    @jodiannarias now has 12,600 followers.

Apparently there is something called TwitterAudit which takes a random sample of 5,000 of a user's Twitter followers and calculates a score for each follower. The score is based on the # of tweets, date of last tweet and ratio of followers to friends and is used to determine whether any given follower is real or fake. They say the scores are not perfect but are a good way to tell if someone with lots of followers is likely to have increased their follower count by fraudulent or dishonest means.

Jodi's score is 62% (meaning 62% of the followers are real.)

Apparently you can buy followers for $15 for 1,000 followers, according to Twitter...

62% of 12,600 is still a pretty good number for a single day. I'm sure Jodi is following all this from jail with great glee.

See Juan pounded in their heads that Jodi lied to what?s his face, he of course did that to
conceal the lack of pre med evidence. Looks like some of it stuck. Hopefully the jury will be
instructed that lies are not evidence of 1st degree.

    ?Please remember the admonition.?

Yeah right!!!! Is it any clearer after today that they are in fact NOT heeding the admonition? I KNEW this would be a problem!

Now HLN will pat the jurors on the back for having the same ignorant, asinine questions they?ve been asking. How do I know this without watching? Because they are a three trick pony and it?s one of their tricks. FFFFFFUUUUUU HLN.

OMG, I?m trying not to read into the intent of the Juror?s questions, but for Cryin out loud did they not listen to the testimony? They are asking questions that have been asked, crossed, asked again, crossed again and clarified five hundred times already. WTF?

Jodi looks disheartened by these questions. I hope she is able to keep the faith. Saying extra prayers for her and trying to stay positive.

ETA: Damn, her eye didn't look quite so wonky back then...must get worse as she gets older. Yikes.

I DO NOT believe for one minute that Jodi is innocent, but at some point last week the same witch trial thought crossed my mind & when I keep seeing comments about it I feel like I'm being hypocritical for not owning up to it. I think you'll find the comment has nothing to do with any similarity between Jodi & the women falsely accused of witchcraft in towns all over the world. It refers solely to the reaction of those watching the trial.

I am not making a blanket statement that every single person showing an interest in following the trial or discussing it online is unhinged & whipping up hysteria over the case. Here, and on many other forums there IS reasonable, rational & WARRANTED discussion, but there's an awful lot of unnecessary crazy shit too. You need to consider the statement in relation to the entire web & not just mds (which also has it's moments). Applying the statement selectively is a little bit ALV -ish.

There's an awful lot of blogs, fb pages, twitter, myspace, comments on news articles -the much discussed book review page on Amazon had over 550 reviews as of yesterday & it was climbing by the minute. This is no longer just a national issue for the U.S. This stuff is coming from all over the world - personally I'm about as far away as you can get from the actual trial. There is a massive world-wide reaction to this trial & that is what I think you'll find they're referring to. Comparing Jodi to the women victimised in the witch trials is not the intention.

If your whole trial experience comes almost exclusively through mds & live feeds, you're not getting the whole picture & it could seem an unreasonable statement. I fully expect to be subjected to a figurative stoning & accused of being a Jodi sympathiser for saying this. That's ok. I realise emotions are (justifiably) running high right now, maybe some of you will understand just a little where I'm coming from, after the dust has settled, maybe not.

One fact that can't be denied though, is that while it can be argued that there may be as many men suffering domestic violence at the hands of female partners, when it comes to domestic violence HOMICIDE women FAR outweigh men as victims. The long rollcall of female names is very sobering. Despite that fact, there has never been an outpouring of collective outrage like this, even for all those murdered women & children combined. Maybe that could add some perspective?
    You make some legitimate points.

I was one of the people who expressed criticism when the DT made a mistrial motion comparing the Arias case to the Salem Witch Trials. My objection was to the use of that historic example, which has zero in common with the current trial. In the Salem witch trials, totally innocent people (female and male both) were accused of witchcraft by hysterical (or malicious) young women, and the number of innocent people being tried kept growing as more and more names were added to the list by the accusing girls. In the Arias trial, Jodi admits murdering Travis, and the trial is to determine if she had a legal justification for doing so. These two situations have nothing in common.

If the DT wanted to call the backlash against Jodi and ALV a "witch hunt", that would be a bit more appropriate, if used in a modern sense, but still not that accurate, as the public is not going out and looking at all expert witnesses or domestic violence experts to see if the measure up to the standards the public seems to expect of such people. I think the closest correct term would probably be a "moral panic", although even that does not fit perfectly, but of the three possibilities, I think it is closest.

Are Jodi and ALV facing a shit storm of anger and backlash? Yep, they are, no denying that. I think the backlash is far worse for ALV than it was for Samuels because she is seen as a woman selling out (mainly) women DV victims, after spending her career allegedly being their advocate, and it makes it seem extra super duper hypocritical to a lot of people.

As far as how well known this case is, I agree, there is some world wide attention, however, the whole world is not aware of this case. Since I became officially obsessed (about the last 6 weeks or so), I have mentioned my following this case to at least 20 friends, co-workers, etc. These are very savvy, media using, news following, up on current issues kind of people. Of the 20, only one had even heard of this case, which I found quite surprising. The rest were like "Jodi who?", "what is the case about?". So while those of us who are fascinated (or watch HLN) know all about the case, it would appear that lots of very connected folks don't. HLN devoting most of their 24 hour coverage day to the case does not equal that the whole world is really interested in this case. I think a small percentage is.

Nope, not at all. No need to smile warmly and shrug your shoulders at your buddies who you came with, and will leave with, and can talk to the moment you are off the stand. Plenty of reason for a biased witness to smile and shrug at Jodi to indiecate, "hey, I tried".

He granted me creative freedom to veer from the linear syllabus and follow my own inclinations. Richard Rengal, my high school art teacher and a true master of fine art, instilled me with the confidence in my ability that I would carry into the future and do still today. It is in large part due to his ceaseless belief in my skill that I have continued my artistic pursuits years after I last walked out of his classroom.??

The art teacher at Yreka, was then and still is: Richard Rangel

She didn't even get her "mentors" name right.. not to mention the clumsy sentence structure and attempts to flaunt an advanced vocabulary...
For someone who is a self proclaimed grammar Nazi, Jodi's grammar, sentence structure and word usage are comical and often incorrect. Like someone who is trying far too hard to sound intelligent and intellectual to puff up her own inflated view of herself.

Of course she was referring to Juan. What struck me most was that Donovan Jabbasdottir felt the need to LIE about it. Why not just own it? I would have far more respect for a "fuck yeah, Matrinez is trying to have me put to death, and I hate him for it", than I would for an "oh gosh, we were absolutely not referring to Martinez, why on earth would anyone think that".

I'd love to hear the following questions from the jury:
    1) Since you are not an MD, how do you know that Jodi's finger was broken?
    2) Do you consider TA's relationship with Deanna short-term? If not, was she ever abused?
    3) Have you ever testified in favor of a male in a court of law?

I know nothing about a Susan, other than she is listed on the court record. But the one everyone has been labeling MIT in court, is Maria DeLaRosa and that is her in both lunch and supper pics that have come out.

When LaViolette used Clinton for an example of people lying, what was her point, exactly? He lied to cover up something he actually did. This only shows that some people lie to get out of trouble, not that there's some kind of nobility in lying, even if someone of high position engages in it. It's all so disingenuous that LaViolette and the defense team have to pretend that it never occurred to them that a murderer would lie simply to avoid getting caught, and not for any other complex reason. I wish a juror would just flat out ask LaViolette if she considered the possibility that Jodi lied to avoid suspicion, as most murderers do.
