I know some people are still not sold on premeditation yet.
What do you need? Jodi's Charted Plan of Action or something?
Three gas cans. She lied about one of them.
Did Jodi tell anybody except for Darryl that she was going to Mesa? Did she even tell him?
Come on. She lied about why she had the gas cans, she lied about having the third gas can.
Who the hell lies about this shit unless they're trying to hide what they were up to?
If Jodi shot Travis, she had no reason to stab him. And at some point, Travis would have been struggling less and less.
The throat slash seals the deal for me. THAT is not the act of self-defense. That is not just the act of someone out of their mind with rage or fear or whatever. It doesn't match with self-defense, or even heat-of-the-moment types of killings.
That is a cold, deliberate way to end someone's life. She knew, and formed the intent to kill Travis when she decided to put that knife to his throat. She wanted him to die -- and she made absolutely certain that he did.
And that is what we call premeditation.
the rumor going around is that JM wants to bring in dv expert Lenore Walker?

The grammar police have to quit it! We've got people posting here from all over the US and beyond! There are also many different age groups represented. Did it ever occur to you that people are using colloquialisms to show their individual personalities?
I'll say woulda, coulda, shoulda as much as I damn well please! So there!![]()

I was never 100% on the outcome because I was so sure that CA would have been convicted and we all know how that went. There is a lot more evidence in this trial and of course the fact that JA admitted to killing TA. Nonetheless I am nervous about the outcome too. I do not like some of the juror questions they sounded to me as if some of them have bought in to JA's claims. I hope that I am wrong.
Totally agree with oh right 're grammar corrections.

this is getting ridiculous... I've seen trials with Saturday sessions... 6 days a week. I've seen murder trials start to finish in less than a month... we are getting to the point of diminishing returns where the service of Justice is being derailed by what seems like a dysfunctional system... A less than happy jury going into deliberations is not necessarily going to do a thorough job behind closed doors.. IMO.

Link her directly to the theft of the gun. Ballistics evidence, the stolen DVD player remote, I don't care how.
Give me a witness who said Jodi asked for help in how to load and fire a gun the week before she killed him. A reciept for 25 auto ammo. A firing range reciept. How about an internet search on weapons, anatomy, murder, or forensics?
Link her directly to getting a knife in advance of the trip. Give me a Wal-mart or Amazon reciept for a tactical/hunting knife in the weeks before the crime. A friend who saw her playing with a knife, or saw a knife in her car.
The word knife or gun in any text message, email, internet search, journal, conversation with a friend.
Gas cans? I don't care... they might mean crime but they don't mean murder. A gas can is not a murder weapon Mr. The Prosecutor! Hair dye is not a murder weapon. Murderers rent cars, and so do travelers! Covering your tracks is shady, but it doesn't mean you planned murder. You might just be a crazy Borderline Personality Disorder witch who does wacky shit that nobody can figure out.
The prosecution doesn't have any of this evidence (not that we have seen yet). They have gas cans and hair dye.

Show me some evidence he abused her. His getting pissed because she was up to nonsense doesn't count.
As far as the knife goes, she lived in a tent for several weeks, that's probably when she picked up her trusty ol' knife. Why would she reference it in an e-mail? She used it to slash his tires.
You're getting as bad as Ron_NYC! Are you Ron?
I will grant you that those things prove she planned an "off the grid" trip through Arizona. That does not mean she planned to murder him. She could have planned to sleep under his Christmas tree, or pee in his fishtank, or shave her head in his front yard, or some other batshit crazy Borderline Personality Disorder chick thing that she loved to do.
The defense pursued their strategy of saying that the weapons were at Travis's house (regardless of validity) specifically because The Prosecution can not place those weapons in her hands until the moment of the killing.
I'm not home...bummer, but I need to ask, can't telll...is the trial proceeding at this time & if yes, who's in the box?
Coconut, with utmost respect, I don't believe any evidence would convince you that she is guilty of the charges. You may not think the gas cans are a big deal, but they ARE. And the paper trail of how she bought gas to put IN them, is huge. It disproves her story that she had them because she wanted to get cheaper gas after crossing out of California. She lied. She lied about returning the 3rd gas can. She lied about even going IN to Az. She lied to people before the left, lied to people while she continued on her journey. The hair dye. My question to you? Why are YOU so convinced that this wasn't 1st degree.
