Jodi likes her to wear skirts.

But tonight when my husband came home, I went over our taxes with him and right afterwards said, "I heard part of that trial today, and this supposed battered-woman expert told the prosecutor that she would put him on a time-out if he was in her office. Can you believe she spoke to him that way?" My (tired) husband just looked at me a little confused before walking away to get ready for dinner. It was odd to share that particular tidbit with someone who has no interest in this case whatsoever... I've gotten a little too immersed, I guess. I'm glad I can at least read conversations about the case here.
That is too funny, I had literally the same experience with the same comment, telling him how combative this witness is, except after dinner!! His response: "huh?"

If I was anyone involved in this case, I'd be afraid of JA. Especially with the likes of Donovan in the courtroom. Who knows who might be following you home on the bus. If I was the judge or prosecutor, I'd be worried about her prison groupies bothering the jurors.

I was really hoping JM would show Laviolette a picture of Travis's hands. Those deep defense wounds...that was all I could picture when she had the nerve to say he wasn't a victim.

I didn't catch the whole cross. Before testifying, did Laviolette ever see the actual crime scene and autopsy photos?

The first thing I notice is the HUGE red, fruity drink in front of Alyce. I guess she had a rough day.

Jodi is in her prime now running her defense and JW. She is sooo relaxed. I hope the jury questions this in their minds. Do they notice she sits there and writes, writes and writes without a concern. That whispering is getting irritating, as well as the notes being passed between them. I noted at times JW writing in Jodi's book.

I'm sure some of the jury didn't ever think a defendant in a murder case would act the way Jodi does. To me, she's making a mockery of this whole thing and is so thrilled that she not only is the star of the show, but she's on worldwide television. This girl is going to crack when this is over and her only audience will be her prison mates.

So true! I studied engineering in college and it was way more about discipline and hard work than intelligence. You're also in a class with a lot of smart people and its very humbling to realize there will only be 1 or 2 A's handed out and it probably isn't going to be you who gets that A.

Her propensity to lie, manipulate and murder aside, Jodi didn't and doesn't have the skills, drive, or discipline to work hard and succeed at anything. In fact, the only thing she works hard at is infiltrating and ruining others' lives...oh, and perfecting her makeup.

That's why I hope she gets the death penalty. Her sentence will probably be commuted to life at some point, but being alone in her cell with no "audience" will be the worst possible punishment I can think of for her.

was it ever confirmed that jodi really did a doodle of snow white with a black eye during court? (i think it was on ebay) it would give a new meaning to "snow white was a battered woman"...

I wouldn't be surprised. I mean, I have never seen anyone SO completely uninterested in their own darn fate!
It's like going to court is just a formality that she has to endure until they get around to letting her go. I'm guessing she thinks that is the end result of all this, what with her being so awesome and how no jury will ever convict her, and all that.

    ...

Argh! This LaViolette broad is un-fucking-real!
Is getting that $300/hr she is getting REALLY worth tanking her freakin' career over? Was it worth setting back a cause - one she is supposed to be an advocate for - back in countless different ways? Does she not think her stance on men will have a negative effect on at least SOME of the MALE jurors (or woman jurors that know abused men)? Does she even care about any of this? At all!?

She is coming off - to me - as someone extremely evasive and combative. Her attitude has to be putting off some of the jurors, right? I think it would me, if I were in their seats. Some of them have to wonder why she is acting the way she is... I mean, if she were simply telling the truth and remaining unbiased why would she be acting this way? I know she has her opinions on the conclusion that she has come to, and she probably wants to defend and all that, but after the new stuff was introduced to her and some other things that the prosecution has brought up, hasn't she rethought it at ALL? I feel like she is not coming off like someone who is taking all of the information into account. She is purposely overlooking things... and when Jodi and Travis both do the same sorta thing, it seems like she justifies why Jodi is right in it and does everything to talk not admit that Travis could be right also. The jury has to see the double standards that are flying out of her mouth.

    I hope they do, anyhow.

Tune in tomorrow for "As the Stomach Churns"
I think she knows; she just doesn't care because her mindset is that the woman is always the victim and the man is always the perpetrator. Just the fact that she called Travis the perpetrator speaks a lot to where her mind is, I think.

I don't believe Travis abused Jodi in any way. I think he got angry and told her off, which we ALL have done, and that is NOT abuse. But, Alyce will look at Travis being "mean" as a reason to say it was okay that Jodi murdered him. I mean, honestly, how can anyone -- jury, prosecutor, public -- find any kind of credibility in a person who thinks it's okay to brutally slaughter another human being, because he called her some names?

Honestly? Looking at the comments from Jodi's fan club, I would fear for the prosecutor and Travis' family if any of those people are in Arizona. What a bunch of delusional nutjobs. And it's pretty obvious that they see nothing wrong with slaughtering a person who made them made or dumped them; I'd be very wary of what they could be capable of.

I really hope Martinez and the Alexander family have some kind of security in place when the verdict is read. I really do think that one of those Jodi crazies could go after them, especially if Jodi gets the DP.

Has anyone questioned why JW can put her phone directly in front of Jodi after JW has written, texted, or whatever. The thought just came to me, could it be recording?

Anyway, see the first few minutes of day 40.

Just after placing the phone, the subject is the torn out pages. Jodi told her Travis was reading the now torn out page, made her rip it out because of the negative things she wrote. Really? It would have eliminated what was on the back side of the page too. One was Oct 21, another in June. I think it was something she personally wrote, but it would have been incriminating to herself.

Is it normal for a defendant to sit in court rolling their eyes and telling their attorneys when to object? I think this is the first trial I've really paid attention to. I'm just surprised the whole DT team gets away with as much as they do. When Jodi isn't rolling her eyes, Jenny from the block is. I think here in Canada, the defendant sits alone, not beside their attorneys doing whatever they please.

I wonder what would have happened if this witness had to face a female from the State instead of a male. A strong, empowered female would throw her off her game completely.

This is just more of Jodi thinking she's too special to be talked negatively about. It's her whole personality flaw and it's what got her where she is today. Eye roll, objection...how DARE they say that about me!!!! As far as her closeness with JW goes, I think Jodi forgets that JW is doing this for the money and the boost in her career. Jodi's delusional enough to think JW actually cares about her. Newsflash, Jodi....when this is over, I highly doubt you are going to be penpals.

Most of the trial followers that put up reviews are not implying they read the book, only commenting on her integrity and lack of true domestic violence knowledge
The act of leaving a CUSTOMER REVIEW of the book implies that someone read the book. Amazon has discussion boards for each product/author for non-reviews. When I read a review of a book, I assume I will learn more about the content of that book instead of whether or not the author is a sellout or a lesbian.

Dunno, it gets pretty rabid around here, too. Lots of die bitch die (some of it from me, I admit). The fact that we're on a website all about dead people...probably wouldn't bode well for us.

I've thought the same about after the trial. I'd think JW would be Jodied out. I suspect she might pay one, possibly two quick visits because of guilt, then.....gone. Wilmott does not appear to reject anything Jodi does. Maybe she has come "under her spell" despite she knows she's guilty.
