No I think we all agree that Travis is not still alive except in the memories of thousands of people. And that none of us can bring him back from the grave, so there is no use in blaming him. Since this thread is about him, not the topic of stalkers in general, it seems this topic is dead here. The Justdatruth blog fits in as someone with a like experience, not to put what ifs on Travis' getting a restraining order or not. You can't speculate about the other guy not hearing from the nut job in years, maybe she met her demise, or is incarcerated or moved on to someone else or heaven forbid, she could re-surface.

Interesting that the author says he was addicted to the "attention" this woman gave him. He got over that, pretty quick once her behavior escalated ( spying on him, hacking into his personal accounts etc. and took serious action against her).

I am also starting to believe from listening to the JA and parents interrogation tapes that Jodi may have a split-personality. Interesting to me that both parents said that Jodi would call to talk and sound calm and happy. Minutes to a couple hours later, she would call back and be enraged. It really does seem like there are two Jodi's. Perhaps Captain Howdy is back.
That's not actually what he said in this blog. He said he was lucky, that he could have easily been Travis. He doesn't proclaim how he was smarter than Travis, nor does he suggest he "did the right things". He even acknowledges how calling the cops was useless, as was getting a restraining order. The ONLY difference between him and Travis is that his stalker didn't become homicidal towards him before he managed to get away.

For whatever reason, Jodi rose beyond the usual stalking, and decided to end Travis once and for all. I believe that Travis asked for help with her stalking, but I think people didn't take Jodi as a serious threat. I think that he felt that since no one else seemed alarmed when he talked about her behavior, he felt that maybe he was over-reacting, or that if he sought help from authorities, they wouldn't believe him.

You keep asking how or why Travis stayed with Jodi when she was stalking him. Apparently you missed this entire paragraph right here:

One of the striking things about the Jodi Arias supporters is that almost all the ones I've seen, have mentioned the fact that they too were domestic violence sufferers and survivors. Almost all of them postulated the argument that if Jodi was such a 'psychopathic stalker', why did Travis maintain a relationship with her? I can tell you from first hand experience, that it's very difficult extracting yourself from a psychopathic stalker. When things are going good with them, they are the nicest, most generous and loving people you could ever hope to meet. When things are bad and they are slashing your tires, and driving by your house at midnight, and all the other crazy shit, you do feel twinges of fear, but somehow, someway, they wheedle themselves back in with apologies and acknowledgements of how crazy they were, and there's always an underlying excuse why they went so far?their dog died or some other thing that could seem plausible...until they do it again.
You are not better than Travis because you survived. You are not smarter than Travis.

    You were freaking lucky.

One other thing. I believe that Jodi manipulated Travis into doing things by using this method (as described by the blogger):

When I got out of bed yelling at her to leave, she put her hands in front of herself in a defensive way and backed out and spoke in this low voice, as if I was the threat (I had never ever put my hands on her, I had rarely raised my voice in anger, I had never called her names, threatened her or given a hint of violence, then or any other time). The next day she called and left me a very calm voice mail that stated I needed help with my anger management issues and she feared for her life because I had never raised my voice in that way before.
Jodi probably used the threat of claiming he was violent and/or a sexually deviant, domineering man to keep Travis 'in line' with her desires.

Truly, the only thing Travis did wrong was to go off on her and fight back against her manipulation, which turned her stalking into uncontrollable rage. There seemed to be glimmers of her obsession ending in his death scattered in the writings of her journal. I believe that the long text and IM message on May 22nd was the point where she felt the absolute drive to destroy him.

Agree. Travis was getting to the point of disgust, just as the other man did, but Jodi beat him to it. I think Travis was just too trusting to all.

Who said the judge asked #5 back? What did I miss? Really? I have never heard of that happening with a juror before. Forgive me if I am understanding wrong and feel free to correct.

What you are describing is called irritability and/or being labile. It can be said that JA suffered from mood swings. These symptoms can be part of symptom complex such as depression, bi-polar disorder, anxiety disorders, or they are present due to insomnia and/or being premenstrual. I have seen dissociative identity disorder in at least 3 patients I have cared for. It is an extremely rare mental disorder and can not be compared to being labile or having a mood swing. DID's origin is often horrible child abuse and/or childhood sexual abuse. Although I am still not certain of JA's diagnosis, I am 100% certain she doesnt have DID. There are physical signs when the personality changes...weird facial tics typically or noises made that the individual is not aware of. None of that is present in JA.

As for her parents description of her calling and being either happy or angry, I guess she would be happy or angry most of the time. JA was under lots of stress; she had no money, she had no home and she killed her boyfriend. In times of stress like these being labile isn't surprising. Borderlines get angrywith and without provocation. Its their main reactive emotion.

Besides that she qualifies diagnostically for malingering, one could easily diagnose her (after killing Travis) with an adjustment disorder.

Metis whatever JA's malfuction was/is. It sounds like a bratty child being sweet when she wanted something and pitching a tantrum when she didn't get it. I gotta agree with you on no DID. All the things I have read on the subject these individuals suffered severe childhood trama. A good example is Trudi Chase. Although we can't guess the things that went on in the Arias home I wouldn't think getting a spanking with a wooden spoon would account for severe abuse. I got my ass torn up with whatever was in hands reach. Worst if them all, a piece of a hot wheels track. And yet I haven't killed anyone.

Jodi stalked Travis. Stalking is therefore a reality, a major detail of the Jodi Arias case ( Jodi Arias and Travis Alexander are the topic of this thread ). Her stalking behavior escalated to murder. Perhaps if Travis would have stopped engaging maybe his nut job would have met her demise, gotten incarcerated or moved onto someone else (i.e. the 2 men she was planning to go on that camping trip with). I truly believe Jodi was a serial killer in the making. We can't know for sure but we can't not know either. There is no chance to know because Travis didn't create a chance. This was a choice he made.

There was nothing usual about the author's stalker. Stalker's are never usual. They are unusual. The author is alive. Why is that? Just because he got lucky? Read the article again and see all the actions he took to thwart his stalker. Luck is not based on facts. It is based on fate. Travis had a chance based on the facts of a person he knew extremely well. He knew her behavior. Travis's murder was NOT the product of bad luck.

I never said I was better or smarter than Travis. Please don't twist my words.

Re: Travis and his knowledge of Jodi's crazy, obsessive stalking behavior is clear from the facts of the case. Text messages he wrote to her and friends. What ignorant person calls the person they are secretly dating a sociopath etc if they don't know what that means.

People who fight back against stalking manipulative, sociopathic people don't continually have sex with them.

I wonder what she's like when she gets back to jail? She keeps her "frailness" and "innocent look" intact the entire time she's in court. Lately she's studying the jury more than she ever has. Could this be her response to the defense witnesses not coming off well?

Thanks for this. Very informative. Do you think anti-social personality disorder fits her? She seems borderline to me as well. The "I Hate You Don't Leave Me" scenario. I read one article where the psychologist didn't think Jodi had BPD because she said BPD's often cut themselves. Jodi did not. However, I've known some borderlines and not all of them cut themselves. There are different levels to all Personality Disorders isn't there? Combo packages of sorts.

Stalking is not the court issue. The issue is the deliberate things she did (on her way to Utah), to cover up her plan to kill Travis deliberately.

Jodi's stalking behavior has been a major issue throughout the trial See witnesses questioned by Martinez. It is one of the many pieces of evidence of her highly unstable behavior which made her the prime suspect in Travis's murder even when she continually lied about it.

If they were "out to lunch" when she made that remark, is it possible that someone from Team!Jodi overheard her? I would not put it past them to stalk the jurors, or to be conveniently near them during lunch time to listen in.

    Good Points!

I think the absence of 'negativity' in her journals, is part of her psychopathy and narcissism. The journals to me, are written as though they were intended to be read. Didn't her Mum say that she developed trust issues since the pot growing stuff at the age of 14? And they are just too tame to be real! Not a single swear word! I think they are an extension of the pseudo Jodi she presented to the outside world.

Couldn't agree more. It chilled me to the bone, truly frightening. Thankfully he had the good sense to move before she could do the unthinkable. Still, I'm sure for all his days he will be "looking over his shoulder. How could he not? Eerie how she suddenly stopped pursuing her prey. Today, with the Internet, I'm sure she could find out, or already does know where he lives. I only wish Travis had seen the signs sooner. I think he was just coming to grips with just how sick she was, weeks before his murder.

As far as Juan's demeanor goes, I think we should cut him some slack. He spent all day listening to Alyce's crap and probably getting as worked up as we were. He did not start out with an elevated voice, but it didn't take Alyce long to make a snarky comment. I'm sure he was tired and disgusted and then she pulls that. That would have put me in an instant pissed-off mood, too. I believe we'll see a different approach Monday morning. Let's hope Alyce doesn't challenge him right off the bat like the snarky old man-hater she seemed to be on Thurs.
i think i understand what juan is doing, because of the limited time b4 the long weekend, i think he wanted to put a big seed of doubt in the jury's minds, and the quickest way is to bring up her dumb theory about snow white - which she talks about in most of the speeches i have seen, especially the part where snow white should become more like the evil queen- who she thinks abused by the king, even though the evil queen should be the actual abuser in that story
oh and in her dary enrty where she said it was bro's bday party - i think she was in arizona, cuz she said she went to police station to see flores and talking about starring at superstitious mountain

idk, i doubt they would unless some how jodi walks, but because of the $$ for drawings and the dr phil show, they might just to make sure she can't, i read an article that since the son of sam law is being so diminished, a lot of victims and their families are suing to make sure they can never make money in prison

i don't think that would be allowed because its prejudicial and would allow the jury to know about the publicity and the news coverage of the case

    Juror #5

    WHAT GOT HER BOOTED:
-Allegation are that she described Travis' murder as "heinous" within earshot of other jurors when being questioned by the judge after Nurmi's mistrial motion. This caused the defense to deem her choice of words and outburst as something that could perhaps taint the other jurors. However, they were already suspicious of her being against the defense because a note got back to Nurmi that Meliha had joked about something while she went to lunch with the other jurors.
-The joke went something like this "for $300 bucks an hour, you think they could get us chairs worth sitting in". So aside from her "heinous" comment, it appears that her misconduct was also related to this joke.
i remember the court observers said one day the heard her laffing loudly one time when the jury was walking out, or maybe the jury turned her is cuz they were sick of her?? i heard 90% of all the jury questions came from her, maybe they wanted to speed the trial up

I think they are an extension of the pseudo Jodi she presented to the outside world.
i wonder if some where she has hidden, or maybe burned them in the desert, she has real journals, w/ her real thoughts?

Oh and ladies, THIS is what a Hot prosecutor looks like...

To each his own, but I like Juan's style a lot better. He's intelligent, dynamic and passionate, and he breathes truth and life back into a courtroom that has been filled with endless tedium and fabricated testimony for days on end. And, Juan's hotter...

Do you read ANYTHING that anyone writes, or do you just block out the parts that don't suit your own theories?

He TOLD people about her. He was clearly looking for reassurance or reactions from people on how to deal with her. One of his friends that was interviewed clearly said, "I didn't think Jodi was a threat, so I didn't encourage him to seek help". Do you get this? Do you understand that Travis was looking to others for answers? Or is that just not goddamned good enough for you?

Read the article again yourself. The author says that he could have been Travis. He acknowledges that he was LUCKY. He acknowledges that the cops could do nothing for him. He acknowledges that a restraining order was useless. THE ONLY WAY HE GOT AWAY WAS TO PACK UP AND LEAVE.

Travis may have been getting to that point. What we know is that he told others about her behavior. What we know is that he tried to cut her out of his life. I suspect that he pressured Mimi to go on the trip to Cancun with him simply so that he could keep Jodi away from him.

I never said I was better or smarter than Travis. Please don't twist my words.
You have implied over and over that Travis didn't do the right things, and that you did, so therefore you're still alive. I call bullshit. I've seen stalkers in action, and I know what does and does not happen is basically based on how big a fucking nutjob your stalker is.

Re: Travis and his knowledge of Jodi's crazy, obsessive stalking behavior is clear from the facts of the case. Text messages he wrote to her and friends. What ignorant person calls the person they are secretly dating a sociopath etc if they don't know what that means.
I wouldn't consider Travis and Jodi 'dating' by any stretch of the imagination. Why do you insist that they were dating? Because they had phone sex? The evidence that Jodi provided could easily be twisted.

Example Conversation from last night between me and my bff:

Me: What do you want to do?
BFF: You know what I want to do.
Me: Yeah? Yeah, you want to tie me up, don't you?
BFF: Oh yeah. Tie you up and whack your ass until it's hot.
    Me: Ohhhhh yessssss.
BFF: Are you a dirty girl?
Me: You know it. I need to be punished.
BFF: Let me get the handcuffs and paddle.

Taken out of context, it sounds like we were about to engage in filthy sex. What actually happened was that we giggled like we were in fifth grade, then decided to get a pizza for dinner.

To say that you know shit about Jodi and Travis's relationship based on the evidence JODI presented doesn't say much. She's a liar and a manipulator, and I think you've been had.

People who fight back against stalking manipulative, sociopathic people don't continually have sex with them.
Don't they? Note the words sociopath and manipulative. If the abuser knows the vulnerabilities of their victim, it wouldn't be that hard to compel or convince that victim to do what they want.

And we don't know all that transpired on June 4th. Remember, this was only ten days (or so, I keep forgetting the exact date) from when he went on his tirade. Travis seems like a pretty easy-going guy. After he blew up, maybe, like many victims, he felt badly about going off on her like that. Maybe he'd blown off his steam, and was going to make up with Jodi.

Maybe Jodi came to his house and told him that she had his money, or knew someone he could borrow money from. Or maybe Jodi said that they needed to talk, and then she tells him her demands (be with me or else I'll tell everyone you raped me and are abusive. I have the tape to prove it).

    Maybe, maybe, maybe.

It really isn't fair of you to speak as if you know 100% what Travis did that day. You DON'T know. You just don't. Can you say for 100% certain that you know exactly how things went down on June 4th? Do you know the specifics of how Jodi gained entry to his house? Do you know with absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Travis was not manipulated or threatened by her before he was killed?

I think the answer to that is NO. You don't. You can't know, and you are making most of your assumptions about the sexual and romantic relationship between Jodi and Travis based solely on Jodi's words and evidence. That really isn't much to go on now, is it?

Today, with the Internet, I'm sure she could find out, or already does know where he lives. I only wish Travis had seen the signs sooner. I think he was just coming to grips with just how sick she was, weeks before his murder.
Travis did not really have the option of just "moving" to get away from Jodi, he was buying his home, he could not just change homes the way you can rent a different apartment. Also, she knew what ward he attended for church, she knew his friends and on and on, she had followed him on dates before so it would not be much of a stretch to believe that she would find a way to track him down. This is on top of breaking into his emails and bank accounts so she would have found him no matter where he had gone. I am really tired of the whole blame the victim crap, I don't care if he fucked her in all three holes every damn day of the week, she was allowing him to do so and letting him believe she was not only a willing but eager partner. What does any of what he "should have done" or should have seen" have to do with the fact that she butchered him??

Besides that she qualifies diagnostically for malingering, one could easily diagnose her (after killing Travis) with an adjustment disorder.
INSOMNIA. so many episodes in JA's life happen in the dead of night... 3am phone calls, leaving arriving places at 4am etc. This caught me attention early on... she's operating in a "graveyard-shift lifestyle" the opposite of the rest of the world... lots of secrets and things hidden.
