JM is a brilliant prosecutor and I think many people misunderstand that it's not his job to be NICE to witnesses.....his job is to get the TRUTH out of them. He is the only one who can stand strong and fight for the rights of the victim. And if he has to hold the witnesses by the ankles and shake 'em down, so be it. Their testimony, so far, has been total bullshit. And we know that because of the prosecutor and jury questions, not because of the testimony given under direct by the defense team.

When the defense is putting on their case, he HAD to challenge what they said. His goal is not necessarily to prove the rest of his case at this point. His goal is to make sure that the defense has nothing to stand on, and to challenge and disprove all their theories.

However, it seems that in recent times more and more people are losing their understanding of the basic principles involved. The system is adversarial. That is, there are two sides, and the rules of the institution, evolved over centuries, demands that each of the two parties vigorously attack the other's presentation in order for the system to discern the truth and find Justice. The judge interprets and enforces the rules. She is the only neutral person in the room. The jury decides on the facts. As between the Prosecution and the Defense, they are not engaged in a co-operative venture. They are supposed to vigorously oppose each other. The process may be messy, we may not like the opponents, and it may well be the worst system we know of--except for all the others.

I don't think it was broken either. Her whole story about how the finger was "broken" was so obviously flawed. If he kicked her hand it wouldn't just affect one finger and not the others.

I agree. It never looked like the results of a broken bone. It looked like a severed or damaged tendon, and that would account for why it's become more disfigured since her arrest.

I disagree. Nurmi discussed anal way more than JM. Nurmi started this shit, and I can't believe how much anal we all have been subjected to. And reading and debating will help you get to the bottom of this and see that Travis receives justice? We all hope justice is served in this case, but reading and debating isn't going to help the actual case.

This is not about helping the case. I didn't say that. Nothing anyone says on MDS will help the case...obviously. MDS is a great source for information about the case. A great source of opinion and fact about the case. Many if not all members have debated about the evidence in the case, the progress of the case, the players in the case and the eventual outcome of the case.
