RE juror 5, if she is a truck driver you would think she would be getting back on the road after not getting paid for 3 months. I doubt her employer had to pay her while on jury duty if she is a private contractor, but I don't know how that works. I don't see what purpose it serves for her to be in the courtroom. If I were her, I would have tried to be incognito.

Yep. Been there, done that. Have sent some texts myself, and due to space, I've re-thought what I sent, after I sent it, and then sent a follow-up to clarify, just so it wouldn't be misunderstood. There is plenty of room for misinterpretation when it comes to texts.
Really. Obviously this was a heinous crime and Jodi is a cold-blooded murderer. But, it could only have been worse if she'd killed him in the woods. If nothing else, at least the fact that it happened in his home means that she left tons of evidence behind. I have to believe we wouldn't have the murder pictures if she had managed to lure him to the woods.
And knowing Jodi, she would've been quick to fabricate herself an alibi, with friends or family on her turf, and then claim that either she didn't know Travis was coming, or that she was expecting him and he never showed up.
A crime scene in the woods would've been much more beneficial for Jodi, and she probably would've gotten away with killing poor Travis.

At first I was a little taken aback by Juan's style, but I've come to appreciate it. After hours and hours of Nurmi speaking softly and coddling a heartless murderer as if she's a delicate flower, and then after hours and hours of Wilmott coddling two shrinks-for-hire who did backbends to make the murderer a victim, it's a visceral relief to have Juan's passion come in and finally get everything back to reality and the utter seriousness of this crime. If he also talked sweetly to these awful people, I would wonder about our judicial system.

I have concerns about it myself. I have to think that some of the jurors are not turned off by it. I can totally understand why she has the attitude that she has. I may not care for her man hating ways but if I was on the stand with someone trying to put me on the spot like that I would go snarky bitch on that person.

It's constantly reported that the voice isn't as loud as HD TV appears when you are sitting in the court room and that is the only room the jurors are in. I don't have to like his voice to see the man has a long succesful career including one woman on death row. He must not be making as many mistakes as some wish to see. Not saying he is perfect, no one is, but this HLN mentality of 'he is shouting' has grown old. The only juror critque I can find in previous cases is one. And it wasn't about his demeanor or his voice level! It was he tossed out a new theory in closing and that juror said it wasnt believable to her.

I disagree that a prosecutor should present his argument without emotion.. as in never showing any kind of feelings of anger. He should be angry that this other side is trying to take the victim and make that person the perp. He should be offended and angry at that.
Did anyone notice that when JW was asking Alyce if her analysis was based solely on her interviews with Jodi, Alyce said no and started listing off all of the evidence that she evaluated. She mentioned the texts, the IMs, the emails, the journals, and Travis' communications with other women, however she never mentioned the sex tape.
Did she not evaluate the sex tape?? Wouldn't that have told her more than the written word?
Also she said that Jodi maintained strong friendships with Matt and Darryl, Jodi's ex boyfriends. How would she know that if she didnt interview the exes? Once again, her entire opinions are largely based solely on what Jodi told her. Worthless testimony!
Again, I give my opinion of The Prosecutor as someone who could be a juror, just like all of us.
Martinez and I do have something in common - neither of us are sending Jodi to death row.
If I were a juror, I would want The Prosecutor to help me understand the inconsistencies in the testimony. Instead he gives me a headache and a stress reaction. It's not effective communication for me. His argument may be correct, the witness may be a fraud, but he's not making his case effectively. I don't think this witness is even that important. She glossed right over the only day of Jodi's life that really matters... I thought she was going to talk about Travis attacking Jodi, or how women who have been abused can go mental and snap, but none of that happened.
Granted, he is much more interesting than Nurmi. In fact, I don't watch Nurmi; however, JM is interesting in a bit of a train-wreck aspect. He would piss me off if I was a juror. He's belligerent. Not getting the circle-jerking to him. Well, given the biddies in this thread, I guess I do.
