Then Alyce should have said that the killing was the culmination of an emotionally abusive and mindfucked relationship where his aggression was increasing over time until that awful day.

IF her version is true, I think PTSD could happen.

But, the defense also shit the bed and Samuels tried to claim (quite laughably) that she got PTSD from her "heinous crime" and not "the fight for her life", and how 30% of criminals have amnesia about their crimes, etc.

Even the best paid fabricators could not put together a convincing argument after all those billable hours - nothing tied back to self defense.
When did TA actually physically attack her? She claims he chased her and she *thought* he was going to attack her. The so-called bodyslam doesn't even make sense, but for the sake of argument, let's say it's true. (cough cough) Is it likely she can get PTSD from a bodyslam? I've known soldiers who have been denied PTSD benefits over more than a bodyslam. What else did JA supposedly do that day. Um...he chased her and supposedly said "fucking kill you bitch" and pawed at her clothes AFTER being shot in the head. Therefore, I don't see a brutal attack anywhere. Perhaps it was the comment that a 5 year old can hold a camera better than she can. That's pretty traumatic for a world-famous VanGogh/Monet competitor.

I agree she was probably on something the day of the murder, but I doubt it was prescription medicine. My guess is she was either having a manic episode or she was on some cocaine or meth. I was tired after just hearing about all the stuff she did on the day of the murder. She had a marathon sex session, took down a strong man that out weighed her, drug his body into the shower, cleaned up the crime scene and drove how many miles before taking a break? All this while only eating a banana the entire day?

I don't believe she shot him first. There was no hemoraging at the bullet entry point. Even after decomposition, there would be evidence of blood in the skull.

Also there would be no way he would have had so many defensive wounds on his hands if she shot him first. I think she stabbed him in the chest which was a fatal stab wound, however not an immediately fatal stab wound. He fought back for his life. That is clear to me.

Every second he fought her back, he was losing more and more blood and getting too weak to stave her off.

If she had shot him first, I think neurologically he would have been too stunned and disoriented to hold his hands up in an attempt to ward off the multitude of stabs she inflicted upon him.

Regardless, I hope the jury does not get stuck on this point. It truly doesn't matter which weapon she used first. She murdered him 3 times over. That's enough for me to convict.

The reason I think she should get the DP is the throat slashing. If she shot him first, which I don't think she did, and the gun jammed, then I could see her getting a knife and stabbing him in a panic. If she stabbed him first and he wasn't dying fast enough, then I could see her panicking and shooting him. But, the throat slashing is beyond panic. She's no different than OJ. They both think they are special and nobody dare leave them and be happy with someone else. The throat was the "how dare you, bitch". Neither OJ nor Jodi show any remorse or sadness over it. I think they both believe their victims had it coming to them. If Mimi King had showed up, she would have been the Ron Goldman in the scenario.

She will soon be looking at this trial as "the good old days." Being out of the spotlight will be more difficult for her than the actual sentencing. These will be the last days she wears street clothes, meets with people face to face, rides in a vehicle, sees the outside world. I dont think she believes she is going to get M1, so she is thinking more along the lines of 10-15 yrs, impressing her fellow inmates with her stories, teaching them her awesome art skills, teaching them a few yoga moves, and of course all of this while reworking her case and getting an early release.

Also, he missed a "very important" PPL conference call with Chris Hugues at 5:00 pm that day...dead by 5:33 pm.

I think being out of the spotlight will really bother her. Before the trial, she had attention paid to her with mental evals, speaking with lawyers etc, even though the cameras were not on her. Non the less, it was attention in preparing her to be the star of the trial. After the verdict, this will stop, and other vistors will slow down too, including Nurmi and Willmott (who she thinks is one of her dear friends). Right now, some of her jailmates are smitten by her, but that will erode over time too as she starts making slip ups.
She will never have remorse for what she did, her mission was accomplished with the killing. She never thought about what would happen if she got caught, but then again, most killers don't think about the future.

She will be leaving her jail fan club behind when she gets to big girl jail (prison). On deathrow it will be hard for her to chat.
You're right, i dont think she ever thought that she would be caught.

I fell in the shower yesterday (more details in the chit chat thread). right out the door. slammed onto the metal ridge. i was incapacitated for SEVERAL moments from the shock and sheer suddeness of it. i could totally see someone stabbing me while i was down. i was totally vunerable and defenseless.

Does she go immediately to prison when the verdict is read? Or sit in the jail for 1-2 months waiting for sentencing?

Samuels said she lied because of The Fog and to protect TA's reputation. He said that Nurmi and he had to "confront" her about her ninja story and drag the abuse/pedo story out of her. he said regardless of her lies she still suffered from PTSD.

Alyce based everything she said on what Stabby told her and by cherry picking interviews others had done with family members/other witnesses. The only example of abuse Alyce could come with from her family was her brother Carlton who said he blames the fact he has little patience with his children on his Father.

Does anyone really expect anything different from Geffner? He and Alyce are thick as thieves, they do speaking engagements together (13 years worth), he wrote a forward to her book. They are both drinking from the same Kool Aid jug. Based on his track record I certainly don't. Like I said he will do handstand, cartwheels and juggle monkeys for Stabby if that's what it takes.

I predict his cross examination is going be fireworks like we haven't yet seen and JM is going to have an absolute field day with him. How many lies did Stabby tell Geffner? Were they new lies? Old lies? A mix of the two?

Did Stabby tell Geffner that TA tied up bother wrists and ankles, used the knife to cut the rope to release her like she told Samuels and Alyce?

Everything Geffner testifies to will be based on lies by Stabby. That said, I think he's just going to focus on the diagnoses of BPD by Dr Demarte and try to tell the jury she was wrong. If the defense is smart they keep it limited to that and not open any other doors for JM to waltz through but I won't hold my breath.

Aghhh I absolutely can not stand her!
Based on this motion (still undecided by Judge Stephens) I think she'll still cry "I'm innocent"

If there is a mitigation phase she can take the stand and make a statement only in a bid to save her life but she cannot testify with direct or cross examination.

She told Dr Demarte and I think Alyce or Samuels that. She was single, remember?

If she gets DP my understanding is she goes to Death Row right away. If she gets LWOP or is convicted of a lesser charge then I think there is a 30 to 90 day period before sentencing.

I truly believe if she gets DP, its not the actual "DEATH" sentence that will upset her but the lack of interaction with others. That will absolutely RUIN her. I could be wrong but on death row, she is completely alone in a cell and has no interaction with other inmates, correct? That, I personally feel, would be the best punishment. Sit alone, no attention, rot away until that day when she is strapped to a table and put to death. And I HOPE in that last moment of life, she sees his face and feels SOME SORT of regret/sadness/grief. (but I doubt it)

Its funny, I never was so pro death penalty before. But this specific case I just see no other punishment that fits as well. The premeditation, the overkill, the covering up (over and over), and the complete lack of any sort of remorse....DP is the only option. (IMO)

IMO the jury won't find it too difficult to return Murder 1 and I think we will hear from them quickly (before noon) on the 6th.

Let's try this again. No matter what the verdict is, be it 1st degree, 2nd degree, or manslaughter, does she immediately go to prison? If it's 1st degree, does she go to prison during the aggravation phase deciding if it's LWOP or DP or stay in jail during that phase before going to prison?

I just watched "In Session". Jodi's demeanor was sickening with the pouting, poor me and hand over her eyes. I had forgotten how much she faked at the trial onset

. Of course when we saw it, we were just so excited to see the trial start I don't recall me having such total despise of her faking.

Since then we've had so many inconsistencies in her stories I've even forgotten some of them.

I understand she'll go to death row if the decision is DP. My question relates to 1st degree, that's the jury's 1st decision. There's another phase deciding their recommendation for LWOP or DP. Does she remain in jail until the second decision is made or go to prison immediately after a 1st degree decision is made?

Hmm, the time is drawing near and I'm really not sure what the hell is going to happen!

I don't see how they could be ok with anything other than M1. Doesn't M2 have min of 10 years and a max of 25 years in prison? That means she'll get out in her 40s or early 50s or so (not 100% sure about that, though)? I don't see anyone being ok with that. I *dont* see her getting the DP though. Her plea for her life will be her biggest performance ever. She probably already has it all planned out just in case. One of those jurors will fall for it and feel bad for her. Pretty sure one already does. I'm calling M1 and LWOP.
Lets not forget to expect the unexpected in these kinds of trials though. NO decision from the jury would really surprise me at this point.

I believe she will remain in jail until after the sentencing. Once sentenced, she will go to Big Girl Prison. Hope this helps.
