So am I but I've been on the Alexander family side of this kind of horror. There is NO excuse for how the Arias family treated this as funny in court behaviors. No excuse for trying to help JA with fake pedo letters to trash a dead man when they know very well she is a liar. Let them walk a mile in the Alexanders shoes and see how funny they think it is. Hard lesson, that hurts ... maybe they will learn from the cold shit they did. Maybe they won't learn a damn thing and go through life not thinking about others.

Ya know I am tired too. I am so anxious for the verdict in this case. Ands some anxiety is setting in as I get concerned I have put so much into this trial and concern for TA's family as they go thru these painful days near the end. I remember how the CA trial ended and the sadness and emptiness I felt. I think that is affecting me as the time finally approaches. We all have vested so much of our emotions in this case.
Listening to this Dr talk today about different personality disorders reminds me, I don't think there are any "normal" people out there who these tests are supposed to compare the testee to. There is no excuse for what she has done. Anxiety, emotional abuse, depression, traumatic experiences, chronic pain, self esteem issues, anger, etc. We have all felt these at various times in our lives. This all seems like a waste of time and distraction from the facts.
Frustating to say the least. Ya know?

Lying consistently to the Jury, Jodi is fucked. The obvious heinous photos of Travis Alexander, tells the true story of how Jodi murdered and slaughtered him. There is zero excuse around it. I feel the Jury has made their decision months ago.
They sure could have made their decisions by then, I have. I hope they don't disappoint the way many of these high visibility cases have tended to do. It has been interesting, how many times does the defendant, a pathological liar, take the stand! Wow that rarely happens anymore. Also, the Jury questions are the coolest thing I've seen in the courtroom and believe it engages the jury and that is invaluable. Adding a little time is worth it if it makes a difference in the Search for Justice.
No-one wants to know. They just want to keep telling each other it's impossible. They've been given the links. They're not interested unless it can be used to call her a liar.
I don't understand the refusal to accept that this CAN happen because the FACT that it CAN doesn't help her story enough to negate everything else against her - because it's certainly not garden-variety common, BUT IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE. Put shit on the defense for their UNLIKELY story, but don't ridicule anyone who dares speak against the group view in this thread, because it IS possible.
I read more on Phineas Gage. He never lost consciousness. He walked to a cart to take him to the Dr. He talked all the way there. & it wasn't mono-syllables, it wasn't nonsensical ravings. It was much what he normally would've discussed. He was able to correctly answer all questions put to him, including correctly naming a list of his fellow workers. The cart driver could see his brain pulsating in the mess of blood. The Dr kept asking him what had happened because he refused to believe the story was possible. Until Phineas said he was going to puke. He walked over to the basin in the room & when he bent to throw up, a portion of brain, large enough to fill a small cup, fell out onto the floor. At that point the Dr paid full attention to the story.
Gases or no gases a whopping great metal pole shooting through a cheek & blasting out the top of a skull is going to cause rather a shockwave of it's own. & who was it way back in the thread who reminded us of the footage of that kid at Columbine? I know you all remember THAT - 2 shots to the head & he still managed to lower himself out a window. Maybe those ones were special gasless bullets? Or do some of you think he was faking? (do excuse me, of course I meant to say malingering).
The handful we were able to quickly name are just the high profile or much studied cases. There are many many more that are only known to those directly involved with the patient. Just like all motor vehicle accidents don't make the news, neither do gunshot wounds - they're not exactly a rare occurence & many barely rate a mention -especially when the victim wasn't even killed. & We ARE talking about victims who WEREN'T killed. If you guys want to laugh &scoff that surviving a severe brain injury & walking & talking afterwards is so fucking impossible it's FUCKING HILARIOUS HA!! HAHA, then you aren't just putting shit on Jodi anymore, you are laughing at everyone this has REALLY happened to & you're denouncing them as liars as well. That is adding insult to injury in the truest sense.
& yes, I know SOME of you conceded it's possible. This isn't directed at anyone who said alright, it's possible BUT IT'S REALLY REALLY RARE. That's fine. I have NO problem with it being said like that. I have a problem with all the scathing remarks & insults at how stupid & utterly gullible you have to be to get sucked into thinking someone could be conscious, walking &/or talking after being shot in the head, because IT CAN HAPPEN.

[QUOTE;3406084]It would be safe to say she was immediately incapacitated...[/QUOTE]
I know you guys finished with this conversation HOURS ago but there's comments on the brain injury "ridiculousness" on almost EVERY page. We gave you examples of people who DID WALK & TALK - & I did the most minimal search. I must've spent all of 2 minutes on it. There are MANY cases out there. 5% is 5 people out of every hundred. That's 50 in every thousand. That's a lot of cases. Regardless of all the ones who DID remain conscious & DID walk & talk in the immediate aftermath that we didn't hunt down & name for you all, why is it that every time someone dicusses this, they selectively choose the case of someone that wasn't responsive??
We gave you examples of patients who DID, why are you all using the one who didn't to "prove" anyone who says otherwise is stupid or trolling, or both? If the prosecution case has merit you shouldn't need to deny the existence of these cases. The jury isn't going to be given this thread during deliberations, so why is it so important, to so many posters to crush this into oblivion??

The topic was over HOURS ago and then you bring it up again to....what? Jam it in someone's head?![]()
that's me you quoted and the specific person being discussed at the time was Congresswoman Gabrielle "Gabby" Giffords (D-Arizona)... "It would be safe to say she was immediately incapacitated" in fact it's accurate to say she was immediately incapacitated after being shot in the head.
But based on your math, if you want to play #'s games, I could then site 95 cases where a gunshot to the head was incapacitating to every 5 of yours that were, only, what? phased? certainly you're not claiming that a gunshot to the head would have NO effect at all... are you?

Ok, fine. Some people, like my good friend who was shot in the head, are immediately incapacitated. Others aren't. Take that a step further. Out of those that are not, how many of them are genuinely nice, kind people who were just shot by a psycho ex-girlfriend? Would their reaction be to get help or say fucking kill you bitch? That's what it boils down to. I'm leaning on the side of trying to save their own skin.
Riiiight. I need to scroll thru the jillion pages to find where Alyce "misspoke" about her notes, where stabby said pedo pics were on a computer. Your reaction to her misspeaking?
And Dr Samuels, he misspoke about his notes and what stabby "told" him also. Your reaction?
I don't understand that entire credibility is lost over this. How is it possible the bullet went into his skull to the jaw without piercing the dura? And it makes you respond thusly?
Alyce and samuels lost credibility because of their unprofessionalism and demeanor and well, the shit they said on the stand and such was so freaking OUT there despite the misspeaking and misquoting or forgetting to fucking bring their notes...
States witnesses were concise, calm, credible. I am sorry, but the only typo from and ME that would make me doubt his credibility would be that he found NO bullet and said "oh, right, I made an error"
Would you agree that 100% of the people with frontal lobe trauma are deceased at the time of your examination?
I think it was a clearly sarcastic question letting us know one juror doesn't care about what the lawyers were battling over, bringing the ME back for his 3rd curtain call... That it's as simple as she shot him and he's dead. Not a defense juror, IMO.
I would've tripped & cartwheeled into several court staff before I made it to the witness stand. On a uni field work unit I was
awarded the Bean Award for Archaeological Incompetence when I single- (footedly really) squashed 3 seperate excavation pits. The youngest guy on our course had just been congratulated on the finest, straightest excavation wall our Prof said he'd ever seen, when I stepped backwards - right onto the side of the pit & completely collapsed the wall. I knew before my foot had even landed that I'd really fucked up so I sort of leapt backwards while saying ohshitohshitsorrysorrysorry & landed on the pit next to ours, collapsed it, leapt sideways annd got the third one. So so embarassing. & it cost me an awful lot of beer before I was forgiven. & I'm still pretty good at ridiculous accidents, spillages & Spoonerisms - the best of which was when helping my daughter with a class speech & instead of "FISH SPECIES" , I said "SPISH FAECES". Yep. Way to impress the 8yr old. I will NEVER live that one down.
Dr Geffner might've been a bit spilly, but at least he wasn't Spoonery.
Are the closing arguments today?
I really don't think the prosecution should be focusing on what came first, the bullet or the stabbing... In my opinion I do not think it matters. Maybe she indeed shoot him first and maybe he still was awake enough to scream at her "fucking kill you bitch", it could have happened..
What matters is that one week before the murder, a gun was stolen from her grandparents' house which is the same caliber that was used to kill TA, she dyed her hair, she rented a car 90 miles away from her home, she asked for another color, she turned off her phone, she asked for 2 gas cans and she bought another one, she lied saying she wanted to get cheaper gas but she still bought gas in CA, she lied about the third gas can, she deleted some incriminating pictures, she tried to clean the crime scene, she lied to the police, she lied to friends. That is premeditation.
And the most important thing: we have a person who was murdered with multiple stabs, a shoot to the head, and a slash to the throat, and we have another person who DID NOT have any apparent injuries from that confrontation but a couple of finger cuts. That is what matters.
I need to find the ME report: did he just check the wrong box on a form? that would be a typo, or did he write it out long-hand "the dura wasn't pierced"? because that would be a mistake and his testimony would then be somewhat of a "cya" attempt. By NO means misconduct or an appeal issue though.

Jury instructions 1st.. then Juan is on... then Nurmi.... brace yourself
edit: someone may have commented on this already.. it may not be "jury instructions" (that could be last before deliberations) but the Judge will give some presentation "on the law" before closing arguments.
