It might not be uncommon in a narrow sense, but murder and lying about having 3 gas cans lies, road trip coverup +++++ is not common.

Uh, no, they are not my compass one bit! I am certain JM will have it all tied together in his rebuttal. Just became confused about the stipulation.

And a missing 25 caliber gun, turning cell off, turning license tag upside down, coloring hair brown in case she was seen. Someone would think of the person he was taking to Mexico. Yep..all tied together in one common thread.

JM has rebuttal with Wal-Mart and Tesoro to prove the 3rd gas can. He has Dr Demarte to bury what's left of Samuels and Alyce. He has evidence that Stabby's story of jumping on shelves to grab gun is bullshit and who knows what from his own computer expert.

    Bring on rebuttal!
I'm with you on that. This may not be a big deal in the big picture. The jury is probably saying WTF because they didn't see the enlarged image with the drawing on it. Let's hope they don't and forget about this day entirely. The mistrial motions were denied, and I am relieved it's all over. Wish I knew about ALV though.

If anything....the jury is going to look harder at that picture of Travis trying to figure out why the judge said Jodi was not holding a knife or gun in that picture.
as of this morning he was working cases for the state. He may of just wrote his resignation papers

Newbie here but wanted to jump in. Does anyone else think it is possible she had the knife stuck in her sock? She said she had cuts on her ankles and I can't imagine why else they would be there but then again maybe it was just a lie.

Either way, I don't think the stipulation helps the defense. The last picture was the one where you see hit butt/hip/leg. Maybe she was reaching for the knife when she took that one?

Y'all are fucking great here by the way!

I can't imagine one juror not believing it was premeditated. You never know..

It does not prove her story was true. We don't know if she had a knife or a gun in her hand when she took that pic (I don't think she did actually). But that does NOT make the rest of her story true. I think, and have always thought, she went and got a weapon after that pic was taken.

It is not coming in. They made the stipulation so that they do not have to bring that piece of evidence in.

That is why I am concerned. Is the Bryan guy coming back to testify about his take on the retina? If so, why would JM agree to a stipulation that would eliminate he holding a weapon? I am sure he has thought it all out, since I do believe he is a brilliant prosecutor.

I don't get why anyone is upset about this. Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see how it makes a particle of difference whether she was holding a weapon at that particular time or not, it doesn't change anything that I can see. We have the exact same timeline as before that proves her self-defense story was impossible, as well as all the other evidence that disproves it (ME's testimony, bullet trajectory, closet.) And none of the premeditation evidence is affected either.

Please enlighten me if I'm missing something here...

Is it common for people to lie about buying/returning a third gas can?

Maybe I am indifferent but I think it was a good decision to keep us from that torture and let us get to rebuttal.

She could have had the knife in a holster taped to her leg. Good thought.

You are not missing anything, I am with you. This stipulation only proves that at that exact time (2 minutes before the killing) she didn't have a gun or knife in her hand. She surely had them after!!!

This might sound like a very dumb question ( I am admitting it before I get attacked), but what difference does a 3rd gas can make? It has been established that she lied. Why would she need a 3rd can and what does it really mean, other than one more lie? Why did she fill it up? That was another question. She filled it up going back to CA from Utah. But why use the gas cans??

The point of the gas cans is that she was calling OG for them at the end of May. She claimed she wasn't planning to go to Mesa - it was a last minute decision. I don't know how much desert is in the trip to Utah, I live on east coast and have never been to that area. I still can't get over the case of Costco water in the trunk. She said she was thirsty, but can you imagine how hot that water must have been? No mention of a cooler.

Remember, she went to get dressed and Travis thought she was gone. I bet she had a backpack with the gun and knife. Took it into the bathroom so it would be handy in case one failed.

I don't even remember the specifics, but she was so adamant about returning it. She answered a jury question about it and told them an outright lie. Maybe JM wants to emphasize she lied in response to juror question as well as his.

Welcome! I believe there is a chance she had the knife duct-taped to herself somehow. There was duct tape found but there has not been an explanation for it.
I can't remember now if JA tried to explain it as being the body bug. But we've seen a picture of the actual body bug in evidence.
Here is a link with evidence photos:

Camera in right hand, weapon in left be it knife or gun.

Either Arias has wings or her left (strong) arm is raised above her shoulder bent or straight out.

I hate, hate, hate it when facts are withheld from the jury. Legal shenanigans. When it starts it handcuffs the jury, and juries are extremely handcuffed by the law and judges instructions.

    Really surprised JM stipulated.

TOO MANY Coincidences & Facts to be concerned about Juan & the defense agreeing that JA was not wielding a gun or a knife in the 5:29:20 picture of Travis iris.

    *The theft of a handgun, VCR/DVR & 30$ from her grandmother's house
but not several other guns, stored in the same cabinet as the .25 caliber gun that was
stolen, were left untouched, as well as a large amount of quarters that were on top of the
cabinet. And Jodi's laptop was conveniently hidden in a laundry basket & was not stolen.
*Jodi drove over 1000 miles to Travis'
*The gas cans from Darryl (JA asked several times to borrow)
*The VCR/DVD remote control (JA came back hours later to return OR forgot to give him w/ the
"exchange" of a dvr/vcr in return for gas cans)
*Third gas can purchase w/ no proof of return
    *Gas receipts
*Rental Car 90mi from home & changed because it was red to white
*Blonde hair when rented/ Brown hair when returned rental car
*Arias turned off her mobile phone saying it died/lost charger
*Rear plate upside down & missing front/Utah
*The bullet casing is on top of blood
*The gun shot would have incapacitated Alexander if came 1st as JA claims
*Jealousy as the motive- Stalker tendencies>hacking emails/facebook/texts
    *Behavior after the murder
*Two def expert witness's attest Arias shot while in the closet/differs from JA story
*Three very different stories Arias gave
*No pedophilia found anywhere on Travis' computer or home
*Never heard an ok or indication from Travis to be recorded on Sex tape
*No proof of Valentines spidey underwear gift
*No proof that Travis gave Arias Tshirt & pink shorts bearing Travis Alexanders name
*Secret note hidden in the pages of magazines
*No proof of Travis owning a gun
*The time between the last Alive shower picture to the time of the foot picture where Travis is
bleeding down his shoulder & his foot is relaxed taken in the hallway is 1 minute & 46
seconds (only 62 seconds between the ceiling pic & hallway pic)
    Just to name a few...

I live on the east coast too! Well, she had to have water to wash herself off. She knew there was going to be blood and she just could not walk into a convenience store and buy water, or use a restroom without being noticed. In fact, I bet she was jumping for JOY that it took them 5 days to find Travis.
