I have quite a few author friends, who have books for sale on Amazon. I've written reviews for their books in addition to writing for books that I've bought through them. Alyce, herself, should be able to remove any of the comments that are not directly linked to critiquing the book. I would never leave a comment unless I had actually read the book. I am surprised that Amazon, itself, hasn't blocked out the comments, but they are probably not aware of it. I think it's unfair to use that forum to make jabs at her.

They use that @#$%&#$ book as a TEXTBOOK in schools! I believe people need to be signed into their Amazon account to leave a review, they are not anonymous. I think it's fair, free speech and all. Remember the edition they are reviewing is going out of print this month, and those reviews will go with it. But I think some professors need to revise their syllabus.

She thought attacking The Prosecutor would be the best way to distract from all the lying, manipulation, jealousy and stalking from the defendant that she chose to overlook being brought out in this cross examination.
It just makes her look worse, IMO.

She also loathes a man with control or power, I believe. And she does easily accept a situation where she is at the mercy of the control of a man.....so, Alyce is in her worst nightmare. And she doesn't like that, one bit! She keeps attempting to get to a place where she feels she has power, which is the "therapist" side of her. I'm sure that "Are you angry with me, Mr.__" is exactly what she often says to belligerent clients. I'm sure she has also asked some to leave the group for a time-out, or cool-off break. In her own pathetic way, she's trying to feel a sliver of control to get in a comfort zone of sorts. She gets much more of that sense when she is under direct exam. Whole different ballgame when the Prosecutor is at bat. :)

It may be a total crap book, but until I have read it, I can't pass judgement on it. I can only say that Ms. LV is a flaming butthole as far as her testimony on this particular case, but it still does not make me qualified to do a critique on a book I haven't read. And if the schools are using this as a textbook, then it is certainly something that parents should take up with their school boards. People throw around "freedom of speech" a lot.....I also like the saying "just because we CAN do something, doesn't mean we should."

It is totally fair, she is the author of the book, so a review of her would be relevant to the book. And to add to that, the book is about domestic violence, and in some people's opinions (and rightfully so IMO) this lady does not seem to know a lick about a DV. Wouldn't it benefit a potential buyer of a book to know that the author does not seem to actually know much about said book's subject matter?

I was one of the people who left a negative review entitled Shame On You!!! A few days ago, I actually deleted it. I felt guilty for it and felt my review gave nothing really, in way of an actual BOOK review. I was reviewing my opinion on the author herself. It was a great internal debate, lol. I felt a bit of joy after I wrote it and hit enter...sort of like "Haha! Take THAT, Alyce!" I just didn't FEEL good after a few days of knowing it was up there. I can't explain it. I guess I changed my mind.
