I think all of this is why the jury should have been sequestered!

Sequestering would be good to a point, but it still requires silence. I'm glad they are not sequestered, that would be Hell on a juror with children or other family. How do you explain this to a child? The only positive thing I'd see would be giving the juror time to reflect and think about what was said that day. I wonder if they can take notes with them if they were sequestered, and if not, would they be told they could not write anything on paper while they by themselves. That would be almost like in jail, except they'd not be in a jail cell.

I agree. Stabby has natural intelligence (I'm not saying she is Mensa material, but I think an IQ test would show she is above average intelligence).

If her plan to murder Travis has gone as I believe she envisioned it, she quite possibly would have got away with it. I believe she thought it would go like the shower scene from Psycho... stab, stab, stab in the shower and the victim dies IN the shower without ever fighting back and all the blood and mess washes down the drain. She did not think Travis would fight back. If things had gone as planned, there would be no bloody palm print in the hall, no hair of hers stuck in blood, no photos of dragging the body, probably no total overkill, and I bet she would have remembered to take the memory card or the whole camera away with her. It would have been a totally circumstantial case.



I don't think Stabby's failure to request an attorney was due to stupidity. I think it was due to her extreme narcissism which made her think she could talk her way out of the whole mess because she felt sure they did not really have any strong evidence against her. She had talked her way out of messes her whole life, and thought she could talk her way out of this one too. I also think she believed it looked more "innocent" to not ask for an attorney... "see, I'm willing to talk, I don't need an attorney because I am so innocent". I also don't think Stabby's changing her story is due to bad memory. I think the story evolved to fit the evidence.... when she felt convinced there was strong new evidence, she changed her story to fit it.

Her thinking that it would play out like a movie is very childish. Plus, Travis was strong, he worked out and exercised all the time. If that really was her plan, she's dumber than I thought.
She changed her story repeatedly while she was on the stand because she couldn't keep track of her own lies. It was stupid to talk so much on direct, knowing every word she said would be cross-examined.

QUESTION: Jodi sang "O Holy Night" in the interrogation room, very off-key. She sang it better for the jailhouse competition thing. Were Christmas hymns the only songs permitted in the competition, or was this her own choice? It bothers me because it is one of the songs I learned in elementary school, it's a rather difficult song to sing. Where did she learn it? (I guess I'm just 1 of another group of people Jodi pissed off, church choir singers.) :)

In my opinion, I doubt the hearing would be handled in open court since it has to do with a juror. I could be wrong but I think it would again be a sealed hearing.

Im pretty sure in the States a suspect has to be apprised of the fact they are being recorded. Jodi is intelligent in her sociopathic/psychopathic way. Our whole goal if we get caught is how the crud are we gonna get out of this....I prolly would have done the same thing. Jodi is off her game in these tapes. Her mind is racing too fast on how she is going to get herself out of trouble. Too bad for her....game over.

There's a US Supreme Court mandate that allows most State's, (CA & AZ included), eavesdropping laws to be 'one-party consent', (regarding the videotaping of interrogation interviews). This means that only one person needs to consent. So the consent of the person who is recording it is enough to make it legal! This is why I surmise that there is a good possibility that she did not know she was being videotaped, and that the detectives made it appear that the tape recorder on the table, was the only recordable device.

The other point regarding Jodi's intelligence. IMO she is manipulative and devious but not intelligent! Not for a psychopath! Although, I'm sure you can get dense ones too! Every step of this tragic journey, Jodi has made a catalogue of huge blunders, leaving a trail of wretched horror in her wake. Just IMHO!
