I have a feeling that if Ms. LaViolette continues to be evasive and hostile when answering questions, Martinez will ramp up his style again. I don't mind either style (today's more low-key version or the high octane version), but I feel that he's being a little more.....accessible with the style he's chosen today. Either way, he manages to get witnesses to say and admit to things in a way that I find completely brilliant, even if he has to stumble through some other not so great questions to get there. At the end of the day, I feel like he has accomplished the things he wanted to do - even if he doesn't necessarily get the answers he'd like, he does have a very effective way of showing how a witness can over-embellish answers or just NOT answer things and it makes the WITNESS look hostile and combative, not him.

I really like Judge Stephens but I am beginning to agree with some of the criticisms levelled at her. The prosecution shouldn't have to appeal so any times for her to intervene when an expert refuses to ask questions or is self-serving in responses.

JM just brought up that she was working at Ruby Tuesdays in April 2008, and we know she was working at Casa Ramos in June. I suppose its possible she was working both at the same time....but
I only bring it up because of what I read about sociopathic traits. I believe one of them was unable to hold down a job for very long - something along those lines.
