I was just coming here to post about her conference being cancelled. I had my bf listen to cross and he didn't see why I thought she was being so douchey.

I have in the past defended some of these witnesses because I feel like they are just telling us what they know, but this woman has it out for men so bad. She completely changed when JM was up to question her even when he wasn't yelling.

Juan wasn't raising his voice until she was well into challenging him playing her plotted games. And he returned to his normal voice. He goes into 'control' mode as he should when she tries to take control. She will lose every time because her own foundations for her so called opinion is weak and flawed.

I'm hoping the good citizens and Travis' family file a formal complaint with the licensing board and the courts. Courts have to approve her as an expert and this one broke an AZ law. Might be a law in CA too, I haven't checked. She quite a ditz anyway. There was one day she got off the stand TWICE and was walking around the bench area going over to JW like she was at a damn seminar offering coffee. Goes back to the stand, then repeats a second trip! I thought who the Hell does she think she is. You just don't see shit like that and the damn judge never said a word!

What's up with this lady? Just another weird action by another weird player in Jodi's World. What disturbs me about this whole thing is her comment. I mean, let's assume she had some kind of sympathy for the family. She knew she had one shot to say something and she comes up with "nothing personal"? Why not...I am so sorry for the agony your family is going through or I hate that my actions are putting more pain on you.

Points made by the prosecution:

1. After spending an hour building up AL’s (Alyce LaViolette’s) credentials JM (Juan Martinez) tore them down in minutes. Under cross she became an out-dated (no formal education in more than 3 decades), out of touch (she now lectures about Snow White being battered), under-qualified (because she has no PhD she cannot administer or score tests and is not qualified to diagnose anyone) joke.

2. AL based her opinions on a 44 hour interview with JA (Jodi Arias) and her Journals. She never spoke to anyone else (just read some other things and watched the 48hrs interview). JM pointed out that despite being paid $250 and hour to read JA’s journals she could not come up with a direct answer without wanting to refer to said journals. He simply asked her if there was anything negative in the Journals about JA and she requested that he show her the journals. She had no problem with questions about the journals with the defense because she was reading directly from them as spoon fed by the defense attorney. In fact the judge actually busted her for reading from the journals directly. Not to mention these journals are just like “Snow White”: fairy tales and this is basically what this expert regurgitated on the stand for 6 days.

3. JM got AL to admit the ‘continuum’ she based her ‘expert’ opinions on was made up BY HER! She even admitted to him that she could alter it at will. When asked if there was any diagnosis for “battered Women’s Syndrome” in the DSM (the ‘Bible” of psychological disease according to the last defense witness) she admitted there is no such thing. (Oh, and if there was she is not a Doctor and not qualified to diagnose anyone).

5. Remember when AL went into great detail to point out that because Travis had come from an abusive family that he would grow up to be an abuser? (And according to her everyone else in that circumstance would unless they received some kind of therapy). Well here is how JM used the Fairy Tale “Snow White” to prove the exact same point about JA:

-Snow White was abused by her Step-Mom and her Dad did nothing to protect her. JA was abused by both her Mom and Dad and neither protected her.

-Snow White fled into the woods to get away from the abuse. JA fled to Bobby’s house to get away from her parent’s abuse and control.

-Snow White ended up in a shack taking care of people. JA moved into one room of a hoarder’s house and she was the only one working and bring the food in.

-Something bad happened to Snow White (the apple). Something bad happened to JA (Bobby choked her).

-Snow White becomes unconscious and waits for her Prince. JA starts looking for her Prince. Unfortunately I think her Prince was Travis.

-Doesn’t this then mean JA would grow up to be the abuser according to this expert?

**Mr. Martinez accomplished all this in about 30 minutes.

This is Murder 1, not a car accident, and he's handling a DEFENSE witness that wants to let the killer get a free ride. High stakes. He isn't playing for fun with some snotty bitch. It's his shot to knock out her testimony, not a Ms Manners class.

That might have been an effort to minimize some of the attacks on Samuels, and I think it worked a bit. It showed The Prosecutor likes to blow his wad over stuff that doesn't matter. And it did royally piss off Martinez. If I was Wilmott, I probably would have had similar goals. I just never thought Wilmott had the nads to start clownin' Martinez!

Okay! The worst definition of ?irony?, is Alanis Morissette's! Lets not kid ourselves!

But running a very close 2nd, is LaViolette?s backbiting exposition, in this short cross that we witnessed with Juan Martinez on Thursday.

She feigned ignorance when pulling herself back from her declaration, that she did not see Travis as a victim in this case. She realized that she was in a situation in which there is a massive incongruity between the literal and the implied meaning! How could she not??

29 stab wounds! A gunshot wound to the face! And a knife drawn so severely across this man?s throat, as to sever his carotid artery and wind pipe! Not to mention, the severity of the defensive wounds to his hands!!

From beyond the grave, this is to date, the ONLY TESTIMONY OF TRAVIS ALEXANDER, as to what happened to him that day! These defensive wounds, corroborate wholly, who was in possession of the power that day! As his testimony entered the court through autopsy pictures, it is indisputable, as factual, that he was absolutely without power, on June 4th 2008!

Horror of horrors! Probably more horror than she has ever had to witness or hear of, in a typical Domestically Violent situation that she may have encountered in her work! Especially, if you are to absorb her observations of what she deems as ?Domestic Violence? in this case!!

For what, pray tell, could be more Domestically Violent, than being brutally murdered in your own home, in your bedroom, in your own shower, by someone you had just had intimate relations with??? What situation did she find in Arias' fabricated experience, or in her testimony regarding numerous, unrelated cases, involving married women and children, and those in common-law partnerships etc, that could have transcended the catastrophic fate of Travis Alexander?

I think someone should have said to LaViolette, as the Judge said Arias, when she attempted to represent herself as counsel, "You Ma'am, are in over your head!"

Should Ms LaViolette be held accountable for her actions? By both the prosecutor and her peers? Most definitely! Not just for being an advocate for the 'wrong side', but for defiling a true victim of Domestic Violence, and all those in the future who find themselves in terrible legal situations, because of the abuse they have suffered at the hands of another!

Alyce's greatest irony, is that while sits in a courtroom, in support of a liar, she is drastically and obviously hurting the authentic victims of Domestic Violence whom she claims to care for, help, and be a spokesperson for!

Nah, Martinez asks do you have a problem with your memory in just about every trial. The defense knows this and tried to head JM at the pass. If you were the defense attorney you would make it your business to know how JM does things. Showing resistance by asking the prosecutor if he is angry is a tactic IMHO. Though I have to say, Alyce asking if JM wanted the truth was a serious zinger.
