an HLN caller just alerted them that there was Hair Color product bought along with the gas can in Salinas... that's old news around here.

He is the lead detective in this case, so I doubt they would have a problem with him being called for rebuttal. In fact, it would make a lot of sense!!

I have. I've actually been on juries where they did.

But if the gun was a bit older, and being a .25 caliber automatic, it's likely the gun just jammed on its own.

.25ACP guns tended to be poorly made, cheap guns. They sometimes didn't have even blowback to fully cycle the slide for a rechambering.

Oftentimes these tiny guns were so difficult to get a tight grasp on that the gun moving in the shooter's hand absorbed too much recoil for the discharge to cycle a rechambering.

Dangerous little automatics, in my experience, that easily jammed.
agree, but question. cheap magazine, misfed, double fed, junk. but, the recoil, wouldn't it recoil less because there is little gunpowder, not enough force in the small caliber?

Apparently not. He has been sitting there through the whole trial.

The HLN callers are usually way behind. they call up JVM and NG and tell them something that this group discussed months ago and NG and JVM are like "Whoa! That was really astute!"

But that caller was wrong, unless Jodi hid hair dye in a sunscreen box

right, but normally a witness is called in.. testifies and if subject to recall must not watch the trial.. at least that's how I understood it.

It's possible she did do some accessing after killing him. since we know she accessed his phone messages.

As for her funds, she borrowed a large sum of money from some guy -- can't recall his name -- that I think was a customer at one of the restaurants where she worked. He was interviewed by the media about it and said that she was desperate to get to Mesa. She obviously didn't have her own money to get there. But, he also said that she paid him back. If so, where did she get the money? If I recall, the total deposits she made on her travel day were something like $800.00.

There was no hair color bought at Walmart. The SKU's were investigated by many long ago and found to be tanning lotion and facial crap.
As if .. JM would skip over something like hair dye with the Walmart tetimony yesterday? HLN is a joke.

In addition to the reasons others have posted why he might be there, I believe he's also there to listen to testimony, making note of contradictions (lies) in defense witnesses' testimony, especially JA's testimony.

Briefly addressing the sequence of the attack upon Travis--was he shot first, last or in between, members ought to not lose sight of the fact that the sequence is only material with respect to the ultimate penalty Jodi Arias could suffer if she is convicted. Beyond that, it doesn't much matter. Keep in mind that Arias is 'eligible'--(I hate that use of that word in this context. It makes it sound like she is a finalist in a contest competing for some high honor.'Subject to' is far more precise.)--in any case, she is eligible for the death penalty based on the added Aggravator of 'Extreme Cruelty,' as was previously adjudicated. In short, if the gunshot came first, before she went to work with the knife, Jodi Arias will probably be spared death upon conviction. If the gunshot came last, she maintains her 'eligibility' for--(or is subject to) the needle. Let us all pull together to help Jodi Arias win the prize!! Beyond that consideration, the sequence doesn't matter. No?

I would assume that he is also Juan's right hand man. He KNOWS this case as well as JM, but he can't present it, obviously. He knows Jodi, better than anyone. He is the "go to" partner that Juan relies on. He helps catch inconsistencies, is the eyes of the prosecution while Juan is focusing his on the witness, he gives input to the entire procedure. He is doing far more than just watching the trial, trust me.

i've seen it b4, because he was the lead detective on the case - he knows the most and can help jm out with any inconsistencies in any ones testimony or evidence the dt tries to enter - and thats prolly why he was one of the first to testify

I've heard of trials being postponed because the arresting officer wasn't available. Det. Flores has been there for months. Maybe he's gathering evidence for other cases/charges? I've also wondered about the people who are there sometimes near the Mitigation Specialist.
I think some of the people sat near the mitigation specialist might have been interns.

I was thinking about this yesterday. Notice who JM put up to testify first? Mimi Hall. I think he's going to bring it all back for the jury that she was the reason (well a big part of it) for this murder. Not sure why i didn't think about that before.

it's trial day 53 and my brain is scrambled, you're right about Walmart.. there was only an intimation that 3 hours at a nail salon might include a dye job.

I think the importance of the gun testimony (and probably why they would recall Dr. Horn) would be the evidence suggests the gunshot was NOT first......therefore, Jodi's "version" could not have happened as she said it did. It debunks the defense, and the whole self-defense/linebacker/fogginess bullshit. The jury needs to have that point driven home. One of many they will need when they enter deliberations.

because it seems like it has been about 2 years since mimi testified
jm had 20 witnesses in 10 days and the defense had 3 witnesses in what 3 months??

I know the feeling, I called sunscreen, tanning lotion
She's got something else she is hiding about Salinas and a big whooper about the Purple Plum. Doesn't seem we'll find out either though.

Looking like we won't see any court today. Sad the judge does this shit to the jury.

Please, for the love of God, no mention of her "two car garage/tainted roast beef." I can't even drive by an Arby's without puking in my mouth a little.

I am wondering if the jury is going to request lots of readbacks - especially of Stabby's testimony. I don't know what is allowed in AZ, but it's gonna get cray cray if we have to sit and listen to somebody reading all that crap.
