I knew HLN was pure fuckery but this just too much.

Please, please someone deliver these full video's of Stabby parents to the internet so I don't have to sit here like junkie waiting for my next dose!

I admit it, I'm not proud of it but DAMN IT I NEED TO SEE THOSE DAMNED TAPES!

No matter what, when all is said and done, that family will never be the same. Whether Carl or the sister were lying to minimize the demonization of Stabby...it won't matter. The collateral damage of Stabby's actions remain forever. I'd almost wish a death sentence on Stabby if I were in her family. Then I could bury all the evil and ugliness surrounding her actions right along with her and hope to be able to live somewhat of a shell of a life. With her alive, there's a constant reminder and constant hurts. Stabby will no doubt write letters of blame to her parents or not answer letters from her parents; perhaps, turn them away from a prison visit just to torture them. Her manipulation and passive/aggressive shit knows no bounds.

Travis's family will see justice. Little consolation. Stabby's family will forever have pain; self-doubt; shame...the whole shebang of negative emotions. I don't know what to make of her chuckling in court other than she has no other coping mechanism in this nightmare known as Jodi. If Stabby would show ONE FUCKING OUNCE of remorse, she could ease everyone's pain just a little bit. But fuck everyone else....Jodi's out for Jodi as it appears she always has been. I say bring on the needle and pray that God have mercy on what little soul she has.

I would lie my fucking ass for my daughter if it meant SAVING HER LIFE. I wouldn't give 2 flying fucks to what her crime was, I would be blinded by my need to save her life.

I'd take that stand and lie my ass off, perjure myself into oblivion.

I've never even spanked my daughter, and she's only a few years younger than Jodi.

But you know, I'll admit it, I'd get on that stand under oath and swear up and down I beat her ass every damned day of her existence, 3 times a day and 4 on Sunday just for good measure.

I'd swear I neglected her, I'd swear I brought home literal fleets of sailors to entertain every weekend. Hell, I'd swear I was so drunk most of the time during her formative years that I'd occasionally forget what I'd named her and just called her "Hey you!!!"

I'd swear I was the shittiest shitty mother that ever walked the earth.

TO SAVE HER LIFE, yes, I would do all of the above. No matter what she did, THAT'S MY BABY GIRL. Something in her is broken and while maybe I can't "fix" her, I can at least try to spare her life for her, even if it means sacrificing my own. My love for is blinding, unconditional and knows no bounds. If that didn't work, I'd even try to take that goddamned death penalty FOR her.

If Jodi's very life weren't literally at stake in this trial, I'd overlook some of the mom's odd behavior. But...that's HER flesh and blood up there, and no matter what monster Jodi may have occasionally been for her, there had to have been good times and good memories, too.

The thought of sitting there finding ANYTHING remotely amusing to chortle about in court while someone is up there literally trying to take her life? Nope, nothing remotely humorous or comedic about that shit.

I think the entire clan is full-blown batshit.
^^ THIS ^^ "Every single bit of it !!
My girls are "my" life, & there would be no way of not sticking by their side "No Matter What"
AND I would NEVER be finding anything humorous or even remotely amusing enough to even cause
a partial smirk whilst my daughter was on trial for her life.

Morbidly, I totally can see your point. I have 3 kids that between the 3 of them there have only been 2 whuppins' given. Both spankings were a result of the child doing something that could have gotten them killed. I know in my heart that if one of my children were facing the DP it would be hard to find anything to smile or laugh about. I would want them to pay for the crime they committed and I would be very apologetic to the victims family. I just ain't seeing sympathy or empathy from the Arias family.

I hope Alyce SERIOUSLY regrets her decision to sell herself out for this trial. I hope the negative ramifications of that decision come at her in many different ways.

And if she doesn't, then she truly is as deluded as she currently appears to be when on the stand.

that was meant as an honest, legitimate question... not playing any games. As they say in court: it calls for a yes or no answer. A lie to "save your child's life" might very well help them get away with murder as well. So one would have to weigh all the ramifications before lying under oath. Hypothetically speaking.

I can't in all honesty decide whether she's sold out or (my personal opinion) she's been seeing pretty much ALL men as abusive since the 70s and thus interprets pretty much ANYTHING a guy does as abusive, manipulative, controlling, ad nauseum.

I'm betting she could raise the ABUSE flag on any series of text messages or emails any normal couple where no abuse is involved simply by reading into them what she would want to see.

I think she actually believes all that fuck and awe she's peddling up there on the stand...and I wouldn't be a bit surprised to learn she's very biased and partial towards Jodi because Jodi is...FEMALE.

I'd love to hear what some of her alleged male abuse victims think of her counseling of their abusive female partners and how effective she is at her specialty. I'll bet that would be an eye-opener. Probably tells the dudes they PROVOKED the abuse, lol!

My apologies...there's so much snark on this board at times that I'm a bit hyperviligant about it.

    Again, I'll be honest here.

Not pleasant by any means but raw and honest.

    Ever see The Bad Seed?

I'd rather have an ending like that, I think, than subject my daughter to this dog-and-pony circus. I'd rather remove us both silently from the equation than have her made a worldwide spectacle courtesy of the likes of Nancy Grace, Jane Velez Mitchell, Drew Pinsky, Vinnie Politano, or anyone else.

I'd know what she did was wrong and I'd feel forever responsible for it on some level. I'd share her burden of guilt and protect her, rather than turn her into a circus freak.

BTW, my daughter is a member here so if you're reading this, my baby girl, thank you in advance for never putting me to this test <3

idk - she is pretty well respected out here, especially at cal state long beach, even though i don't agree w/ a lot of things in her videos and writing, she has done good work - but i think dr drew nailed this one when he said she is trained to talk to abuse victims and not trained in criminal behavior, and thats basically how she was snowed by jodi

I'll never catch up! I had no idea another thread was started until Monday, so I've been trying to play catch up ever since.

I do have some comments and a question. I promise I did read all but maybe five pages of the 2,000 page thread and I'm working on all of this one, so if it's been discussed I truly wasn't able to put it into context. So, anyway, I missed the first two weeks (and then some) of the trial and so I've been catching up on that in lieu of that awful blahblahblah Jodi-was-so-abused lady.

Day 8: Jodi is really watching herself on camera when the interrogation tapes are played. I assume she's never seen them in jail? She almost has this look of "I want a do-over, I'll come up with a better story." Mean as it sounds, I loved seeing the longing on her face, back when she was still able to wear civilian clothes and before she knew she wasn't going to be able to "fix herself up" before her booking photo.

    Day 9: Same thing.

Day 10: OMG she looked like she just wanted to eat the old guy up! A few times I had a double take because she seriously looked like she was giving him this coy, I-know-you-still-love-and-want-me sly look. Made me want to find the vodka.

Now my question. One day 11, with poor Lisa Andrews on the stand, why is Jodi crying? Because Lisa is now married, free, and living a good life? Or because she's hearing how Travis actually dated someone else (when he and Jodi were NOT bf/gf) and was seriously interested in her? I just can't figure that out. She's been wah wah wah-ing for a good hour now and I just want someone to smack her already. I know these are days long past in this trial, but I am gearing up for the rebuttal and would rather watch old stuff that this lava lady.

Sorry off topic but where is my avatar? And where is everyone else's avatar? I am on a laptop; never changed my settings.

To get on topic, I really love how JM changed Lisa Andrews over as a prosecution witness. I loved it so much I may watch it again!

That makes sense, too...as a professional, I would like to be able to give her the benefit of a doubt that she did her research very well but then I think that, at some point in her career, she should have come across multiple calculating, abusive liars and *should* be able to tell sunshine from horseshit when it's literally staring her in the face.

I'm really looking forward to see what emerges on Martinez's cross with her and what's left standing and what crumbles under the test.

    1. no problem, I should have elaborated some with the initial question.
    2. I can see your reasoning but as a father I believe the best thing for my (adult) child would be to face the consequences of their actions. In the long run (this life or the next) they will be better off. Healthy relationships (to me) do not include covering up for a loved ones sins/crimes.

But that's probably where we'll have to respectfully agree to disagree.

In this day and age, justice was by and large removed from the equation what with the advancement of technology. People are tried and convicted and all but burned at the stake by the masses today thanks to the fuckery of shows such as those I mentioned above. Long gone are the days when trials were actually fair and press coverage of an actual trial was minimal. These days too many people are able to line their pockets with the blood of victims and based on all the sensationality they can squeeze out of the accused, long before a verdict is ever reached.

I would never, ever, under any circumstances want my daughter to become someone's mealtime fodder, to be pointed at and laughed at.

Which I suppose would make me an enormous hypocrite, as I myself make liberal use of my DVR so I can watch the trial myself.

But I don't point and laugh...instead I find myself shaking my head in disgust and confusion at just about everything in regards to this case and its far-reaching repercussions.

Sometimes the shoe is on the other foot. Sometimes children are made to help cover up for the crimes of an adult and the whole situation is beyond their control.

this kinda brings us back to the "love of a parent thing"..... I respect this...
My father was a prosecutor so I don't have as good of a grasp on "dense" (defense, lol, thanks Sneeks!) theory.

    my questions are:

Isn't it likely that the defense has impressed upon Arias' family that the appearence of their support could mean the difference between LWOP and death for Stabi?

Is it possible the defense is somehow providing some (maybe financial) support? Could they write it off somehow?

I haven't, but I would be interested to see it. I think I might have that channel (I have at least one Discovery channel variant, I think).

I was speaking from personal experience, unfortunately.

    (snipped for space)

Jodi wasn't crying on Day 11 until Martinez put up the autopsy picture of the slit throat. The whole room gasped because they weren't expecting it at that moment. So, little miss Jodi had to turn on the water works.

I think the OJ trial was probably the turning point, where the court room made the transition from standing for justice to representing mass media entertainment. It epitomized the term "3-ring circus." Now whenever a case where there's a whit of sensationalism involved, the media is all over it hoping to cash in on the tragedy and exploit it into oblivion.

Since then, the prevalence of the internet, and other immediate-gratification technology, have just intensified the situation.

It really is completely barbaric. I say this with no offense intended to any member because, to my knowledge, those of us who are members, old and new alike, are here because we have a genuine interest in crime, criminals and the judicial process. I don't believe "gore-whores" last long on this site because they soon find we're not the "crowd" that they were hoping to find.
