The case is more complicated than Jodi=evil and Travis=good. I've heard every rationalization possible to sweep Travis's behavior under the rug: I'm an asshole, it doesn't matter anyway, you can't say bad things about a dead man, he didn't really mean it, it's normal male behavior, Flores is lying, the Hughes are lying, etc. Travis did something extreme that made her decide to kill him and we still don't 100% know what it was. I don't hold him responsible for his death, but I wish I knew exactly why it happened, and knowing what kind of man he was helps point us in the right direction.
coconut, you'd be better off looking at what kind of person jodi Arias is. What personality disorder does she have? What are the red flags and how can you avoid people (especially dating people) with this personality disorder?

As a psychologist I know once explained to me, a person with a personality disorder could walk into a room, see you, decide that it's love at first sight and begin stalking you. You don't have to do a damn thing but just be there in the same room.

I'm sure Travis had his ways of pushing Jodi's buttons, but really, it doesn't matter. The main thing that he did wrong was to date her in the first place. The best thing we can do for ourselves is try to avoid dating psychopaths (which is the personality disorder that I think she has). If you begin to suspect that you are dating one, run away. Fast. And don't come back.

Doesn't sound like a good sign to me when they are calling the family back on a mistrial day. :(

I smell a mistrial! I hope I'm wrong, but it doesn't look good so far. I'm thinking a mistrial will = an acceptance of a plea deal or something because I don't see ANYONE wanting to go through all of this crap again.

I really do hope I'm wrong though.

    @WildAboutTrial 4min

I have heard that there is just a hallway back behind the bench and not really chambers. It's very secretive what is back there. #JodiArias

I don't see the family or Juam Martinez accepting a plea to Murder 2 and I don't see Stabby accepting Murder 1, life without parole.

how safe is it to put her and the family in the same room!? If I was part of his family, they wouldn't want me NEAR her. Talk about a mistrial!......

I remember when Chris Hughes was testifying and he said that someone told him Nurmi was a snake! He used the same tricks Flores did to compel people to give information. We can't judge him for the client that was assigned him.

Just remember how much incentive some people have for a mistrial. Having to start the whole process again means HLN will get even more coverage, and the defense team gets paid again for another case. I wonder if the retrial would be kept off television?

So what happens if its a mistrial, new jury and round 2, right? and if it's a plea i wonder what either team would accept.

Yeah i'm with you on that one. This one is a mess. How do they "choose" which trials will be covered like this one??

Chris didnt' blame someone else, he own it, HE called Nurmi a snake. Nurmi has gone way past what Flores did. And I can judge him, that's life. Can't stand him, hate what he does to the system, but, I blame the system for it being able to happen at all.

Agree, but if there is a retrial don't look for Nurmi to be in it! He hates her and hates he got stuck with this shit.

If it's a mistrial, can they refer back to this trial at all? What if she says something completely inconsistent at a new trial (but then again nothing she says is consistent anyway)..... but could they refer back to this trial and say something about her being on the stand before, and saying something completely opposite?

    PLEASE, GOD, NO MISTRIAL!

However, if there is, I will watch it again. I want to see JA get what is coming to her!

Just a bit of entertainment while we wait to see what the heck is going on in that courtroom

This person says this is what they think of when Nurmi/Willmott object:

No. It becomes a brand new trial. It's starts over fresh.

I don't think so. It's as if this trial never happened. I think.
