof of guilt. The American justice system bends over backwards to protect defendants rights and treat them fairly. Look at all the hundreds of posts on this thread complaining that the defendant has far too many rights and gets away with too much. American laws absolutely err on the side of the accused.

Nothing unfair has happened to the defendant in this case. She has not been treated unfairly, she has had a shockingly expensive defense paid for by the taxpayers, the judge has continually ruled on many things in a way that favors Jodi and protects her rights, etc, etc. Jodi is not the victim here. Nothing unjust has happened to her, typo or no typo.

I find his language and mentality coarse, especially for an attorney. A lawyer works with words like a builder works with bricks. His analogies are half-formed or needlessly obscure (wildebeast? how about 'stampede' so they are sure to understand). He often launches into a sentence he can't complete without turning to passive voice or awkward wordings. He overemphasizes the few five dollar words he uses and fumbles the subsequent words. He's also way too preoccupied with the dirty aspects of their sex life.

Martinez talks and acts more like a cop than a slick lawyer. Probably because he hangs out with cops and has that mentality. He would be better served to use simpler arguments and avoid contrived phrasings.

I dread Nurmi's closing argument. On the other hand, he is probably awake and practicing in front of the bathroom mirror right this second. Martinez has another go at it after Nurmi. I'm expecting some drama.

I love that lady! I've been following her blog since the Casey Anthony trial, she is hilarious.

  19. #21494
I just picture her SMILING as she stabbed Travis. A sharp knife wouldn't really "hurt" combined with shock. I imagine travis thinking, "Wha? Wait. Are you serious? Did you just stab me?? Are you seriously stabbing me right now?!? Whoa, this is serious - oh shit! You're trying to kill me!" I seriously think it wouldn't really register, until the 8th or 9th knife wound. (I've been assaulted without warning before, and it really does take a sec to realize what's actually happening) By that time, he's too weak to fight back, and just tries to get away. He probably didn't even realize what was happening until it was too late.

Or just hand her over to me and televise a new reality show, where I torture her to the extreme that would make what happened to Travis look like a splinter in a toe. First, I would punch her in her stupid face, until my hand swells from breaking my own bones and knuckles. Then, I would slowly slice up her epidermis in strategic places with a dull, rusty blade, and pour salt and draino into her wounds. I would cut her ugly lips off, and poke out her eyes with a stick - just for pretending to need glasses. Then I would smash said glasses into glass-dust and grind that into her empty eye-sockets and spit in her hair.

I'd have to get creative to make it last at least as long as her trial did. I would give her barely enough food and water (urine) to sustain her. I better get some sort of gag, so her voice won't work. Time for her to lose her hair and those ugly-ass bangs. Instead of wasting time with scissors, let's burn it off. I'd spray her head with just a little bit of gasoline to burn through the scalp a little bit. I'm going to need a tazer set to full-blast every five minutes. Yes!

I'm going to need to burn all her artwork and any manifestos she might try to sell. I'll reenact the scene from "Reservoir Dogs" where Michael Madson cuts that guy's ear off. Both ears, and then cauterize the holes with gasoline and fire.

I want to pour a bucket of leeches into a bathtub, and have her lie in it. I need to find a way to get bot-flies to put larvae inside every ince of her skin. Feed her tapeworms. I read a nasty story about a guy who put a vicious eel inside his rectum, that ate its way through his intestines - that's almost too nice for the likes of Jodi Arias, and may cause death too quickly, so maybe some baby eels, with sharp teeth.

I realize these things I wish to do to her are illegal, and so I hereby officially state that I'm only joking. Ha ha ha, I'm such a joker. I hope it's not illegal to think these things, and write them down on the internet. I'm willing to take that chance though. They'll never catch me. I'll rent a car and burglarize my grandparents house and buy gas cans so no jury will ever convict me.

I think we should feed her to Jeffery Dahmer. (is that guy still around?) Or someone similar. Someone who will do sick things that even I wouldn't do. Someone who will serve up some justice in a gruesome and horrific way.

I only want her to have the death penalty, because her time in prison would be much harder than LWOP. In reality, I believe death is a gift, even though it'll be something to scare her and eat at her psyche for years. I'd rather her have a fate much worse than death, which would involve LWOP in solitary confinement with no amenities and regular torture sessions and lesbian rapings.

I hate how she'll have HOPE, at all - planning her appeals and preoccupying her thoughts with hopes of a chance. Her thoughts should be 100% focused on her crime and her punishment. No books. No little pencils. No release of any distractions, what-so-ever! I'm serious! The punishment should fit the crime, and this was insane. Her lies after the murder should be punished as well. Fuck that stupid piece of shit hooker. Make her pay like no one else, ever.

She actually PLANNED to get away with it. She thought people can mutilate others without remorse and then crucify the deceased's reputation and put their family through a living hell. This woman has done far worse than what's on the surface. She's worse than a racist nazi pedophile rapist on bath salts. Worse, I tell you.

I know, serial posting but I have to give a shout-out to Dr. Geffner here. He seems to be the one who picked up on the dura mater being intact on the ME's report and pointed it out to the DT, and informed them the bullet could not have penetrated the brain without disrupting this membrane. It looked to me like this was a last-minute addition to Wilmott's re direct yesterday and Martinez obviously wasn't aware of it because he had been going full-bore with the frontal lobe/immediate incapacitation line (which was immediately dropped after this.)

So props to Dr. Geffner. He is no fool.

Oh for crying out loud. He said in his report that the anterior fossa was penetrated. That means that the area housing the frontal lobes was penetrated. You cannot have that be penetrated unless the dura mater was also penetrated. His medical report had a mistake, but it's not like he didn't talk about the gunshot wound and describe it in other areas of the report.

    Nice try though.

Naked with an athletic tube sock over his junk like the Red Hot Chili Peppers? Always works for me.

You know how Jean Casarez had a prior career as popstar Jean LeGrand? Let me know if you recognize a smooth daddy in this video, before he cut his hair for law school. Consider it a closing argument preview.
