I guess Sandy had to do something for $ since the Enquirer didn't pay her for the bogus pedo letters. I watched the interview with Sandy and felt sorry for her.... For a minute. Then I went back to the letters and the DA ribbons.... I have a really hard time having any sort of sympathy for her

Here are some scenarios to get you started. You are:
1. An unruly expert witness and forget your testimony on the stand
2. Court reporter held late after trial to review transcription
3. Paralegal assigned to help Juan with the case
4. Judge losing patience with his rough questioning
5. Fan on the courthouse steps competing with Katie Wick for his attention.
plea bargin foreplay, anyone?
Ok! Lots of folks have said! And I believe but! Can anyone actually give me the law on why LaViolette should NOT have spoken to Samantha? I am aware of why not ethically? But a few folk have said it would be against the law?

I really don't think she did talk to Matt McCartney. Martinez asked her if it was true that the simply read summaries from interviews that other people conducting; she said yes. So, as far as MM goes, I bet it's either what Jodi said that MM said (just like LaVa taking Jodi's word for what Travis allegedly said and did), or LaVa read someone else's interview summary with MM.
I noticed that even his garage was in pretty great condition. Most people, imo, don't put a whole lot of effort into having a pristine garage, unless they are someone who is very into working on cars and such, and even then... Well, his garage looks tidier than some people's living quarters; like Jodi's little hovel.
Well, if I recall, the .25 was kept in a dresser drawer, not in the gun cabinet. That can possibly explain 2 things.
1. Why Jodi opted to take that particular gun, as opposed to something bigger and more lethal. It was unsecured. I don't know if grandpa's gun cabinet had a combo lock/lock&key or whatever, but it might have.
Really, too, with the gun being in the dresser drawer, a person could argue that it was taken because it was happened upon while in the process of taking things of value, as opposed to someone breaking in with the partial intention of taking a gun. Given the options available, it's rare that someone will intentionally take the smallest caliber, and one likely unable to best do what a person would want a gun for, kill someone (quickly).
2. If the gun was in the dresser drawer as opposed to the gun cabinet, it was likely because it was for personal protection, and while small, it would perhaps be something that grandpa could grab quickly from his room, in hopes of warding off an intruder. He wouldn't have to risk going to the other room to get a gun in the case of a home invasion. Any gun; even one that size; may have been capable of warding off an intruder, particularly one who is not all that experienced with guns.
The .25 being separate from the other guns makes sense from an ammo point as well. Let's say that Jodi just grabbed the gun and whatever bullets were in it. They were not loaded with hollow points yet because grandpa hadn't gotten the chance to take the ammo out and change it. Perhaps he had decided with a small gun like that, hollow points were needed to make it more effective in taking down an intruder.
Admittedly, I a far from a gun expert. But it would make sense to me that if a person wanted to keep a small caliber firearm for protection, they might reason that using a more "lethal" bullet would make it a more effective weapon in dealing with would-be intruders. So yeah, I believe gramps could've bought the hollow points intending to load them into the gun, but hadn't gotten around to them before Jodi swiped it. If this is a gun with 6 or 7 rounds, that would have been plenty to kill someone without having to take bullets out of the box.
I don't believe she has ever said he was a victim of anything though; which obviously he was. The frustrating part is Travis was the victim of domestic violence. He was the one who was stalked; had his tires slashed; had his email hacked. Those are all classic examples of stalking; yet LaVa mentions none of that. It's disingenuous.
I know she is a defense witness, but even then, as a therapist and so-called abuse expert, she should be examining all facets of the relationship; including proven incidents, as well as phoney baloney things that Jodi has said that have absolutely no proof whatsoever.
Had she said that they were emotionally abusive towards each other; that they both had abusive pasts (even though I don't believe Jodi did); that they were toxic for each other; her tripe would've been easier to swallow and not engendered the level of repulsion and hostility.
I don't think anyone believes Travis was a perfect angel. And yeah he said some mean things to her; but taken in context and realizing those words/insults were provoked by things Jodi said and things Jodi did, and did not just get pulled from the ether; Travis was the victim in both ways and the perpetrator in none, imo.
LaVa, for a therapist, doesn't even give the slightest notion that she is impartial. Woman = victim, man = abuser; even when woman drives hundreds of miles to butcher a man in his own home.
She repulses me. And if this is the kind of attitude she has, then she's done a LOT of damage to people in her 30 years of so-called therapy.
I can't even taken any of the media seriously, because some of them are still saying that she has pink/blue hair, when it is obviously blonde and red. If they can't get the hair color right -- something that is obviously to anyone sighted -- then anything else they say can be taken with a grain of salt.

I think she was channeling onne of the sister wives from the HBO series "Big Love!" Hopefully it will be her shower day before Monday. That greasy hair is begging for some suds! Maybe a little squirt of Dawn...
I disagree with ALL of this. Martinez is exactly where he should be doing what he was born to do. If Travis were my brother, I would not want anyone but him speaking for him! There is nothing wrong with you having your opinion about his work, however his record speaks for itself and he has earned the job he has and he is paid to use his awesome experience and choose how to present the evidence. In the end you can opine all day about how you think it should be done but unless you are willing to earn your way into his position, complaining here is just about ALL you can do. Believe me I have many complaints about the DT and all the time they wasted this week but unless I get a law degree, I can only vent here!
