Does he generally get called for prosecution or defense? I just ask only because I think that prosecution witnesses tend to be a little more thorough than defense witnesses, only because defense witnesses are called for a very specific thing. But I'll qualify this as being only my opinion because I know next to NOTHING about witnesses and court proceedings.

From what I understand, it's bad for an expert witness to be labeled as a "defense witness" or a "prosecution witness". The facts are the facts and can fit either side, depending on the case. You're just there to testify to the facts.

Don't get me wrong - I totally believe that she should have turned the job down. However, since she did accept the job, I think (minus my opinion about how wrong ALV is for the whole thing) she did what she was supposed to do. The defense team knew Martinez would take her down, and I think part of the blame lies with them for not preparing her for what would happen. I don't know.....she did what she was paid to do, whether she should have done it or not.

She should have been advised not to be so defensive and to allow them to object and/or address problems on redirect IMHO.
