Don't you find it curious that this bad cut wasn't noticed by police just 9 days after if it was bad enough to cut a tendon. Or that she only received one cut in such a bruttal frenzy? Most chilling to me is her latest words about it from AL, she cut it on an apple ....... Adams apple! Typical style of JA to play on words.

That is, there are two sides, and the rules of the institution, evolved over centuries, demands that each of the two parties vigorously attack the other's presentation in order for the system to discern the truth and find Justice. The judge interprets and enforces the rules. She is the only neutral person in the room. The jury decides on the facts. As between the Prosecution and the Defense, they are not engaged in a co-operative venture. They are supposed to vigorously oppose each other. The process may be messy, we may not like the opponents, and it may well be the worst system we know of--except for all the others.
Um, the JURY is also neutral, or supposed to be...

I'm not criticizing Juan's tactics. I know he had no choice but to discredit the defense witnesses, but he has to realize that the defense is throwing lots of Hail Marys in an effort to distance the trial from the facts.

He did a good job keeping these witnesses on the stand for a short period of time, but there were times when it seemed like he was in a pissing match with Alyce. She has to be the most obtuse and obstinate witness I've ever seen testify. I can see how easy it would be to get frustrated with her.

My point is and I'm sure he recognizes this, that he needs to drive the trial right back to the facts, Joe Friday style in order to remind the jury of what important in this case...the facts.
I'm sure Juan has the case under control. ;-) He's done a few cases before this one.

I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but people have been weirdly critical of him and how he's not 'putting the facts out there'.

He has. But again, during the defense case, he has to poke holes in their theories. He HAS managed to establish the gas cans as majorly important. He's going to tie that up with the gas station representative. I am going to assume that this person will explain that Stabby's third gas purchase had to be for gasoline because of the store hours, or will testify that she paid at the pump, which proves that she lied to the jury about not having that third gas can.

Now that Juan will be starting his rebuttal case soon, he can take all the pieces he's laid out, remind the jurors of the facts, and present them with a mostly tidy case.

The issue that is the biggest problem for the prosecution is the CSI-mind of folks. It's what screwed the prosecution in the Casey Anthony case. People want the full story, from beginning to end, and they want it to make sense, and they want the whole thing to be wrapped in logic.

Murder is rarely logical, and unless there is video footage of things, there is always, ALWAYS room for doubt. Because murder defendents usually lie to get out of trouble, you can't always depend on whatever version they spew to be the full and honest truth. The victim cannot speak for themselves, because they are obviously deceased. So there is no neat and tidy story, and even with all the forensics available to us, they still can't explain everything we'd like to know.

One thing I want Juan to present to the jurors is that really, it doesn't even matter whether Travis was shot first or if he was stabbed first. Why? The defensive wounds. Those, more than anything else, resonate so loudly to me. Travis wanted to live. He fought. He suffered.

With regards to your other point about ALV, I will gently remind you that she is the one who turned it into a pissing contest.

For example (this is not a real exchange, but is obviously being used to show how ridiculous ALV was being):

Juan: Do you like the color purple?
ALV: I used to know someone who wore purple sweatpants. They were totally fugly.
Juan: Ma'am I didn't ask if you know anyone who wore purple. Or sweatpants. I asked if you like the color purple.
ALV: One time I was wearing a white shirt, and I accidentally spilled wine on it. What a mess!
Juan: Ma'am, are you having trouble with the question?
ALV: I don't like your tone. You're mean. You need a time out!
Juan: I didn't ask...Ma'am. Yes, or no. Do you like the color purple?
ALV: Well, it's not a yes or no question.
Juan: ....Yes or no. Do you like the color purple?
ALV: Well, I'm trying to answer, but you're being a dick. I just said I can't answer yes or no. It's complicated. What shade of purple are we talking about? I love lavendar but I hate that blue-purple. It's my least favorite color in the crayola box, to be honest.
Juan: -manages to refrain from throttling the witness-

Not really. Each juror is expected to pick and choose between the presentation of each side and decide who to believe. Deciding to send someone to death row is not being neutral. Neutral is "I'm staying out of it."

I've been looking at a few of them too. I noticed that Deanna Reid testified in 2011 at an Evidentiary hearing.

The other reasons I dont believe it is someone would have noticed at work. As a server or bartender, you can't go to work with a makeshift splint. Too many germs.

Plus its impossible to find popsicle sticks any more. Gotta buy them at a craft store.

No, neutral is impartial. Looking at all the evidence before deciding guilt or innocence. The jurors are INSTRUCTED to be neutral and impartial while the case is being presented.

I know you can't really get any lower in terms of humanity to man, than murder, but how low do you have to sink to use the injury you sustained while committing said murder, as evidence of domestic abuse to try to save your own ass?

    I know! She's a psychopath!

You didn't actually have to respond back to her, you know that right? It doesn't make you look any better. So stop.

To touch back on your posts a few pages back, but without quoting them, I believe you were adamant in your defense of ALV.

The problem I have with that defense is that she did not try to seek out other resources. The defense gave her a limited amount of information, this is true. But I don't believe she was restricted in her research. There was no indication (that I know of, at least) that suggests that she was forbidden from interviewing people other than Jodi.

If she had done her job -- really and truly done her job -- then she would have interviewed people, especially those close to TA.

The reason why she didn't do that was because (in my opinon) there was a huge risk that she would have found information to the contrary of what Jodi has spoken about. If she had allowed herself to find more information, the results would have been less favorable to Jodi. By restricting herself, she was able to shoehorn Jodi into her Table of Abuse, or whatever she calls her chart thingie.

ALV did not do her job, so she deserves very little sympathy. She chose to defend someone who murdered another human in cold-blood, and she was willing to turn a blind eye to every shred of evidence that proved her theory was not as sound as she wanted it to be.

And one more thing: I saw that you brought up that Travis went and spent time with Jodi, and blah blah, he obviously wasn't that afraid of her. Sorry, but no. Abuse victims often spend time with their abusers, even if that time is miserable and dangerous for them.

Travis was badly abused by his mother. Is it really, really that shocking to you to think that once Jodi had her claws in him, that Travis had a hard time getting away from her, even if he feared her? Fear and love often go hand-in-hand in abuse cases. It isn't always logical which part wins out.

Then she was there for the duration like a time out corner for Alyce finally.

Oh it was so great, Judge obviously wanted it all on the record so made her stay there, so awesome.

Agree, he never hurt her....perhaps neither the defense or the prosecution wanted to go as far as an x-ray because it was a slippery slope. Not broken is a problem for the defense, broken is a problem for the prosecution and neither would know what the outcome would be.

If it was a cut tendon, how in the hell did she stop the bleeding w/o stitches? I think it was a cut that caused the injury-I'm just wondering how she got the bleeding to stop.

    You missed the point.

NEUTRAL = Not aligned with either side.
IMPARTIAL = Not Biased towards any side.

Jury's role = Pick the winner under the rules.

100% agree on that! I wasn't questioning that in any way. Mildly perplexed is all that police didn't notice anything. Two different ones printed her and still not a word about it.
It's alos possible she did both, cut herself but not that bad and broke it in the attack.

I was listening to a radio show earlier - some lady named Tricia. She had on Beth Karas, Holly Hughes, and KatyCoolady. The host mentioned Jodi twittering through her friend Donovan. She went on to say that Jodi tells Donovan what to say, and HE tweets it. Twittering is her word not mine. Beth Karas correcting the host about Donovan's gender. As far as anything factual about the trial that KatyCoolady said I don't think it's worth repeating since I am always skeptical of anyone who is not an actual player in the case. She alluded to information she obtained from the family of TA but could not reveal it. She thinks she and her group are being followed, and they have "closed ranks". She did say she is fundraising for the family.

If it's a real injury at all. She might just be able to dislocate it. Which makes me wonder if she really didn't break it at all, but simply dislocated it, and reset it incorrectly. I did that to my knee, and it's uh...sort of turned the wrong direction. Whooops.

The cut doesn't have to be deep to knick the tendon. A bandaid would do. To me it is the only way she left blood at the scene. It would have hurt like a bitch though. And probably continued to hurt as the joint froze. Course, none of this was anywhere near to what Travis suffered.
