The prosecution receives a base salary regardless how many hours they are in court.
Nurmi receives 250 dollars every hour he is attending the trial. So yeah, the longer the trial, the better for Nurmi.

Yeah, and the jurors arguing over it. I think that may be the whole point for DT because no two people see the same thing. I hope Judge does not allow. Deliberations will take forever if the jury delves into this area too deeply. There always seems to be one who wants to review ALL of the evidence.

I believe this whole day will have been a huge waste of time and money (for AZ taxpayers) but I suppose this type of thing is somewhat normal? I mean in regard to the defense trying to get a mis-trial for various reasons, not the lengths Nurmi & Willmott have gone as far as prosecutorial misconduct, etc).

Wow, Coconut, this is the most idiotic statement I believe you have ever made! First of all, living outside of the US in NO way discounts the viewpoints or opinions of current events happening in the world. That is just plain old stupid. Secondly, if Travis were a close member of YOUR family, would you feel differently? There is NO disputing the fact that Jodi, alone, is responsible for turning Travis Alexander into a brutally slashed corpse. That is the one fact that she can't sweep under the carpet, though she's tried like hell. The family has to live with her handiwork for the rest of their lives. All the power to them to keep Travis' memory alive, because it shows that Jodi cannot just wipe him off the face of the planet, like a smudge on her glasses. I hope she is haunted for the rest of her miserable life.

Hmmmmm AnnieBelle here is where I have to respectivly disagree with you .Your scenaro of "if it was a member of YOUR family" really doesn't hold water here.It's not your beast of burden to convey the nucular family's way's of dealing with the loss of Travis.You can't nor can coconut wear those shoes with any certainty as to how they feel.Can you feel compassion? sure,Can you ask for justice?sure ,but you can't ask nor can coconut answer "if things would be different".That's a pair of shoes no one can wear other than those who are in them....jmo.

It's probably safe to say that the budgetary limit and added supplementary appropriations equals the balance in the State Treasury. Justice has no price!!! If it comes down to the short strokes, they'll have to turn to good ole Sheriff Joe to come up with the savings. You are right to be concerned.
