If you look closely at the girl who lost her leg you'll find it's actually bent and tucked behind her (look by her left buttock).
I saw that one, but what about her other leg? She has both on the stretcher?

Do you think they just put them on the stretcher?
Yes, they would just put them on the stretcher. You can tell her legs are mangled in the stretcher pic. They just unfolded her and straightened her up on the stretcher. It appears they are performing CPR. The guy in the yellow button down is bagging her and the guy in the yellow coat with black/yellow hat looks like he is riding on the stretcher, performing chest compressions with his left hand.

    On another note.......

What I find so confusing about the first pic is you can see Jeff on the right side of the pic. He is trying to get up, moving around, obviously conscious. Then there is a guy in a blue/yellow tracksuit looking down at him, but facing the pile of people. Then you have the lady checking for signs of life on the two women and another guy providing aid to a person we can't see. Then there is the lady half laying on the ground next to the guy with his butt facing us.

It makes more sense to go to Jeff because he is obviously alive, but he is over there crawling around by himself.

The pic is just so hard to comprehend and I, honestly, have no idea how I would react in responding to this incident. I hope I would have helped Jeff before I checked pulses. That may sound terrible, but that's the way it is. You help the people who are obviously showing signs of life before someone who looks like they are dead. Whether they are dead or not. If they aren't moving, help others who are first because they have the better chance of survival. It's called triage.

I think her left leg was probably folded up underneath her towards the right side of her body. I think the leg poking out from underneath her left side is her right foot/leg.

ETA: I'm watching the service on CNN and the President and First Lady are falling asleep. I can't really judge them because they probably haven't slept since Monday, but I'm sure they will get hell for it.

Well, I'm going to call it: white separatist trying to make a point before the senate vote for gun control about how we need to protect ourselves from the INSURGENTS. Worked beautifully, terrorism won. High fucking five.

A friend of mine says this site is always days ahead of mainstream media. FOX news says the gov't has photos of possible suspects, but don't want to release them yet. Here they are:

Does anyone know if this is a picture of the dad and brother of the little boy? They appear to be looking down at something horrific?

Those 2 supposed "suspects" were already discussed last page. One is a high school track athlete. As far as Front Page Magazine, just to give you an idea of their credibility, their 2009 and 2010 Persons of the Year were Glenn Beck and the Tea Party.

According to everything I read those guys were cleared already. There are some posts about them on the previous page.

yeah - all the comments on that page were from racist little pricks.

Smashie, I believe that the woman's legs could really have just been dislocated, or the bones broken. They are there, but twisted around. I drew some purple arrows in the pic to show where they are located. The left leg is folded up underneath her; the right leg is pushed out to the right, but you can see the tip of her shoe. Compare the arrowed shoes to the kind of shoes she is wearing on the stretcher.

Ahhh..didn't see the right tip of the shoe til you pointed it out. Thanks for the clarification. I feel so bad for these people ...the woman on the right was in such shock. Poor Jeff....damn, I am amazed he survived.

Not being a dick but are we positive that is all one person? I see why people are speculating that it is but has that been confirmed anywhere?

To clarify : That the girl who died (Krystle) is the girl in blue with her leg under her, and is also the chick on the stretcher?

Im wondering id given the confusion and line of sight of those responders- did they not realize how badly he was hurt since he was "sitting up"? Obviously if they could see his legs but Im wondering if they didnt recognize what they were looking at right away, as there are a few people sitting up..they may have thought he was bleeding but not legless ( sorry to be crass)

yes. At first I thought no but when I kept comparing it is the same girl. The capped sleeve shirt was probably cut off of her for life saving measures and she had a sports bra underneath. What cinched it for me is the sneakers are the same

I don't think anyone has confirmed 100% that it's her. But putting the puzzle pieces together you can see that it is. She had the blue shirt on and in the stretcher pic you can tell it was cut away but still on her arm..same jeans, same socks & shoes.

Not crass at all. That's why I don't want to judge them. I have no idea what I would do in this instance. I train, every year, on mass casualty scenarios (shooting, plane crash, bus accident, multi-vehicle highway crash), but I have not trained with a bombing scenario. Not that the training would really be any different. To be in a situation like this, there is no telling how one would react. I can sit here and arm chair respond as to what should have been done, but I can't say I would have even done anything different than what actually happened if I were there. Clear as mud?

It's totally possible no one actually saw him and it's possible they saw movement from him and thought he wasn't as bad off as he was. Arm chairing here again; 360 degree scene size up. 1) Personal safety, 2) Safety of your comrades, 3) Safety of the victim(s). In doing the scene size up (which can/is part of sizing up your own personal safety) the entire scene should be scoped for hazards (telephone poles slanting, wires hanging around, structure of surrounding buildings, sings hanging, light poles, suspicious packages, explosives, people with guns, liquids/chemicals present, smells, the list can go on and on. It doesn't have to be done with in seconds. It can take as long as necessary to protect your own safety. It doesn't help anyone if first responders rush into action without performing their 360. A perfect example is the second explosion. Another example, albeit off topic, is the explosion in Texas last night. First responders were killed and injured. Anhydrous ammonia involved? Evacuate and call HazMat. Stage far enough away and up wind and wait for the go ahead from HazMat.

I understand wanting to rush to aid those in need. Believe me, I want to, but it doesn't do the victim or myself any good if I rush into something and we both end up injured and/or dead. If you notice in many of the pics and videos, it is the bystanders who are rushing to aid the victims first. The bystanders are the ones who are pulling the barricades out of the way. Many of the first responders are looking around, standing, pointing, speaking/listening to portable radios. I think the first responders see the bystanders helping and then they jump into action. Not because they didn't want to help or didn't know what to do. They were, more than likely, performing their 360 and cut it short because of the chaos of bystanders putting their own lives in danger to help the victims. Muddier?

This is just me arm chairing it, though. I know I sound pretty judgmental, ungrateful even, and a dick, but it is what is suppose to happen. The knee jerk reaction to the layperson is to help. They don't think about possible hazards that can endanger themselves. I'm not hating on them and they helped save many lives, so I am grateful to them, but also fearful for their safety. Muddierer?

no. all of this makes perfect sense and does not sound the least bit harsh. if you're trained personnel, you don't want to make the situation any worse.

On UK news, London Marathon organisers to donate 2pnds for every runner who crosses the finishing line, to a Boston Memorial Fund. Hope it inspires thousands more to finish, I think there are around 45,000 odd registered runners. I wasn't aware there was a memorial fund yet, but nice to see the show of solidarity for the U.S.

I'm glad it makes sense to someone other than myself. I'm sure if punker, kevansvault, and snowfallsoon was in here, they would support what I am saying (they are the only people I can remember who are/were first responders) is fact with training, not an opinion. Well, it is an opinion because I agree with the training. lol

Here is a picture of Krystle and her friend Karen taken that morning.

Note Karen's bag (turquoise and white floral) - it is to the left of Krystle in the larger pulse-taking photo. Also Krystle's turquoise tennis shoes are the same in the above photo and the stretcher photo.

There's supposedly going to be an FBI news conference at 5pm today. It's on the FBI site (didn't see if posted in a news article yet) and I don't want to link it here (paranoid).

well, it is mostly common sense. i mean - it makes sense that that the trainings teach that. to me, at least - it's logical. in the heat of the moment, that training should come in very handy. people tend to think and react too emotionally.

Hah, I am sure there are way sketchier sites discussing this at great length. www.infowars.com

Does anyone else think this could be Krystle's friend, Karen?

Hair color is the same - her bangs are 'blown back' in the pulse-taking photo so it stands to reason that they could be here, too.

    Opinions?
