On another note, I personally don't mind Juan's bulldog style. I think during jury selection, both sides attempt to obtain jurors who are swayed by emotion.

The defense has no facts to support their case, so they have no choice but to throw out theories that appeal to people's emotions. Although the prosecution has a solid case based on facts alone, they must appeal to the jurors' emotions as well in order to negate the obvious manipulation of jurors' emotions by the defense.

This isn't Sunday afternoon tea at the Ritz. This is a brutal murder and the prosecution is reminding jurors they should be mad over such a heinous crime by Jodi!

I have to agree with you, Brillig. I, too, have seen some members who post here, and then go on other threads and trash this one. I came here BECAUSE of this thread, and I joined because of it. It's too bad, because I doubt I'll have much reason to be here, once this trial is over, either. There is a fabulous group of people on here, and a handful of assholes, for lack of a better word. This is a paying site, yet we are "closed down" and have "privileges" taken away until we can learn to be adults?? WTF?! How about weeding out the regular troublemakers, and warning them. Then, if they don't change and cool it, ban them out of the thread. Some people will simply NEVER play nicely, because they love the rush of causing shit. Just saying....

RE juror 5, if she is a truck driver you would think she would be getting back on the road after not getting paid for 3 months. I doubt her employer had to pay her while on jury duty if she is a private contractor, but I don't know how that works. I don't see what purpose it serves for her to be in the courtroom. If I were her, I would have tried to be incognito.

It was not a hollow point casing found in the bathroom. That's a serious bullet. It would have been listed if it was a hollow point used, and most likely, Travis would not have had much of a face left if a hollow point was used.

OMG I just read Stabby's diary entry for May 22, 2008. What a load of crap. In reading that, I'm convinced that on that day, she was beginning her "defense" and planning the murder.

I suspect May 10 is when everything went to complete shit between Travis and Jodi. Jodi did something on May 10. I *believe* Jodi started some kind of blackmail campaign against Travis along with reading all his private information on emails and facebook. I agree with you about May 22. I bet she was going to be the jury foreman. I suspect she had a face that was easy to read in court (maybe she doesn't hide her emotions very well), and the defense had to find a way to get rid of her. Jodi's family and friends probably started some kind of BS campaign of anonymous messages to the judge.

I wish Juror#5 would stay home, but maybe she was pissed. Maybe it was a way to say F you to Nurmi and Jodi.

None of us know why #5 showed up, but part would be to sort of haunt the defense team, let them see her. I do, however hope she does not return as she cannot even blink wrong without anyone noticing. I think she missed the atmosphere of the courtroom because she had no wind down time, she was jerked right out of it and the friendship developed in the tight knit jury group.
I wonder if she's been watching things on t.v. and seeing things that have been withheld from the jury. Her post trial interview should be interesting as she compares what she heard and things she found out on public television.

Despite the brashness way JM does his questioning, he demands straight answers and eventually gets them without all the witness's side comments. She kept trying to avoid his questioning of an interview being an important part of helping someone. My God, how else does she find out what she needs to counsel on if she doesn't interview and find out the problem? This case I'm sure is unique. How many other people have thousands of texts to go through? How many troubled clients keep a journal?

As for JM, he's already gotten out info that Jodi left home on her own to get away from what she perceived as abuse and control. He got that out of ALV after the comparison of Snow White being thrown out of the house and ALV said Jodi left on her own. (hope the jury picked this up). She also had to admit Jodi had the job so she was the provider.
ALV will have to explain why Matt told her of Bobbie's abuse if she didn't talk to anyone but Jodi. Kind of shows she did.

No, I haven't seen anything 100% confirming whether or not the casing found was a hollowpoint. All the documentation just mentions 25 caliber. During the 7-15-2008 interrogation of Jodi, Flores did say... "We know you have a 25 auto; you guys reported it stolen. We've recovered the ammunition and it matches. We've recovered the shell casing and it matches the ammunition."

He's not required to tell her the truth during interrogation, so I still can't say for sure about the hollowpoint question. If anyone else knows, please pipe in.

If the empty casing found had been a hollowpoint, the autopsy pics of Travis' head would have been missing at least 2/3 of his head.

Me three. I am fairly new, and admit I have spent almost all my time on MDS on the Jodi Arias thread. Since the rep feature disappeared with no explanation today, I decided to wander the site and try and find the explanation. Well, I found the official explanation, but I also found lots of extremely negative, insulting and derisive comments about this whole thread, and the people who post on it. I was shocked at the vitriolic criticism expressed.

I am puzzled why anyone would hate any thread in particular? Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, but I am puzzled by the hatred for an entire thread. If people aren't interested in this particular thread, why not just skip reading it?

I am also puzzled and insulted by the scathing comments about the participants on this thread in general. Why make a thread about a high profile trial then detest the people who come to your site to post on it? Don't you want more people to participate on MDS?

I had not gone to premium yet, but I was about to when the thread was closed for several days, which was off putting for me. Then the new thread started, and things were mostly going well, now this new slap. As a newer participant, these things do not make me feel like MDS is a place where I am welcome. If that is the intention, great, mission accomplished. If that is not the intention (to make new people feel unwelcome), then perhaps a different approach might be better.
