Well 11 others refused to take case, so perhaps that's why ALV was only given partial information. Dirty pool, and it makes them all look bad.

Not sure if a mistrial is that easy to get-but I suspect they will keep trying.

Even if they finish this trial, there is no doubt in MY mind- Jodi will have a good case for an appeal.

    Have a good day everyone!!
I don't believe there'll be a mistrial. Even if there is an appeal, more than likely it will be upheld. I don't think there's anything so egregious that Jodi didn't get a fair trial. Besides, if she gets the DP, she'll be in appeals until she's 50 anyway.

Does anybody know what will happen on Monday? I know there is some hearing but does the defense have another witness? Does the prosecution start the rebuttal? Who is on the rebuttal witness list?

I know there were others before her, but they saw the lack of true violence. I think ALV's thoughts of violence were different and started at a lower level. I also believe her statements of not having certain things provided by the defense team was an excuse. The defense team's job is to win. I don't see why they would hold back things that would have been positive for their side. Doesn't make sense.

I have a feeling Monday won't reveal much to us. One witness is due at 11?. Isn't that the one who didn't testify the day Jean did regarding JM outside? I think other issues are coming up too. There were so many times discussed about various things, I wonder when public broadcasting will actually begin.

I've read though Travis's blog a number of times and there is so much raw human nature in it... he really wasn't a fake at all he was someone struggling to cobble a healthy happy life from a (sometimes) sad and painful set of ingredients from his childhood. My take away is he was a good guy, a work in progress (which he acknowledges, and aren't we all?) He was a good friend...MANY people have said that... that in and of itself is an accomplishment to be proud of.

Well, for cripes sakes, it was brutal that he texted her "clear out your voicemail" without saying PLEASE. Shit, that's torture and abuse and indicates controlling behavior. No wonder she butchered him.

I thought Jodi only admitting to killing him, not murdering him. The entire basis of her defense is justified killing via self defense.

Jury is coming in at 1:30 tentatively, and the Defense has not rested yet. I have no idea who will be testifying and have never seen an actual Rebuttal Witness List.

Alyce testified that she formed her opinion based on the information made available to her, then at one time I thought she implied that this was the only info she could use. Does anyone know if this is true? It seems to me being hired as an expert for a high profile murder case & putting your reputation on the line you'd want to have all the facts. In the past 2 - 3 years what would have prevented her from doing a little fact checking online?

    My Theory:
I don't know if it's allowed (legal / ethical?) but I'm sure that the defense gave her the 10 letters allegedly written by Travis that Jodi magically produced from her ass prison cell 2 years after the murder. Since they were proven to be forgeries & not permissible in court she can't mention them -- that's why she's been so vague ("other sources"?) when asked where she got her info but . . . if there's anything that would make a person judge another so harshly & be so unforgiving my guess would be pedophilia. I'm willing to bet that the foundation of her findings is based on those letters.

This involves demonstrating that the witness is motivated in his testimony by personal gain - actual payment for testifying in that particular case or the hope that testimony in this case will lead to more business as an expert witness. Repeatedly testifying for the same side during trial is also sometimes grounds for impeachment because of bias. Alyce?s testimony could be entirely stricken.

I must be a horribly abusive person. When I call my husband and he doesn't answer and I go to voice mail I tell him, "Get off the porn site and put your pecker away and answer the fucking phone!"

If unfortunately among the jury we have someone similar to the 12 duffs from Pinellas and she gets 2nd degree, I think Travis family should sue JA for damages in a civil trial. Many criminal cases (including OJ's) were followed for civil suits. That way she still should have to pay a substantial amount of money to the family. She already admitted she killed him, so the civil trial definitely would proceed.

I agree, freethinker....NO one wants to debate most issues, and that is the problem with Violet. I have respect for the fact that she is entitled to her own opinions. We all are. If our opinions differ, the idea isn't to debate them to death. It is to respect different viewpoints and move on. The "debates" leave others feeling that THEIR opinions are not being respected in return.

Big difference. OJ had $$$ from which to satisfy a civil judgment. JA doesnt except of course the millions she expects to make for her "hat series" that shes been coloring at trial.

She doesn't have any money. I don't know where the money goes from her "art" sales, but I doubt it's in her name. I don't think it's likely the family of TA will file a civil suit only to be forced to sit through more proceedings of this nature.

It doesn't matter if she has money or not, if she is found guilty in the civil trial, and she is ordered to pay a substantial amount to Travis Family, that would mean that all her monetary gains (including those from her horrible "paintings") could go to Travis family. That is why I think it is important for them to consider the civil suit in case of an adverse verdict.

Kinda ridiculous when you think about it. I would imagine everyone has dated someone that at times could have annoying traits that make it difficult to ask nicely. Shit, my wife will do things that totally drive me up a wall sometimes and I might show some irritation, verbally or nonverbally, does that make me an abuser? Not to mention, it was a text. That in itself can be hard to pinpoint as far as context is concerned.
