My first reaction was this "mistrial" motion has morphed into a LWOP plea. Probably wishful thinking but I can imagine JA wanting to control everything including who gets to pronounce her guilty.

This is what I was thinking too. We can hope.... to go through another cost and time and the emotion for Travis' friends and family is unimaginable. As long as stabby never sets foot outside a prison for the rest of her pathetic existence.

This is just a speculation, if a mistrial is imminent, I bet it wouldn't be out of the question for Travis family to accept some sort of plea deal. I doubt they want to go through this all over again. They are already emotionally and financially strapped.

If she pleas, it will be towards the end of trial so she can continue to enjoy this circus. It gets her out of jail for the day. She's enjoying this too much. If she makes a plea, she gets no appeals. Stabby will never plea to anything more than Murder 2.

Highly unlikely to reach a plea agreement for such a serious sentence. Her attorney would only let her accept manslaughter or 2nd degree.

It's the state that doesn't want to go through another trial - Jodi has the advantage. She has unlimited time and unlimited money. And she likes the attention. Why should she stop now?

They don't....but I think the prosecution would want their input into the situation if it possibly involves accepting a plea deal vs. going ahead with a whole new trial. Something major could be happening, here. The suspense is killing me!

form what I've seen in other trials the family has to give the green light to any deal... maybe not by law but by usual practice.

There was no plea before because Stabby was essentially trying to blackmail the State and TA's family/friends into a miniscule amount of jail time by saying she would drag him through mud, marriages would be affected, etc. It was quite a stunning document and shows how evil she really is. They may have changed their tune, with all of the testimony and evidence now known to exist against her. I can't imagine that the state won't retry her. But, if both sides agree that the risks of a mistrial and doing it all over again could outweigh the benefit of just getting the DP off the table, it may happen. Never know.

You don't actually believe the State would not try her again do you? They have no reason not to and have done so in other cases. I disagree, killer has no advantage.
