Okay, a quick recap of my experience. I did not take notes so I will provide you what I have from memory, Poppycock will have much more later! It was so great meeting her, we had a great conversation. So, here goes.....Juan is a very small man! Nurmi is freaking huge! Stabby is a waif at this point, really tiny. i watched her watch the jurors when they exited and she really is studying close. Courtroom is fairly large, from tv, it looks like where Stabby sits is close to the gallery observers when in fact it is probably about 20 feet or so. I had an aisle seat next to one HLN correspondent and Katie Wicks. Spent a lot of time taking to both of them during breaks. By the way, Katie is a very sweet woman. Seats were comfortable, maybe leather or some sort of pleather movie theater type. The jury box is rather large, they have seats that swivel, saw several jurors swiveling around as they were listening. Juror 2 seems to spend a lot of time looking at Stabby, juror 7 seems like he has checked out. It is weird to see juror 5 seat empty. Juror i believe 9 has a ponytail and really seems antsy, have not seen him take any notes. Actually, no questions were put in the box while i was there.The afternoon session started out with Juan and I have to tell you, he is not loud at all. In fact, you can barely hear him. ALV you can hear fine since she has a mic in front of her. Juan questioned for about 30 minutes till no more questions. Redirect, I could hardly keep my eyes open. During one of the breaks I was standing right next to ALV while she was talking to her friends. I also walked out for the 10 minute recess with Flores. I did not say anything because I was warned by a trial regular to be very careful what you say even when not in the courtroom. I have no pictures, sadly because that same trial regular told me that they watch for people even outside taking pictures and will make you delete them on the spot. Poppycock, not knowing this got a bunch of pictures and as far as I know did not have to delete them. Lucky for her. I did get my business card autographed by Katie and she wrote justice for Travis and her name. Travis family look really worn down. Stabby's mother was her usual self, chewing gum and smiling and laughing. I remember more but for now, you can ask me whatever questions you have and I will answer them as well as I can. Thanks.

Alyce told Jodi she was sorry b/c she had to read her personal diary. Alyce was trying to build trust. Alyce doesn't feel like she was biased at all. Now Alyce is talking about people losing their children (why isn't she helping Travis' family then?) Alyce says she did not have any problems forming her opinion that Jodi and Travis had a DV relationship.

Jodi's past-Alyce is talking about the childhood friend that said Jodi played the victim.
Purple Plum and men- These two events 20 yrs apart make no pattern for Alyce regarding DV.

Dad- Alyce says Dad was abusive.
Nothing that JM said made Alyce change her opinion about Jodi.
Now they are talking about patterns. (F*ck patterns. Jodi broke the patterns)

Alyce's chart-She mostly uses it in training, but now she's naming a lot of other people's work she uses.

Sex Tape-May 10, 2008- Alyce says Travis does not sound uncomfortable. Alyce did speak with Jodi about the sexual contact. Jodi was uncomfortable with it b/c it was too soon. (HA. yeah right)

Heck yeah, just not to see ALV drone on. I will go back during rebuttal. I forgot a couple things....an observer fell asleep and was removed and the only reason I made it in before the guy was removed is because that nice observer that I was talking to in line let me go in front of her. She has gone 21 days straight. I plugged MDS to her so if she ever becomes a member, I want to say thank you in case she reads this.

Since you were there long enough to see both sides - did you notice a difference in the demeanor of the jury members when JM was up verses when JW was up? If so, in what way did that change?

I noticed a very big difference. When Juan was up, they seemed to hang in there but when JW went to redirect, they seemed to in unison all put their heads in their hands. Of course without showing emotion.

We don't know what prompted Travis to write that text message to JA. Could he have found out about the recorded sex conversation? Wonder if we will ever find out.

I wonder if they don't have it. Or, more likely, what was said wasn't allowed into evidence because it would be "prejudicial" to Jodi. If that's the case, media should be able to get all of that released via FOIA after the trial is over.

well yeah, because a mentally healthy person would move on when their love interest continues to pursue other women. Mentally healthy people don't continue in relationships that make them feel like toilet paper on the bottom of someones shoe. Sometimes I think he was acting like a cad hoping she would grow tired of him. It's a lot like Charlie and Rose with a lot of butt sex

Yeah, I don't think Travis was mentally healthy though. I'm not saying that to disparage him at all. I'm just thinking with his upbringing he had to have a lot of mental and emotional scars. I also think he felt sorry for Jodi and felt kind of kindred spirits to her, especially if she was claiming to him that she suffered all this supposed abuse by family and former boyfriends.

I've been in Travis' shoes, I just happened to live to know how right my feelings were. I can't count the times I said 'if you find me dead', or the times I even made my own jokes about it. Can't put it into words well, but, yes, I feared "I" was right while at times talking myself out of it. Even knowing how dysfunctional 'it' was, "I" was, even deciding to leave it [a few times], I never saw the knife that would be held to my throat really coming, until it was there.

TY. I'm sorry you had to deal with something like that. I thankfully experienced only 1 moment of physical abuse in my life. My fiance at the time, he was twice my size and had gotten into the drug scene. I was already torn between trying to help him stop and just getting out. I can't even remember what he was mad about, but I don't think it even had anything to do with us; but he put his hands around my throat. He freaked, stopped and left the apartment; I called the police. I moved out after that and stayed with friends for a while. He actually contacted me over nextel walkie-talkie thing and threatened to kill me and himself. It wasn't long after that that I sold most of stuff and moved back east, putting 3,000 miles between us.

DAMMIT, and JM never took my advice. "You aren't an MD are you?"

I wish he would have! Of course Alyce would've just said that it didn't matter, Jodi said it was broken, and Jodi's word is gospel.

You're right - that is the way she told it to us. However, both Samuels and LaVi were told that the gun went off in the closet. That is huge as it shows (yet again) that her story is a lie.

She likely realized that there was no blood in the closet and corrected herself later, but had already told them the incorrect statement. Hard to keep SOOOOOO many lies straight! :)

Crap, I multi-quoted but for some reason it didn't add what I said. I noticed a big difference in their attention with the switch from Juan to Palin, the jury seemed to pretty much be hanging in during Juan and I use that term loosely because I don't think it was Juan, it was the lack of an answer from ALV. When Palin got up there, almost in unison, the jury put most of their heads in their hands. They didn't display emotion but they were noticeably not looking forward to the next questions and ALV explaining in detail.

It's annoying how criminals try to play the blame game with mom and dad causing their malfunction. If the physical abuse won't cut it, throw in some allegations of sex abuse ala Casey Anthony. You heard Alyce say that Jodi's dad said inappropriate sexual stuff to Jodi. Did that cause her to be a 3 hole wonder?

YES. The funny thing is, Alyce wasn't even listed as the author a month or so ago. Ola Burnett is listed as the author in the editorial review. Alyce must have pushed to get her name to on it get extra publicity because of the trial. Backfire!
Colleges have review systems where students can rate courses and professors they have taken. Those reviews on Amazon need to be taken into consideration when a student is thinking of spending the time and money on a course using this book as a textbook. The current book is a 2nd edition that came out in 2000. I don't know when the first one came out, but they really don't need a third edition.

So that darn book IS a textbook, then? LOL!! No wonder it's so darn expensive. And, when the poor students turn it back in at the end of the semester...used...it will be probably worth only $5 back. Always hated buying textbooks in college.
