I just ask only because I think that prosecution witnesses tend to be a little more thorough than defense witnesses, only because defense witnesses are called for a very specific thing. But I'll qualify this as being only my opinion because I know next to NOTHING about witnesses and court proceedings.

Her attitude on the stand is completely a different ballgame. I know assholes and I know evasive, defensive behavior. She reminds me of myself when I was younger, fighting with my dad over God knows what. Smart mouthed, rude, and hateful - and it gets you nowhere in the end.

I see the complete opposite. I see a person avoiding answering the questions he is asking. In your mind that is "standing up" for herself. I see that as just being an asshole that knows she screwed up.

I think she's trying to avoid being tripped up. If she stuck to the truth and believed in her diagnosis, she would not have to worry about being tripped up. If the prosecutor tried to make her look a certain way, the defense could address that on redirect. She needs to just answer the questions or she looks like a fucking weasel.

Sometimes having integrity means swallowing your pride and admitting you were wrong. What would be so hard about saying, "Yes, this is my opinion, and it is based on JA's accounts. If you believe the accounts, then this is what can be deduced from them" ?
