I think we can all agree that regardless of her specific diagnosis, regardless of which expert you support, that something is deeply wrong with Jodi's mental health. She is not well.

What impact will that have on the trial? Will the jury feel some sympathy for a young female killer who suffers from a disorder? Can they help her, send her to prison where she can get medicine and treatment and maybe some day live a productive life? Or should they kill her?

The defense has benefited from all the mental health discussion. The jury has spent so much time getting to know Jodi in detail. She is a real person to them, and she is sick. Is she a monster the same way we look at a serial killer? Or is she an emotionally immature, lovesick outcast who needs help from our society? If she had counseling and medication in 2007 would there have even been a murder?

What is important here, Coconut, is a legal defense. Having mental illness is rarely a defense to murder. That is why the defense did not go for innocent by reason of insanity plea......Jodi was deemed by the doctors and psychologists to be sane, thereby knowing right from wrong. That is all that matters. I doubt this jury is going to have much empathy or sympathy for Jodi. The crime she committed, the lies she told, her behavior and demeanor in court, her refusal to take responsibility for what she did....all that is going to go against her. I doubt she was able to sway the jury toward her, in the slightest bit.

They can use visual aids for the closing arguments, can't they? I hope Martinez puts up a bullet-point presentation of all Jodi's steps to plan the murder. I think by showing them, instead of just telling them, it would make a bigger impact.

She is a full blown psychopath. There is no medication for that.

They acquitted Casey Anthony right after they read the jury instructions and elected their foreperson. They fell for Jose Baez's bullshit opening statement and didn't bother wasting any time discussing the actual evidence.

UGH! The Hughes's are coming off worse and worse with this revelation I don't care if Stabby orchestrated it, they threw their so called best friend under the bus.

He rebukes the couple for causing “irreparable damage to mine and Jodi’s relationship. She is paranoid that this evil person you have depicted will someday surface. No matter what I say or do she will always have in the back of her mind of this person that lurks in the shadows.” He denied being more than “a jerk” with her.

But Sky Hughes stuck to her opinion, according to the e-mails, and sent Alexander’s e-mail back to him with her own responses, paragraph by paragraph.

“She was being treated horribly, you weren’t beating her physically, but you were emotionally,” she wrote.

At the end of her e-mail, Hughes wrote, “We should have just said you should talk (to) Travis about these issues. But due to a pattern, we thought were (sic) trying to help her and you, in case there could be a future.”

Chris Hughes said today that the e-mails were something that Arias “orchestrated.”

“She came over and threw Travis under the bus,” he said. “We bought it, and we didn’t know she was manipulating us.”

He acknowledged that Alexander was seeing several women and felt it was normal for a young man.

In April 2007, Hughes and his wife had a falling out with Arias after they caught her twice eavesdropping on conversations they had with Alexander, he said.

“Are you going to tell Travis not to date me?” Chris Hughes said Arias asked them.

“We want nothing whatsoever to do with you,” he said he answered.

They giggled and acted they were in traffic court throughout the whole trial. Disco Donna showing up for court like she's in da club, passing secret notes for Stabby. What a joke!

When Stabby herself testified that she doesn't know if she would ever tell truth if she had not been not caught does it really matter how many tests any doctor would have given her?

She straight up lied to the jury on the stand. She thought/thinks she's smarter than everyone else. She only outsmarted herself.

I don't think there is an email that precedes his dated 5-26-08. If there is it has not been admitted. Even Sky Hughes said they were trying to figure out what caused him to respond as he did in that 5-26 email. But he was killed nine days later on 6-4-08. He threatened to expose her in that email and two days later she stole the gun and planned that fateful trip.
The mystery remains what did she do that caused him to finally figure her out and call her a sociopath?

The Prosecutor is supposed to fight fair. Criminals lie but hero lawyers should do the right thing and win fair and square. Not by sloppy work or dirty tricks.

I believe the Prosecutor has fought fair. It seems Defense lawyers are really the only ones that have the green light to utilize sloppy work or dirty tricks. A question for the legal people - would an appeals court uphold a murder conviction where the medical examiner contradicted his report on the stand, claimed it was a typo, and also changed his testimony between a pre-trial hearing and the trial?
