Many Thanks! I just wondered if there was any significance to the change in her answer!

Yes. Every time she answers a question saying its "not her job" to look at this area or that area, it seems like she is really diminishing herself with the jury. She keeps saying that she was retained to look for domestic violence from TA. So as JM pointed out on several occasions, she's dismissed any other evidence that goes against that and has made every word he says out to be abuse!

Not imo. The jury already heard AL say, yes that's what he says in the text, so no matter how hard JM goes in circles on this one, I don't see the jury buying into any 'tricking' her into yes at this point. Not a popular view I'm sure but that's my common sense take on it all. I think their common sense will prevail and see that at least JM got Travis' words about it in, in a small way. They both still kept going back to each other so I fail to see much gain in spending hours on this after he got the words in.

It was telling to me when Alyce blurted out to Martinez that she's been through the 60's and 70's. I was too (add the last half of the fifties as well), and part of that was spent at Berkeley. I couldn't explain Alyce to you without taking up too much space and not before giving it more thought than I may be capable of. One thing for certain! Even though I can't analyze her, I recognize her. She is a bit of a relic--the old kind of professional activist, activist professional, that spends a lifetime viewing everything through the lens of their social biases and wears socks with sandals. The sixties and seventies were full of 'em.

What she really wants to shoot back at the Prosecutor is, "Mr. Martinez! When did you stop beating your wife.?"

She's not a Misandrist. She's an aging zealot. She's spent a lifetime investing in her unique set of prejudices and ain't nobody and nuthin' gonna challenge 'em. That's where her 'power' lies.

Uh oh JW, JM is about to point out another flaw in JA's story! I'm guessing we're about to hear an objection!

OMG. I was about to say I hope thats not poppycock's or faq's phone. But it was Alyce's. HA!

Most of us don't say much about those years now, not because we don't remember them but because the language which we spoke back then has been lost. When I try to talk about the sixties - when I even try to think about them - I am overcome by horror and hilarity. I see bellbottom pants and Earth Shoes. I smell pot and patchouli, incense and peppermints. And I hear Donovan Leitch singing his sweet and stupid song about the continent of Atlantis, lyrics that still seem profound to me in the watches of the night, when I can't sleep. The older I get, the harder it is to let go of that song's stupidity and hold onto its sweetness. I have to remind myself that we were smaller then, small enough to live our brightly hued lives under the mushrooms, all the time believing them to be trees, shelter from the sheltering sky. I know that doesn't make any real sense, but it's the best I can do: hail Atlantis.

I had some hope for her yesterday, but now I'm back to thinking she knows what's what but has sold her soul to bump up her retirement account. She deserves whatever consequences come her way.

Ohh, so Jodi told Alyce that she remembered pulling the trigger, and that they were both in the closet at the time. I remember Doc Fog saying the same thing.

I that. All he did was point out the fact that Jodi told another story to Alyce than she did in court. And left it at that. the jury knows how to take that.

Here we go with the real stuff. The knife, the gun, the murder. With all the social currrents that the defense has been propelling through this courtroom like water in a wave pool, we are down to the basics.

When we get down to it, this exercise is about determining the guilt or the innocence of this one person, in this one case, on the one set of evidence tabled by the end of the trial.
