That emptiness that she feels inside will drive her insane when she can't fill it with something or someone. She'll blow up like a balloon. She won't even be recognizable after a year. And don't worry. She'll not make a dime off of anything after she's convicted.

Juan was masterful at bringing home Travis' story. Not Jodi's fanciful lies. The weight of that responsibility has got to be tremendous. I'm glad that he's getting the recognition that he really, really deserves. Jodi couldn't have acted more guilty today with her smirks and shaking her head. If you were being accused falsely for such a heinous crime, how devastated would you feel? How completely defeated would you look? I would imagine anyone would be terrified! She couldn't have been more guilty. I loved every minute of her insanely bitchy attitude.

    Juan was fantastic.

I swear I thought I saw Nurmi thumbing through a Skymall catalog today.
That's an improvement over picking his nose and playing with his junk.

    So it will be:

Poor pitiful Jodi, she was abused as a kid,
Then all her boyfriends were mean to her and cheated and abused her in various ways,
Then she met Travis the pervert who immediately forced her to convert to Mormonism and have lots of buttsecks,
Travis manipulated her, and manipulated her, then she found out he was cheating, so she dumped him,
But Travis kept manipulating Jodi and forced her to move to Arizona, more sex, Travis yells at her,
Then more manipulation of innocent Jodi by evil kinky Travis, and yelling
Then Travis gave her an angel ornament while they put boxes in the attic,
But Jodi forgot it and had to go back and get it right away because otherwise evil, vicious Travis would have been furious,
Jodi catches him whacking off to little boy pics,
    Travis starts abusing Jodi physically,
    Pedophile,
Sex with Jodi that she didn't like,
    Pedophile and kinky,
Sex with Jodi that she didn't like,
    Abuse, sex, pedo, abuse, sex,
    Anal anal anal anal,
    Jodi moves back to Yreka,
    Phone sex, anal, pedo, anal,
    Weird coincidence (stolen gun),
Jodi plans innocent trip to CA,
    Weird coincidence,
    Weird coincidence,
Weird coincidence, weird coincidence, weird coincidence,
Travis forces Jodi to divert to Mesa,
Weird coincidence, weird coincidence, weird coincidence,
Evil Travis gets angry over CDs,
Evil Travis gets angry again over dropped camera,
Evil Travis attacks innocent Jodi in murderous rage,
Innocent victim Jodi forced to defend herself,
    Victim Jodi goes into fog,
Victim Jodi wakes up near AZ border,
Weird coincidence, weird coincidence, weird coincidence,
Victim Jodi lies so as not to de-edify Travis, or because she is in a fog, or both, or whatever.
Not to mention the the Spiderman underwear and the ugly shorts/granny panties she had made for herself

I expect to hear a lot of three whole wonder stories and Whoredoms! Lot's of Whoredoms!

Don't forget the Trans Global Amnesia or did the defense lose that along the way?

I thought JM was really smart to emphasize the word NO today.

No, no, no! She didn't lie, she constructed an ALTERNATE REALITY because she was too TRAUMATIZED to deal with the real reality! Have you forgotten Dr.Dick's testimony? All those poor traumatized murderers? The more violent the crime, the more traumatized they are, the poor dears?

They have used pentobarbital. From the Wiki page

The US state of Texas executed its first death row inmate with a single lethal injection of the sedative pentobarbital on July 18, 2012. Yokamon Hearn, 33, was convicted for the carjacking and murder of a Dallas stockbroker in 1998.[9] The sole use of Pentobarbital in U.S is set to become more widespread after several states, including Ohio, Arizona, Idaho and Washington made the decision to switch following shortages of the Pancuronium bromide, a muscle relaxant previously used as one component in a 3-drug cocktail.[10]
The Danish manufacturer of pentobarbital, Lundbeck, expressed displeasure at this use of their product, and on July 1, 2011, announced they would block sales of the drug to U.S. prisons that carry out the death penalty.
Lundbeck adamantly opposes the distressing misuse of our product in capital punishment.[11]
They explained this decision with their commitment to UN human rights principles. [12]
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentobarbital

Dunno about Pheno, and it's Wiki page doesn't state anything about being used for lethal injection. Wiki is the extent of my google search.

there is a big legal battle going on - here in california too, that the present drug cocktail causes suffering, i think they used it and it took a really long time to work last time, so they are coming up w/ a different cocktail that works better, causes no suffering, and distributed, and until thats complete, no one is getting any more supplies

Its interesting to think what the defense is going to come up with tomorrow

juan basically killed everything they brought up so far today, i dont know how the jury will be able to concentrate on what they have to say

    Damn Dr. Drew!

Ok, what do any of us know about a girl named Ashley who lives with Stabby in Palm Desert after Darryl Brewer moved out of their house?

Not the same Ashley mentioned in the police report.

no executions in Cal since 2007... crazies like Manson and Richard Ramirez are exempt. Either follow thru and make it meaningful or abolish it... that's IMO

I think they are spontaneous. I think he is super bright and very witty.

Personally, I loved the 'squealing cat' quote. It was a low blow, but it was just, imo.

I also thought Juan's barely touching on the sex was a smart move. I think the jurors are as totally sick of hearing endless details about the sex as we are. So Juan will have mostly stayed away from it, and when he did discuss it, he did not use super graphic terms. I predict that Nurmi will be all about the sex, and will repeat and repeat using the most graphic terms possible. Which will turn off the jury even more. Which will not help Jodi. Fine by me, have at it Nurms.

[QUOTE;3406791]Whoa... who has a dog in this fight? Horni or Jodi? He's gonna compromise his career & reputation over this 1 case he has nothing to gain from? Unlike the defense witnesses he didn't volunteer to come be paid to gain money & recognition. He was supoenaed to speak for Travis' body - the body doesn't lie. Unlike shrinks who all have their own personal 'interpretations'.[/QUOTE]

I know this is probably over & done with too, but the whole subject got so many comments I had to respond. You guys are all 100% correct in saying forensic evidence doesn't lie. However - some (I said SOME) evidence is just as open to interpretation as psychological assesments can be. The evidence doesn't present itself. It has to be assessed & interpreted by an all too fallible human. Human's, as we all know, can sometimes be prone to tiredness, stress, overwork, distraction, illness - the list goes on. Some become complacent in their work, some are & always were incompetent, some are so puffed up with arrogance that they believe they're infallible & fuckup as a result.

I'm not saying any of the above DO apply to the prosecution witnesses in THIS case. But the fact is that they CAN apply to the prosecution witnesses in any case. There's a disturbing trend amongst some in this thread to attribute greater credibility to witnesses based solely on which side they appear for. The truth is that if Coconut's BOOMS had hurt the defense instead, there'd have been pages of comments rejoicing the hit they'd taken.

If forensics couldn't be screwed just as much as psych evidence, there wouldn't be so many overturned convictions. The Lindy Chamberlain Case (Aus), the Birmingham 6 & Guildford 4 (U.K), the West Memphis 3 are the first to come to mind. & NO I'm not saying Jodi's the innocent victim of a setup. But you need to be very careful what you ignore in a prosecution case. What you think is "no big deal because they're guilty anyway" is exactly the sort of shit that leads to all these wrongful convictions & there are LOTS.

It's a death penalty case. A fuckup on a report IS a big deal. We can say Jodi's actions will get her the DP & not an M.E's typo, but what if he'd done the same in a different trial & they really did have the wrong person? He didn't know the other evidence against Jodi when he made that report. What if they'd really fucked up & arrested someone else? & almost the whole case against an innocent person hinged on that report? & it could have. He had no way of knowing back then.
There seems to be a belief that just being on trial is proof enough of guilt, & just appearing for the prosecution is proof enough that every word & opinion is an unarguable fact.

On the flipside, appearing for the defense , at least in this thread = instant idiot - just add water. If Dr G had appeared for the "good" side, his "bumbling" would've been cute & he would've received a kind of " brilliant, but absent-minded professor" assesment of his intelligence instead. Coconut is right to draw attention to these types of fuckups & you all would've totally jumped on it if the defense had done it instead. This thread is really skewed. & it scares me for future trials because I guess this is like a small test sample of public opinion. Again, not everyone here is 100% pro-prosecution 100% of the time, but if all you do is read a few random pages of this thread, chances are that's the overwhelming impression you'd take from us. Please take an open mind to future trials that interest you my fellow posters, because there is nothing in this world so useless as a posthumous pardon.

(& yeah, I know, I'm sure you don't call it a posthumous pardon, sorry, it's a throwback to my convict scum history & I can't remember how you guys refer to it )

ETA thankyou crickets!! typo??? THAT was a typo?? Seriously?? That was an entire SENTENCE & it doesn't require ANY twisting to use it for the benefit of her defense. Wow. Coconuts only error was in neglecting to place the word supersonic before the word BOOM.

there are some things that the defense will bring for sure and that they will try to twist to their advantage creating doubt:
The mistake in the ME report (they will say he lied),
Flores' first statement when he indicated the gunshot was first (oh yeah, they will never let that go)
    DeMarte's inexperience,
they will try to indicate that Stabby NEVER said she returned the gas can to the same store (which in fact she did), but that might create doubt
the "mean" email where he calls her names (this is like the gold mine for their entire defense)
I predict tomorrow will be nasty...

Well, did you notice he did manage to sneak the K-Y in...couldn't quite resist that! I suspect the Prosecutor might be a teensy bit kinky away from court. He seemed to dwell on the whole anal thing a bit more than necessary...
