She isn't just borderline, she has other personality disorders as well. Her inability to accept responsibility for her own emotions that she let build up, her jealously, rage, and inability to continue to manipulate Travis created the perfect storm that ended in murder. Notice her other exes didn't completely cut off contact with her, if they did they could have ended up like Travis.

Perhaps you're trying to suggest that it must have been something Travis did to set Jodi off.

All right, how in the actual FUCK did you get that from my question? Seriously, W T F ?

She killed Travis because he mad her angry
    .
That simple, really? Murdered people should be much more common than they are then. (That is a truly bizarre statement, BTW.)

I am truly sorry that you have to deal with PTSD like that! it sucks! I hope you eventually reach a point in your life that it becomes less severe. Thank you for sharing, that can't be easy either

ah, one of those 'why' people

I don't mean that as snark. Sadly, you want a miracle, but they only have answers they can guess at. Psychology isn't a solid science. You are lucky when you can get two to agree under the best of circumstances. Why don't all psychopaths murder? While others can go on to be driven serial murders. Research offers hints, but fail to find the key to unlock many mysteries. We can land on the moon, but have not found the secrets to 'why' mankind is different in many things.
My own personal belief, the answer is in an old book, evil roams the earth. We each play a part in it every day in some way. What we see in the worst isn't understandable to some. Yet, we chose to excuse away our own little violations daily. Even tell ourselves offenses, our own voids are no big deal. To sociopaths / psychopaths, its the same thing! They have their own denials and voids. To them it is as unimportant as the 'mean' stuff we excuse away each day for our own behaviors. You can't understand their voids, and they don't understand what you think is a big deal. Just like you might shrug off curt words, a catty deed, an 'offense' to someone you perceive as not likable with excuses for being 'mean'. They they are just like us! The same types of excuses and shrugs--- but on a higher degree.

Simple version: I could ask why. Why did you snip that person off. You answer, because they bug me. So, was your perception really a just cause to be mean? Why did you feel you could excuse being mean? Did you really want to hurt another human being? Did you ever spend time plotting to show them, get even or such behaviors? Now magnify it and you have a peek into their world.

If you haven't watched an old movie named "The Bad Seed" you haven't met the real Jodi Arias.

I know that everybody's PTSD experience is different but it is rare that someone murders because of it! Stabby's claims of PTSD are ridiculous at best!
I had a high school teacher share a similar story about a Vietnam vet, I guess they didn't know he was a vet and that he had PTSD but they went to 4th of July fireworks with him and i guess he curled up in a ball and started rocking back and forth. I'll never forget the way my teacher talked about it, it was like he was gonna have a break down just by relating this guys breakdown. It's one of the few times I've ever seen anybody talk about something that shook them up as bad as that. Particularly jarring since this was one of the most easy-going, relaxed, and fun teachers I'd ever had. It was a gut punch to see this guy like that and he wasn't even the one who hd the break down! it still bothers me. I'm just glad i wasn't there for the poor gentleman's break down.

Ok people, all this talk about PSTD, borderline personality disorder, psychological tests, high IQ, GSD, bear and tiger, battered women trauma, etc etc etc ARE A BUNCH OF CRAP.
Martinez needs to focus on the real issue in this case which is premeditation!!! PREMEDITATION! and PREMEDITATION! gas cans, car rental, covering tracks, gun stolen, cellphone disconnected, cleaning scene. This case needs to get back on track for the love of God!

Patience my friend :) JM had to rebut the defenses expert witnesses with his own. Which he did beautifully.

Now he will begin to bring it home with Walmart and Tesoro proving she lied about gas cans, with a computer tech with Mesa PD, and more witnesses we don't even know about. I have faith in The Prosecutor!

This is part of the REBUTTAL case for the prosecution. Martinez had to REBUT what Dr. Samuels and Alyce said.

They didn't claim PTSD to defend the murder. They threw that in in hopes of selling her ridiculous memory loss. [ppl getting it mixed in, confused is a resulting bonus].
What her defense by law actually is, is self defense. Conveniently, she just happens to remember enough for her 'he attacked me' self defense.

Expect more PTSD for many dx in the future. It has been said to be one of the most recently abused, misused DX.

Bless you, wt...your common sense is so refreshing.

I just keep wondering, what went on inside that twisted little brain...wouldn't you think, when she decided 'I'm gonna kill him' and started planning it, there might have been a tiny alarm bell going off? Like, 'gee these are scary thoughts, maybe I need help'? I guess it happens all the time but for some reason this particular case blows my mind.

That, and how she was so calm and matter-of-fact afterwards, even just hours after she did it. Meeting up with that Ryan guy, totally normal. I can almost understand how she could flip out and kill Travis in a blind rage better than I can her being so serene and unbothered afterwards. No one she was with that next day noticed anything out of the ordinary. I would think someone who had done a thing like that would be distraught, shaking, SOMETHING!

I dunno, I was just hoping for some insight from this Dr. person...

Was there a remake of that movie made with McCauley Culkin and Elijah Wood called the "Good Son"?
