Thank you for this. I really needed a laugh.
This is definitely a new approach..Judge, we suck SOOOO bad at defending our client that she deserves a mistrial.

opps, sorry about that..it didn't transfer correctly.

Sometimes, people with extremely low self-esteem project a very confident or arrogant persona. As compensation for their low self-worth.
So it's kind of a paradox - Jodi shows irrational confidence in herself, I think it's more accurate to say she is delusional. It would be hard to judge her true self esteem through all the lies, for the defense or the prosecution. Either way, it doesn't mean shit in terms of finding her guilty of planning the murder. So I'm not sure why The Prosecutor is so obsessed with it.
What happened to 3 minutes?![]()
For me, the more I watch this trial....listen to the testimony and observe Jodi during all of it.....the less "human" she becomes to me. I haven't found that I have that kind of reaction, often. I mean, I felt compassion for Jeffrey Dahmer, because I saw him as a very disturbed individual and I saw remorse in him for being what he was. Jodi is empty, cold, devoid of anything that reminds me that she is of the human race.
Like a Salem Witch Trial huhhh?? "Burn the witch, the witch is dead...Burn the witch...AND BRING ME BACK HER HEAAAADD!" Sorry..sometimes I break out in song
Someone on the defense team ought to tell Jodi that its rude to stare down the victim's family.

Poppycock, this trial has so aggitated my germaphobia..I can't even look at a tootsie pop without gagging.
I hate the phrase "May we approach?"
wilmont "objection! my witness is an idiot and i am in so far over my head now i don't know what to do!!!"
To disprove the abuse excuse. LaVa has been saying that Jodi was basically Travis' puppet because she had no backbone and couldn't stand up for herself. That's why she was saying that Jodi has low self-esteem. A person who thought highly of themselves would stand up for themselves; she claims Jodi did not. Martinez is trying to show that in fact she did, and that she thought/thinks highly of herself and was not manipulated or cowed by Travis.
Honestly, if anyone had the low self-esteem, it was Travis, imo. I recall either Mimi or Lisa saying that Travis needed repeated compliments and whatnot. Growing up as he did with his addict parents, I'll be he did not have very good self-esteem at all. Thus, Jodi being able to manipulate him so easily and thoroughly.
I think, it could be argued that that is why Travis put up with Jodi, at least in part. If nothing else, at times, she stroked his ego very well. And, initially, he was probably flattered by her attention and focus on him, to the point where she was immersing herself in his life, converting to Mormonism for him, etc.

JA and TA weren't in a relationship as most people would have. They DATED for 5 months!!! The rest of the time she kept hanging around with claims TA was trying to win her back, thought she would be the lottery win in wives. She keeps talking about him flirting and cheating on her when in the meantime he's telling her to date other people and he started dating others. DV my ass. He was a man. He was fairly inexperienced and Hodi was willing to give him anything he wanted. What did nurmi call it? A full pass to her body or something? LOL. Basically I am droning on at my frustrations with Alyce Potter calling them partners who have bonded. All's they did was jump in the sack with some candy and.KY. gggrrrrrrr

Jodi thinks she's smarter than Einstein!! This just gets better and better!!!!
Late afternoon
Attorneys are in chambers
Alyce is back on the stand. JM is still up for the state.
Are you biased for Jodi? I don't believe I am.
Didn't you say you were sorry to Jodi the first time you seen her b/c of the items you read? Yes. I was saying I was sorry b/c I read her thoughts. Alice felt badly for invading Jodi's thoughts from reading her diary. She wanted Jodi to trust her.
Do you apologize to your clients? no. Jodi was the only person she read private thoughts.
(Alyce felt sorry for Jodi) Alyce also bought books for Jodi.
Why did you feel the need to establish a rapport with Jodi that way? I felt that was the way to go. (uh...to buy somebody stuff and say your sorry) Jail is boring and that's why she sent Jodi books, so she wouldn't be bored.
How many times have you testified at trial in a criminal case? Murder cases-2 times.
Of those, did you say you were sorry when you seen them? I didn't read their diaries. Alyce says she has also reduced her fees in some cases. (Alyce can't answer the question)
(Palin keeps objecting, but she has been overruled each time) Alyce stands by her decision to tell Jodi she was sorry when she met Jodi.
Ma'am, You understand you are here to answer my questions, right? Yes.
Alyce had a really good feeling about Jodi.
Is there bias on your part? No, I don't believe there is. Alyce says she is very objective in this case.
Low self esteem-
Wasn't Jodi happy b/c she thought her IQ was as high as Einstien? Yes.
Jodi liked to correct everybody's grammer? Yes
Manifesto of Jodi's in Yreka- Jodi was signing and autographing copies of the manifesto (cliffhanger)
Palin asks for an approach
Jodi was signing stuff in case she became famous. Alyce still says she has low self esteem. (Bull) Alyce took notes but the test says she has no self esteem problems. (Now Alyce is studdering)
EX 642- Alyce's notes. MCMI is what Alyce talks about. Jodi's social functioning was in the normal range. Also, her self image was in the normal range. (Palin yells out objection like a horny little school girl)
Approach
No matter what Alyce says, Jodi did not have low self esteem. (My words)
Nurmi asks for an approach (It's b/c the legal team is going down in flames)
Jury has to leave for 3 minutes.
EX 603- Alyce's report- manifesto- Alyce admits she talks about it. Jodi wanted Amy to print out 2 copies and sign in case (cliffhanger)
Palin asks for an approach
Yes, they were signed.
Jury is dismissed until 9:30am tomorrow
