Okay, finishing up with the afternoon session right now. I had to forward through JWs cross. I found her to be just nauseating. She acted like such a bitch and Nurmi irritated the hell out of me with his stupid faces, smirks, and shaking his big head. These are the same people crying mistrial and foul over every little thing, correct? Yet, they behave so very inappropriately. Talk about hypocritical. I took no issue with JW until her behavior with Dr.D. At least JM is consistent with his behavior on direct and/or cross. JW is acting like a bitch to another woman....just find that interesting. She officially disgusts me. Cheers!
Actually iirc, the question was something along the lines of "If you diagnosed someone with PTSD after a bear attack, would you throw out the PTSD diagnosis if it was really a tiger attack?"
Very different than whether seeing a bear would trigger PTSD symptoms in someone who had PTSD from a tiger attack. And Dr. D's answer ("Yes, that would invalidate the PTSD diagnosis") made no sense to me.
hum, I can't remember for sure but either way, would have to say it was still a bad example. She was bad at giving examples all along. I'm not worried though. Deliberations is where it really happens. Could be we got a liar on the jury. Someone so against the DP, they lied to get on just to hang the jury. That would be a real kick for us addicts, [flashbacks to Spector] but ... Justice has ways of redoing and getting it right if that happens. I believe this year, next, or whenever, the case is strong, her def weak and her time will run out. It's just a matter of when.

No way is that American English! It is ignorance of correct usage of the English language, period. I, too, cringe when I see such blatant errors. Same as confusion of there, their, they're...here and hear....who and whom, etc. It's basic grammar, taught since the first grades. Unfortunately, not everyone pays attention. I seen, I ain't, should of, could of....all like hearing little fingernails scratch down the chalkboard of my mind. LOL
Right on cricket
I agree with you! I just so despise her and it disgusts me to the core that she is making all this shit up and force feeding it to TA's family just so that she can "try" to get away with murder! (I don't believe she ever would have cut it as a "real"pro photographer though)
I don't disagree with you. She killed him from hating him and being pissed off at him. BUT wtf does that have to do with BPD? I think the diagnosis makes her more sympathetic to the jury. She's a messed up love sick wacko.
Maybe that is what happened. But then after "flipping the switch" she was such a good actress that she kept him in the dark for a couple weeks while she planned his murder and then charmed her way into his house, bed, and shower? Even when in her twisted BPD heart she hated him 100% she was still able to have sex, take pics, hang out with him until the right moment and then kill him? I'm just not buying BPD as a complete explanation for premeditated murder. If the prosecution wants to call her BPD then I think it sounds more like she snapped, flipped the switch in the spur of the moment, and killed him. Heat of passion killing.
She may have BPD I just don't think it's the defining trait behind premeditated murder, especially as the prosecution has presented their case. You're telling me she is crazy and unstable, prone to wild emotional swings. I buy that. Sounds like someone who might kill on the spur of the moment, doesn't it?

Don't know where you get the idea that the BPD is being proposed as a defining trait behind premeditated murder. That's not what Dr Demarte testified to. Dr Demarte's examination/testing of of Stabby was in response to the defense's experts/testing/testifying to PTSD and The Fog and Battered Woman's Syndrome.

Because having BPD does not render a person insane. It would not be a reason for "memory loss." For being out of touch with reality, for any period of time. The defense has tried to say that Jodi suffered from PTSD (which she does not) because that might be a way to explain why she had the "fog" during, and in the aftermath of, the killing. It fits the battered domestic partner line of their defense. But, this doctor diagnosed her with BPD. If that is true, and the PTSD theory is debunked, then Jodi has no explanation for "forgetting" the murder. Hence, she is lying and has been lying the whole time.
sorry people for my posting flurry............... i had been gone and "wanted/needed" to catch up...................
the new eggtree news just came out and is very entertaining, if anyones interested: Jenny Makes a Great Accidental Prosecutor......... http://eggtreenews.wordpress.com/
Yeah this expert was to debunk the i cant remember what happened when i stabbed him but it was still aelf defense because i was battered woman. Juan just threw in the BPD for good measure to explain ehy she had elevations on some of the areas.
Laymens is all I have and I'm not ashamed of it, or need a pretense. I'm very happy the old gray matter hasn't left me in depends drooling on myself ... yet.
shot stabbed and slit, over kill overkill w BPD, DV, PTSD, MMPI, MCMI .. the level of kill is the scale of law the jury will get.

I know, and you're right! Dr D is more in touch with our times, hence, the common sense remarks. It's not a judgement on her skill, it's an intuition about her age, tis all! As wt says, "some people never acquire common sense", even with age and/or life experience! Dr D has, at least, 2 of the 3, and it would interesting to see her testimony in 10-20 yrs times.
If you are evolving emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, whatever the label (common sense), I'm not sure you even know who you are until you are at least in your 40's or 50's! And most in their 20's and 30's are going to be reacting to that statement right now, as I would have done! But hey, hang around, there's so much more to know! It's just so fucking shitty, 'law of life', crappy toilet, bullshit, not fair: that you didn't know it 20-30 years ago!
Crap, but true!
Coconut, big daddy, chunky monkey. BPD is all those points that Demarte listed. Emotional dysregulation is crucial aspect of who Jodi is. As you so rightly point out, I haven't interviewed her, but it seems to me she wasn't able to recover...to self-soothe from the intensity of her rage and it continued to build and build. The emotion of hate is like heartburn that won't go away. And she doesnt have the emotional tools to end the burn. She ended up hating him. Despising him. But. And here is the big but, if she didn't kill him, she would have to see him since he was part of her life.
Premeditation can occur in seconds but we see that along the way to visit Darryl and Matt, she made a decision to go to Travis. If she was going to visit with positive intentions, there was no need to hide the trip. None.
The slashing of the tires to me is rage. Pure raw rage. We see a build up of aggression over time.
Bwahaha Love it!3. Then the mad-cat-with-a-law degree climbed the walls shrieking for awhile over executive functions of the brain shutting down during trauma. During her utterly inept diatribe, she managed to establish (with attitude) not once, not twice, not “thrice,” but four whole times, that Stabby demonstrated higher level functions by cleaning up the crime scene, removing weapons, deleting pictures of Travis being killed, and throwing the camera in the washing machine to destroy evidence. Derrrrrrp!!
6. Jenny must’ve gotten into some meth-laced catnip over lunch, because she really upped the b*tch switch when she got back. DeMarte brought up Stabby physically abusing her own mother, and Jenny hissed, “You just wanted to throw that out there, that she hit her mother?” The hypocrisy is rich, considering her entire case is “throwing things out there” about Travis. Herpitty derp derp derpitty derrrrp!
7. Since we’re on the topic of hypocrisy….So about that Valentine’s Day email Stabby Einstein authored, detailing her rage issues… According to Jenny the Intolerable, Janeen shouldn’t assume it was true, because she wasnt there when it was written to confirm context. But LaViolette can spend weeks on the stand doing that very thing to Travis. Herpa derpa der derpitty derp derrrrrrp!

Still can't believe that Jenny asked Dr Demarte if it would not have been appropriate to do some follow-up on TA's e-mails to determine what he meant by what he wrote. Dr Demarte responded that she couldn’t follow follow-up, because TA is dead. And then Jenny actually said, “So you can’t confirm information with a dead person, right?”
