Exactly! The jury knows it too! He wasted no time throwing Jenny under the bus!
No. I'm just saying that the State isn't trying hide stupid shit like this. Why hide this kind of stuff? It makes it looks you lie about everything... kind of like Stabby does.

I may get to see closing arguments after all if if continues this way!! I just got a happy!

I feel a big BOOOOOM coming from JM.
The difference is, Dr. DeMarte was not trying to hide that she was being compensated. In this case with Dr. Geffner, he was saying the money goes to the foundation --which it does -- but the foundation is paying him to work on this case and be in court.
To put it in layman's terms. Let's say I work for a widget-maker. My boss/his company gets a contract to produce 1,000 widgets. Someone has to produce those widgets and it's me. So, when my boss/company gets the order, I benefit, because if there were no widgets to produce, my boss/his company wouldn't be making money and I wouldn't have a job.
Dr. Geffner is not a getting a check in his name from the defense team, but his company/foundation is getting a check and his pay comes out of that. It's all semantics.
On a side note, can I just say how hilarious it is that Jenny is objecting that Martinez asked Dr. Geffner a question that was beyond the scope of his knowledge? You mean like asking him about autopsies and bullet penetration?

I thought it was ridiculous for him to testify at all about gun shot wounds to the head.![]()

I hope the Judge sticks to her "we may go very late" instruction from last week... forge ahead!!

....And they take her out back to snack on the bomb sniffing dog's chow bowl....grrrrrr, snapppgggggrrgeerfhsgohsoh

3 cases, read a magazine, done a workshop! Oh well! Tops an ME anyday!
Theres a alot of movement at the bench, hopefully that means we willl finish this day out.
Okay, I'm sayin' it ..... I liked this witness .... Dr. FloydTheBarber.![]()
He did a good job presenting and was emotionless.
I'm taking off points for his burping his lunch, spilling his court water twice, and tossing out a sh!t.
I'm a little disappointed that the lawyering obstructed at times a more instructional delivery,
But he did a credible job with juror questions, and handled Juan's recross well. Answered honestly.
1 bazilligazatillion times better than Dr. DogAteMyHomework and Ms. Laviolette.
Damn its 6:30 here in AZ, I hope Judge doesn't give in & send everyone home!
I understood 100% from his original direct exam. He has no incentive to overbill or spend extra time, it doesn't change his salary. His rate is the same as all the others and that money goes to a non-profit foundation.
The take home point is that he is probably the most financially objective expert witness we have seen so far. Special Cupcake Farts Demarte got paid more than he did.
