Nah, I think she'd actually love to have her handiwork plastered over the walls. Remember the interrogation tapes? She kept asking to see the pics of Travis many times. And that time on the stand, I remember she was like peeking through her fake tears at the pics.

Stabby looked like a petulant teenager as JM finished his Closing. There was such a dramatic change in her demeanor and expression from the beginning of the day. It must be dawning on her that she is "losing". She was so busy playing juvenile games throughout the trial that she lost sight of the enormity of the evidence against her. Stabby underestimated JM and got a rude awakening as he finished his strong Closing Argument. I finally felt some measure of gratification seeing something in her expression that shows she gets just how truly fucked she is. I hate her superior attitude, her creepy stares, and most of all her ridiculous assumption that she was going to get away with anything less than M1.

Something happened during the lunch break at the trial.

During the morning session, Martinez was the angry little general and not making such great points. After lunch, he came out mellow and dialed down the sarcasm. He was talking softly and referring to the evidence, making quick points and doing so much better.

Do you think a bronzed up trial groupie gave him a bj in chambers during the break? Just to clear his mind? That is the only plausible explanation.

I also wouldn't have a problem if she was sentenced to death but was never put to the death by the state and died on her own inside her death row cell, but I'm not a tax paying citizen of AZ, otherwise I might. I read in the beginning of this that the state of AZ has only one lethal injection shot left and like 100+ on death row, so she very well may never be put to death even if sentenced to it.
Yep. If she's sentenced to the DP she'll be on death row for probably 20 years in the appeals process. I'm sure they'll come up with an alternative method by then. But in the mean time she's living in solitary, only leaving her cell for 1 hour a day. That in itself would be worth it. Even if she dies on death row before being put to death.
LWOP she would be in general population and enjoy a lot more benefits that she doesn't deserve. But I have a feeling that is what she'll get.

I didn't think it was fair of the judge to keep court in session so late last night, knowing that JM would need to be preparing for his closing argument. But, apparently I was worried for no reason, because he did a great job today anyway.

I only wish he would have reminded the jury of Jodi's slip when she was explaining she lied in the beginning because she was trying to protect Travis's "ego", when she meant to say "reputation". I know that's not a critical point for JM to make, but it was one of my favorite moments of the trial. Jodi had obviously prepared for that question from Nurmi and screwed it up. And referring to Travis's ego, by mistake, sheds light on how she really thinks of him. Her lies had nothing to do with protecting Travis by any stretch of the imagination.

I don't think I'll be able to listen to Nurmi's closing arguments - - just too sickening. But, I'll be sure to tune back in when JM is back up to bat. Still have knots in my stomach worried about what the jury will do. You never know. To me, it should be a very simple decision...she is soooooo guilty of Murder in the 1st Degree.

A nationwide shortage of sodium thiopental, an anesthetic that is part of the three-drug cocktail used in lethal injections, has thrown capital punishment in the United States into disarray, delaying executions and forcing the change of execution protocols in several states.
The shortage of sodium thiopental has forced the 35 states using lethal injection to scramble for any remaining stock and to explore alternatives.
?Many states will have to change their method of execution, which means regulatory changes that have to be approved and lengthy court challenges,? says Richard Dieter, executive director of the Death Penalty Information Center. ?In many states, this could take months, if not years, delaying executions.?

In the rules I posted yesterday about death row inmates and what they are allowed, it said that among the very few possessions she could have in her cell would be "writing materials" (presumably paper and writing utensils), but that they had to be purchased from the prison commissary. So I assume there is a very limited selection, and the the items can't be things an inmate could use to make a weapon. I would also guess that the inmates can't have an unlimited amount, that there are rules about how much paper and how many writing utensils they can possess.

I don't think he has to dwell on that tho. It was a juror question that told them there was absolutely nothing in the attic. NO xmas stuff at all. No nothing. nada.
And furthermore, I think he slam dunked the pedo bullshit with what he said about how hateful and shameful and what a hot button of hate the mere inference to being a pedo is, and how damaging that is to the actual victim, Travis.
Juan did mention today very briefly that there were no pedo pics found anywhere in Travis' house, and that the police searched everywhere, even the attic.

My guess is that Juan knows that the defense will bring up the stupid angel ornament story in their closing, and that Juan is saving his "boom" about nothing in the attic for his final closing statement which is his chance to rebut what the defense says in their closing.

I don't even know how to explain what I am feeling right now. This is honestly the first trial I have ever watch from beginning to end, so maybe that is why it is hitting me so hard. No I haven't cried, maybe a tear here or there, but not really crying. However, I just have had this overwhelming sense of dread in my stomach for 5 months seeing the shit show that the defense has put forth. The shenanigans that the defense team put forth really muddied the waters. Although they put forth their best fight, they did so disgustingly. There is presenting a case, and then there is unnecessary character harassment. All the defense did was try to take away the heinousness of this crime, by blaming the victim. Absolutely disgusting. I have never doubted that she was guilty of M1, or that she will be found guilty of something.
But WOW - watching today really just sealed the deal. I wasn't crying, but I was on the verge. I cannot even fathom what his family has been feeling these past years, months, or even days with this drawing to an end. I have a feeling I am going to lose all my marbles and be bawling like a baby come verdict day and I see his family. Either sobbing, or relieved - it will still be a massive sight to see and something that will stay with me forever.

no, the reddish base board is actually the sink area. the door stop is to stop he lil linen closet door (where the banker's box that had a water/blood ring was found)

I think you're facing the sink/the sink vanity. The doorstop you see screwed into the baseboard is for either the linen closet or toilet room door that opens against that wall.

FYI, on the first video of today's arguments, Martinez begins at 31:52... Watching now cuz I worked all day, just thought I'd share if anyone else wanted to skip the jury instructions to watch later. I couldn't wait to get to Martinez closing today, lol! I have no phone nor computer access at work, as I'm a PROFESSIONAL server. Not a shitty one like Stabby either! lol :)

I am fairly sure that they already decided what drug or drugs they will replace the old method with...I think they are going from 3 drugs down to 2. Getting through the legalities and red tape will delay things, but I don't imagine for long.

She'll have paper and pencils but no magazines to copy from. She'll have to rely on herself for artistic expression, and that's not something she likes to do. I don't care if she never gets put to death as long as she stays on death row. It's that human contact that she really needs to be deprived of. That emptiness that she feels inside will drive her insane when she can't fill it with something or someone. She'll blow up like a balloon. She won't even be recognizable after a year. And don't worry. She'll not make a dime off of anything after she's convicted.

Juan was masterful at bringing home Travis' story. Not Jodi's fanciful lies. The weight of that responsibility has got to be tremendous. I'm glad that he's getting the recognition that he really, really deserves. Jodi couldn't have acted more guilty today with her smirks and shaking her head. If you were being accused falsely for such a heinous crime, how devastated would you feel? How completely defeated would you look? I would imagine anyone would be terrified! She couldn't have been more guilty. I loved every minute of her insanely bitchy attitude.

    Juan was fantastic.

I swear I thought I saw Nurmi thumbing through a Skymall catalog today.

The old air bubble in the syringe works too. Air is free and I would happily pay the three dollars for a shiny new needle.
