Did you read the robbery report? A side door was forcibly entered. Stolen items were: a 25 caliber gun, a dvd player, a cd player with speakers, and $30 from Jodi's dresser. I don't think it's likely that all this happened earlier and they didn't notice. The report says the robbery occurred when the grandparents were away for just a few hours. Jodi was at their house when they left (10am) & was not there when they arrived home (3:30pm).

If I was up on the stand I would probably react the same way. Martinez is trying to characterize her words a certain way, and she has the right to correct him and explain what her true meaning was.

I think that's why he is so aggressive - he wants the witness to give up and just agree with his perspective on what they have said. Juan tries to repackage her testimony into small phrases and then try to sabotage her with them. I can see myself reacting to that in a pretty similar way. If he was sweet and sensible he'd get a much better result. The best way to argue with someone is when they don't even know you're mad. Then they react to what you're saying and not your/their emotions.

I just need to say how much it helps to watch this trial with you guys, and to have this place to vent and discuss and share our silly humor, because without all of you and this place, I think my head would literally have exploded by now from trying to keep up with this insane sideshow of a trial alone.

After watching this trial for a lifetime, I feel bad for JM when it's his turn to cross because he gets put to sleep during direct and it takes him about 30 min or so to get a point across, but after his initial point is made he's off to the races. GO JM!!!!

I agree. If she would just answer the questions without showing that she is trying to "protect" the defendant, the jurors might give more weight to her testimony.
If I were a juror and thought a witness was obviously answering to benefit one side, I would have a hard time believing any of their testimony.

I actually think Lava made some solid points on her wrap up. She did a reasonable job with what she had to work with. The defense had a pretty good day bringing up the patterns and Travis's player/horndog lifestyle. They spent too much time to get there but at least they completed their character assassination of Travis. From his emails and lifestyle he does look like a guy who uses women for sex, without really having a loving relationship in his past.

It shouldn't be hard to punch holes in Alyce's testimony. You don't have to yell and scream and go out of control to do it. Why let the witness jerk you around into talking about what she can remember and if your anger affects the answers? Not productive, just self-indulgent. Martinez is a massive queef. Sorry Katie. The defense has worked real hard to get the focus on Travis like you are doing but it doesn't have anything to do with how JA slaughtered him.
Martinez though knew this fake would take a shot at him, he's just showing her it isn't her scripted show anymore. And, Martinez is Martinez, why change for this bitch. She's been preying on vulnerable violence victims while talking out her ass. He had her showing her bitchy side in seconds.
