We are in agreement on Jodi's guilt. I think what adds to our madness is her non caring attitude during all of this, her perpetual writing in the book, showing notes to JW. At one point yesterday, the closeup showed a drawing she had started, I assume it to be of the top of a head. I wish the camera had not swayed away at that point.
ETA awwwww, now I quoted the wrong mds'er. Sorry songbirdsong, I think it was Ian1? I was quoting- answering my poorly timed question re the twitter.
Thankyou, today has been a wonderful lesson, reminding me why I usually don't post until I've read EVERYTHING including all links & whatever the hell else I can find. Posting from 50 pages back usually doesn't end well for me. Actually strike usually, this thread's the only time I've done it. Anyway, I'm almost caught up & I will never again post from pages back. Apologies everyone, ignore everything. Except the colonial post. That one stands.

I always thought that she didn't kill him immediately because she wanted to give him one last shot to change his mind about Cancun... ya know? ONE more chance to give her what she figures was rightfully HERS? A chance to come to his senses, ditch the Mimi broad, and make the situation right (in her wonky eyes). That was HER trip, she deserved it... or so she thought. Maybe they slept (since she did get there late, right?), she tried to lure him back in with the poon, since that always seemed to work before... but, when they got up (& maybe even a double feature if the office sex is to be believed), it didn't work, he showed her the door, and she just lost it?
Whether or not the shower photo shoot was staged (which seems kinda doubtful when you read his blog and hear about his bathroom/privacy issues) or she snuck back in and surprised him I cannot tell for sure. Maybe she just wanted some mementos? A couple last pics...
As for the gun shot coming first or last. Gots me, lol.
Maybe it came 1st, but then jammed (like in story version 3524, her ninja one) so she had to resort to using the knife. Personally I am leaning towards her using the gun to maintain control over him or to be used as a last resort (cuz gunshots are loud). that last photo of him sitting in the shower he looks so uncomfortable... definitely NOT like he is posing to show off his almost-6pack. I think she got him down into that vulnerable position and then began the attack on him. The viciousness shows how ANGRY she was at him. Pure overkill! Maybe the gunshot came last because,, like a lot of people said, he just would. not. die.
He died like he lived, fighting for his life, for a better outcome.
I think the over kill with the knife is typical of people who kill people out of rage, right? Anger fuels it. Isn't that why, when people are stabbed multiple times, the immediate person they expect is a close person to the victim? Stabbing is a very personal way to kill someoneand she didn't just stab him, she butchered him front and back... slit his throat for good measure. THAT'S some crazy rage right there. I'm not sure of the psychological(?) reasoning behind it, and I know I am totally butchering my explanation here, but I hope you get the idea of what I am trying to say =)
No kidding... I come on here to catch up and read they are blowing up the eye pic and looking for god knows what! Didn't we discuss that - for a million pages - ages ago? I guess they have some cathing up to do themselves. I wonder how many far-fetched things we could hatch here that would wind up in court? if I didn't want as swift as possible justice for Travis and the Alexanders I would suggest trying to see what crazy scenarios that we could come up with, just to see if they appear in a certain arizona court room. The defense team clearly scouts here for strategy, no doubt.
Not necessarily. Maybe the jury wants to understand the fuckery that is Ms. LaViolette? I know I'd wanna know how in the fuck she came to some of the conclusions she did, what her corroborative evidence was, how she sleeps at night (which would have been asked if I were on the jury....), and stuff like that. there may be one or two people on the jury trying to be absolutely CERTAIN they have all the story (they are up for putting someone to death, after all).
PLUS, in the long run I think it benefits prospective clients of hers in the future to know exactly how she sees things and handles herself in court, what they might be getting into if they were stupid enough to try and use her as their 'expert' witness.
Personally I think HE was the one to throw the bedding and such in the wash. I mean, they had just done the dirty on those bad boys so there was sex juices and KY all over the place. He was getting ready to leave for Cancun... he seems like the super clean type that wouldn't leave stuff like that lying around, ya know?
(snipped for brevity) LOL!!!
Yes, welcome LLH713 and all others. Don't be shy; we don't bite. Well, some of us do, but use the Ignore button.
If JA gets the DP will she want it in the butt???
Got to go out of town to tend my ill sis for a couple of days so may not have a chance to join in. Getting on the internet at her house is a major chore. Guess I have to rely on HLN to see the love of my life doing his thing. God, this is gonna be good!
Lots of people have already answered this, but it's fun to share theories.
Unlike many people, I do not believe Jodi ever planned to give Travis a chance to take her back. From her the writings in her journal, I believe that Travis had become the target of all the anger and frustrations in her life. She mentioned how sick he made her feel, how she wished she didn't love him, and in both those entries, I believe she said she needed to kill the things that were holding her back.
When Travis sent her those nasty texts, it was the end of the rope for her. She had to get rid of him, so she stole her grandparents' gun. She decided to use Ryan Burns as an alibi, and then she offered to take photos of a friend's child in CA so she'd have a reason to be traveling south.
When she arrived, I don't think she and Travis had sex. I don't believe her when she says they had a sex marathon. I think she got there at a time when she knew no one besides Travis would see her enter. I think her plan was to wait for him to be in the shower, and then kill him there.
I believe one of two things happened: He showered while she was sleeping, and so didn't get her opportunity, or she went in when he was showering to do the deed and he kicked her out (or he simply wasn't in a position she felt like she could attack him and kill him).
I don't believe her intention was to stay there all day, because the longer she stayed, the thinner her alibi was going to be.
So she hung around most of the day, all the while the two of them are grating on each others' nerves. She packs most of her stuff up, and puts it in the car, but asks if he wouldn't mind if they take a nap. She woke him up with sex, and started to take pictures of him, and had him take pictures of her.
She waits a little longer, but Travis is not getting in the damn shower. She's now added a ton of time to her alibi. A smart person would have just called the whole thing off, but Jodi had to kill Travis, because everything was all his fault.
She's running out of time, and she knows that if Travis gets on his conference call before he takes his shower, she will be completely out of time. So she tells Travis she needs to go, but before she does, she wants to take some pictures. She cajoles, whines, and nags Travis to take a shower so she can take the photos of him like she's always wanted, and hey, doesn't he want to immortalize what great shape he's in right now for his trip to Cancun?
Once he's in the shower, she grabs the knife from her purse, and puts it in her pocket. I don't think she had the gun on her. Maybe she'd hidden it already, or maybe she left it in her purse.
While Travis is seated, she kneels to take his photo. She 'drops' the camera on purpose, and as he instinctually reaches out to grab it, she stabs him in the chest. She stabs him again, and then he pushes her down. While she's on the floor, he staggers out of the shower. She stabs at him again, and this is where the defensive wounds happen. He tries to stop the blade from going in, he may even have grabbed the blade in an attempt to wrench it away from her.
Fury drives Jodi, and she keeps stabbing at him as he stumbles to the sink. He aspirates blood there, and she stabs him several times in the back. He stumbles away from her, towards the hall, and she attacks again, landing the slices on his head. He leans his back against the wall in a desperate attempt to protect it, and she stabs him a few more times in the chest.
Survival instinct pushes him on, despite the tremendous blood loss and pain. He manages to get to the end of the hall, where he must feel like if he can just get to the bedroom door, he'll be free. But Jodi comes up behind him, stabs him once or twice more in the back, driving him to his knees or all fours.
Enraged to the point of madness, Jodi slices his throat to stop him from leaving. He collapses and bleeds out. I believe that this is the point where Jodi stands over him, pleased with her kill, and then she realizes how far he's moved.
She drags him back towards the shower. She leaves him at the sink for a minute so she can rest. Travis is either dead, or has the smallest traces of life left in him. He gurgles -- possibly the remnants of air in his lungs leaving his dead body, or the last futile attempts of the body to continue to breathe.
Jodi is furious that the throat slitting wasn't enough, gets the gun, and shoots him. I believe she was going to shoot him several times, but the gun jammed.
After that, there is silence. She drags Travis into the shower to get rid of evidence.
She tries to clean up the scene -- not to really get rid of the blood, but in an attempt to damage the scene enough that she doesn't leave evidence behind. She isn't as thorough as she wants to be, because she's running out of time. Not only is her alibi totally shaky now, but the roommates might be returning very soon.
The clean-up is done in a rush, and she fortunately misses the handprint. She changes, puts on some bandages for her finger injuries, and prepares to leave. She tosses stuff into the washer, including the camera, and thinks she's covered all her bases. Once she's out of AZ, she calls Travis to try to throw the police off her scent.
And that's it.
I know we'll never know the full motive, nor will we ever know how it all truly went down, but this is my own thoughts on the matter.
Poor Travis. :( No matter if he was a player or not, this is not how he should have died.
I think they get their ideas from Jodi's friends, you know, the JAII site, who troll the internet looking for ways to save their precious Jodi.
I'm a little foggy, but didn't Mds'ers figure out money for Jodi is going to Aimee Lantz from Yreka. The same Aimee who helped Angela get into rehab? Isn't she a social worker? A DV worker, maybe? Is that where Jodi got the idea for the DV defense?
Just sayin'.....![]()
I still like this one the best..

Sorry for the wasted death space, but yeah, this is my favorite.
reminder Court set for 9:30
Judge Stephans only has four other cases before Arias this morning but one is a complex capitol one with 7 defendants so 'on time' as usual might be up in the air.

Oh, boy. Won't it be fun to hear Jodi's pleas to spare her life? Or will she do the manipulation thang she does and beg for the DP? Either way, I am going to have my barf bag ready.
Good observations, the fact that Juan mentioned yesterday that Nurmi's stall tactics for a mistrial were adding "pennies to the kettle" or something of that nature has me thinking that he has been looking into financials. He could have caught that about ALV.
This is bothering me, if there were in fact roommates there, why didn't any of them see the white Ford Focus in the driveway with no license plates? I don't remember anything about roommates mentioning anything about that. I know Travis had company all the time (open-door policy) but you would think they were asked what they observed when they left the house?
Getting it on record was smart, let's hope that the FB page gets mentioned too, just not by Juan. He was right, Nurmi would go for more misconduct if he pursued it himself.
Welcome to the show!![]()
