Judge has a heavy load this morning on her calendar before she even gets to the Arias case.

My wife is funny with regard to this trial. I will start to talk about it one day and she will tell me she doesn't want to hear about it. The next day, I can't resist so I tell her something else and she already knows what went on?? I think she's secretly following the damn trial but letting me think she isn't! Damn woman! Drives me crazy....

Yeah, wish I could make it the 3rd but I'm sure it will still be going on on the 6th when I get back. I think that Monday is my next court trip. I hope you enjoy it Ian, it is a great experience.
That is hilarious. My husband was on leave when the trial started and initially asked me why I was watching it. He deployed soon after the state rested but before the defense started. When he calls me he asks me what is going on in the trial and to DVR some of it for him. LOL

Found this to be interesting regarding women on death row. There are currently 3 women on the row in AZ. California and Texas....OMG!

Oops, upon further review Debra Jean was overturned, so there are 2.

Actually as of now there are only 2 women on AZ death row. Debra Milke just had her sentence overturned (after 22 years on death row!)
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/0...n_2880546.html

ETA: and there are actually 10 females on Texas death row. 3 seemed low for my state.
Nevermind. I get what you were saying, that CA and TX have a lot. LOL.

    Here's what's up.
    1. Let's put the brakes on this party with a counter-expert
    2. Only 16 jurors left
    3. Motion to sequester part II
    4. At least 3 more months of testimony and motions
    5. Prosecutorial misconduct part III
    6. My investigative team (female ex-con code name Baby Bear) is digging up "new evidence"
    7. Mistrial part IV
    8. I will re-rebut anything they try to un-rebut

Nothing beats a huge laugh first thing in the morning!

Good morning, MDS peeps. Very excited for more rebuttal today, this should be interesting...

Intelligent argument is welcome but when infantile, JAII-like dross distracts from debate rather than adds to it, people question if this is trolling. The complete lack of common sense and failure to consider evidence adds nothing, in my opinion. Some people add points of interest from a DT perspective, some just waffle nonsense. While expounding on the element of sexual abuse within the abusive relationship, Dr. Geffner emphasizes that victims hardly ever voluntarily disclose this component. The counsellor, Geffner says, must intensely question victims to elicit this information and even then, they only give it up very reluctantly. Then, in a little flash of hubris, the Dr. goes on to state, (and I'm paraphrasing), "I always referred to that phenomenon as 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell.' I 'invented' that phrase to describe victims' reluctance to bring up the sexual violence as part of the abuse and I used it until George Bush stole it from me." He is obviously referring to Pres. George H. W. Bush.
    Professor Geffner is an egghead?

Now then, isn't it this unfortunate trait---manifested in the horrific acts of violence Arias perpetrated upon Travis Alexander in his shower--exactly that one that the Arias's defence lawyers are advancing in support of their argument for a Jury instruction on Manslaughter? A mitigating factor excusing Arias's assault on Travis! A justified 'heat of passion violent response' to an alleged provocation on the part of Travis? Can it work both ways? Can Arias embody a significant characteristic of a batterer yet, at the same time, be excused for her violent response to Travis's supposed provocation with a touch of self-defense against Travis's physical attack upon her also thrown into the mix? It is beyond any doubt whatsoever, that the Arias group views her 'Violent Response to Travis's Provocation" as acceptable behavior and if Dr. Geffner comes on board he's going to have to present an opinion that contradicts what he teaches.
This is the problem with DV experts. There is little consensus for its diagnosis and the field is steeped in feminist social theoretical frameworks. And to add to this quagmire people are hurt and killed daily. I've nothing against feminist principles in evaluation and treatment, but there is considerable controversy. Jodi's defense is clearly capitalizing on this prolonged dispute.

I can't see any jurors willing to let her walk the streets ever again with the evidence the State has. Maybe the State's position hasn't been presented recently or in the best way, but I have confidence the jury will get this one right. I hope I don't eat my words.
Yup, and similar statements are what got juror 5 tossed out. Its pretty clear by the ME's report and blood splatter evidence that Travis was tortured before he died. The blood cast-off was 6 feet high on the blinds in the bathroom! I counted 13 stab wounds on his back and the back of his head. The stab to his abdomen had to hurt awful. Once we learned that the bathroom had such significance to Travis, it becomes crystal clear she selected an area that was full of his personal demons. She didnt even bother to cover him up.

I did have a nano-second worth of sympathy for Jodi and then reminded myself what she did without looking at the autopsy photos. I think even if Jodi has one juror that the others will be able to persuade that one dissent with the photos. JMO.
Agree! None of the diagnoses excuse Jodi. They may explain her behavior but nothing excuses what she did.

    Yes, I am amped!

On another note, HLN read the entire email and texts from may 26. What triggered Travis's tirade was Jodi's lying response to his accusation of Jodi slitting the tires. Leave it to a BPD to be pissed off enough to kill when a lover accuses her of doing something she actually did!

I noticed NG was going through some journal entries last night. Is HLN playing new content?
I know we still don't know what was said in the facebook email(s) from 5/26 as well as the IM conversation. I think we've only seen a few text messages. What email did they show?

Someone posted a twitter account for a Mcyntire, he has a pic of the comments from the rental car return- https://twitter.com/josemcyntire/sta...700800/photo/1

Who could have been the smoker in the car? Also, he posts that Gus Searcy was in Monterey area at the same time she was supposedly meeting with Matt.

Last night, Nancy Grace had someone reading diary entries that seemed to be new ones that we have not heard in court or anywhere else as of yet. I have not seen them posted to read yet, has anyone else? tia

I assume the smoke smell is from burning the evidence in the desert

I dunno if that could be cigarette smoke smell or something burnt ....I just wonder if she set light to some things such as clothes or shoes or other things that would tie her to the murder.

Autopsy photos will not get her convicted of murder 1. That requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt of premeditation. Definition of premeditation: ...acts with intention or knowledge that he/she will kill another, when such intention or knowledge precedes the killing by any length of time to permit reflection. Proof of actual reflection is not required but an act is not done with premeditation if it is the instant effect of a sudden quarrel or heat of passion. From AZ criminal code, Ch. 11, 13-1101, definition of premeditation.

Suffering and cruelty will be considered during the penalty phase if she is convicted of murder 1, as an aggravating factor (crime committed in an especially heinous, cruel or depraved manner) in choosing DP vs LWOP.

I just showed my partner the cross of DeMarte with Willmutt. Held him captive from his sunbathing! He was five minutes in when he started shouting at the computer!

He said, regarding the PTSD shite, and I quote "Arias' legal strategy is equivalent to someone who murders their parents, and uses the fact that they are an orphan as their defense!" I may have him hooked?

[QUOTE=Freethinker;3398095]I think many of us have no one to share with. When I speak of it, all I can tell them is this has been a trial like no other with the type of killer she is, the lies, the lawyers etc.
I watch the trial specifically for the drama it has produced. After this one, the others will be blah.

OFF TOPIC -But with the above in mind & for anyone feeling lost when the Jodi circus leaves town, a better circus might be rolling in soon..

Shayna Hubers(?) sounds like she might have a Jodi-esque trial. I'm definitely keeping my eye on her case, because it has a few similarities. She's claiming self-defense, it's alleged she said that her final shot was to put him out of his misery & I think it's also been alleged she made the comment that one of the shots to his face had given him the nose-job he kept whining that he wanted. There's apparently a good case for premeditation because there are supposed to be witnessess to a comment she made about wanting to shoot him when she was practicing at a firing range not long before she shot him to death. Can't remember the exact quote, but it was pretty damning (will check & edit it in later). & almost forgot, he was a lawyer, so another vague similarity. The "Who's hotter -Shayna or Jodi" debate has already had an early preview in Shayna's thread too (Shayna was well in the lead last time I looked, with the exception of a pic of her looking psychotically angry in court).

An exclusive look at Jodi Arias' life behind bars

Through contacts, I was able to gain access to Estrella Jail where Jodi is housed, and to her cell. She didn't know I was coming, and at first, she wasn't happy to see me at all. But she eventually warmed up a bit.

We spoke together for quite some time.

Because of her impending case, and the advice of her attorneys, she didn't want to appear on camera. I agreed, and I promised her not to reveal some of the things we talked about.

    http://www.myfoxphoenix.com/story/20...clipId=8214947

She was still talking to media AFTER the trial started.
