Jury isn't supposed to discuss the case amongst themselves or anyone else until after closing arguments and Judge issues jury instructions after which they are sent to deliberate.

Maybe he will bring it up in rebuttal? It literally made me sick to my stomach reading it. You can picture her thinking of Travis as she was writing it. Waaay before she actually really did kill him. She is a crazy woman. I am terrified of her more and more each day.

I'm guessing the new journal entries won't be used in court, or they wouldn't have released them. It's like the interrogation, the clips aren't released until after the court shows what they want to show.

I'd bet not discussing the case until deliberations is part of the "Admonitions" the judge reminds them of all the time.

In my case, I witnessed an attempted murder. The victim was shot five times (six shots fired, but one missed and almost hit me... I actually felt a little puff of air as the bullet went by my head). Despite five serious wounds, the victim was rushed to the hospital, had extensive surgery, and survived. The shooter was tried for attempted murder, and forced me to testify to a totally different version of the facts. They were acquitted. I was six years old at the time of the shooting.

The incident was never, ever discussed after that. On the rare occasions when I did think about it, I "remembered" the version I had been forced to testify to. When I was in college, I started having a recurring nightmare/vision that I could not comprehend. I eventually found it so disturbing that I saw a psychiatrist, and it turned out to be the memory of the real details of the shooting that I had been suppressing all those years. Years later, the shooter confirmed that my recovered memory was indeed what had really happened.

Thanks, Alison, for your kind words. I suppose I'm glad I found out, although the truth was far more disturbing than the lie. I had an extremely abusive childhood, and was raised by a sociopath, so I had and still have issues, but I work on them every single day. Whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger, and I did survive the whole mess and have actually done quite well, especially considering my childhood.

It shows.

I know exactly how that works. The surprising thing is how well it worked for me. I secretly give credit to divine intervention. The relief came with a gift. Unbounded reverence for the value of human life and its inherent dignity--and the ability and opportunity to share it.

Thank you Ian, and thank you dizzyp, for your kindness and sincere good wishes about my surviving my childhood trauma. Statistically, I should probably have ended up shooting strangers from a freeway overpass or something similar, so I actually feel pretty pleased with myself that I turned out relatively normal and functional.

Having watched the clips of Arias' parents, I am confused about what to think of them. Like some here, I have been perplexed by their stance in court. They have been openly there to support her - to do their duty. They both seemed nice enough in the interviews. Solid, reliable kind if people that even reported Arias for drug possession. Yet something nags at me about the distance between Arias and her family. More tapes may change perspective, so I'll wait to learn more. As many ave observed on MDS, a truthful confession from Arias (with serious psychological evaluation) would have served her better. Arias' sickness is so deep that she refused to see that. Her smug stupidity is frustrating to observe. I find it impossible to have any empathy or sympathy for her, although I started watching the trial with an open mind.
