that's where everyone has their own opinion Lurker. They had a break up to make up rollercoaster of a relationship. They both loved the drama and he was addicted to the sex and she was his drug.Sometimes a relationship can't be fixed because it's so broken. It's easier sometimes to start over with someone with a clean slate. They were both pros at being dumped...

No because in the end....I acted a fool at times too, so did I emotionally abuse him?
Really in order to move on.....I had to come to terms with the fact that I put myself in the situatio I was in by allowing myself to feel like I did. Nobody can use me....unless I let them, nobody can abuse me, unless I let them!

Also whoever said that this time was different with her because he ended it, unlike the other relationships that she ended...I agree!

As far as how Travis was sexually, the only ex-GF (other than Jodi) to testify has been Lisa Andrews. If you look at her testimony, she said that she felt Travis was too aggressive during their makeout sessions, that there was too much making out in the relationship, that he wanted her just for her body, had sex on his mind from the beginning, made her feel used and dirty and grabbed her butt in public which she was very offended by...it's all there in her testimony.

On cross exam Martinez got her to admit that she was fresh out of high school and a virgin at the time, so her idea of 'aggressive' making out, etc. was from a very naive viewpoint. But the most important point was that when Lisa confronted Travis about these things and ASKED HIM TO STOP, HE STOPPED. He NEVER forced anything on her. Contrast that with Jodi, who said YES to EVERYTHING, from the very start...not only yes to sex but yes to every possible kinky fantasy his little Mormon mind could imagine, plus adding a few of her own.

So he might have been a 'player' but it was a Mormon version of a player. Kinda like a high school kid in the 1950s, seeing how far he could get during makeout sessions but never getting past 1st or 2nd base (if you believe as many here do that he was still a virgin when he met Jodi.) He must have felt like a kid set loose in a candy store at first, but eventually too much 'candy' made him sick...and we all know how that ended.

Why did Ted Bundy let some girls just walk away?

If you want to study "why", you study the perpetrator.

Jodi did not just want Travis, she wanted his life. She was envious & jealous of him. He was a "star" at PPL, had a cadre of dear friends, and he achieved this all of his own accord.

Jodi used men as stepping stones to advance herself through life, and had no close friends.

Travis was a virgin -- this is how she could latch onto his rocketship. Sex was his achilles heel, it was obvious.

"I'll let you do anything to me anytime you want, Travis," was her inner bargain, "just keep me along for the ride."

For a while it was interesting, then serious for a bit, then slowly Travis began inching her further and further out of his life and out of his world.

Jodi went from sex friend to girlfriend to hidden secret to borrower to being his housekeeper(!) Talk about debasing.

The imbalance of power was too much for her -- he had PPL, those were his friends, that was his world ..... and he could take it all from her in a snap.

Jodi only had this: "I love Travis Victor Alexander so completely I don`t know any other way to be."

So Jodi finds she could not compete with Travis on any level. He wins every time.

As he moved away, Jodi began to exert the last vestige of power she could on him -- she began stalking Travis.

Stalking is the ultimate desperate act of a compromised personality to control another person.

She tries making up fake suitors. She follows him, breaks into his house, rifles through his social media and email accounts, slashes his and his date's tires, and sends frightening anonymous emails to potential girlfriends.

Jodi has lost control. Of Travis. Of getting into his life. Of his friends. Of her life.

She has spent every last dollar on pursuing Travis and she owes "everyone" money, including him. No way she can pay all that back.

Travis let her know in no uncertain terms that she would never be worthy of being his wife. Never. And don't forget to leave a check for the money you owe me on your way out!

So one last chance, she'll give him. One last luring of him through his sexual weakness. Promises of pigtails & pictures & whatever... just to get in the door.

Travis? Will you take me to Cancun now?

Never. I'd rather go with a woman who does not think I'm even worthy husband material than you.

    Last chance? Sure?

Mmm'kay. But let's take some pictures of your hot new body ... open the shower door, let me see...

Then rage. Rage for every person in her life who has let her down, rage for her powerlessness, rage for kicking her to the curb ..... blind crazed rage.

Powerful!!! And so, so true, down to the last (!) (Love the "Play Misty For Me" reference. Beside the obvious, it was set in Monterey/Big Sur.)

Personally, I think it was something akin to "The Perfect Storm" of their unique personalities crossing paths. Together, they created a deadly vortex that neither could escape from. And it was toxic and bound to end badly, from the moment they met. But Jodi has no defense to the fact that she chose to murder the man she probably "blamed" for her woes. She only sees life in terms of how it revolves around her. Now, she needs to own up to that, and pay the price for her actions....whatever the court decides that the price is.

Jodi was willing to do it all, and then some, and was at least somewhat sexually aggressive in other relationships. Perhaps the temptation was too much to resist?

According to Stabby. While I don't doubt they had anal, we have only Stabby's word that it was all anal all the time. Plus, while it is a stupid rationalization (anal not being as "sinful"), it is a rationalization I could see someone who was torn between their faith and their lust making.

We only have Stabby's word for this, and I don't buy it. I think she wanted a serious relationship with him from the very start. He was a big step up for her, and she did not plan to let that chance go.

I think Stabby became a Mormon because SHE thought it would increase her chances of catching him. She realized it was a big part of his life, and that joining could help her get what she wanted. I don't think it is fair to claim Travis used Mormonism or his lifestyle as a carrot. Stabby saw a lifestyle far beyond what she was used to, and she wanted to be part of it and was willing to go a long way to get it. I don't see how that can be blamed on Travis.
I heard a Mormon caller on NG who said many Mormans rationalize by the saying "Oral is Moral" and I read another sentiment on a Mormon blog "Anal is A O Kay". This is said to be a very popular notion at the BYU campus along with the "Provo PUSH" that Stabby testified about.

The case is more complicated than Jodi=evil and Travis=good. I've heard every rationalization possible to sweep Travis's behavior under the rug: I'm an asshole, it doesn't matter anyway, you can't say bad things about a dead man, he didn't really mean it, it's normal male behavior, Flores is lying, the Hughes are lying, etc. Travis did something extreme that made her decide to kill him and we still don't 100% know what it was. I don't hold him responsible for his death, but I wish I knew exactly why it happened, and knowing what kind of man he was helps point us in the right direction.

I disagree on him doing something extreme that made her do anything. She was not made to do anything any more than I am. She chose to do something.
And whatever he did that she felt was extreme may have been as simple as her clearly grasping he was done with her and her tricks weren't going to change it. Maybe they had one last fuzzy bumping but he still said "I'm done with you" afterwards and she knew he meant it? we will never know but she made her choices and she alone bears the responsiblity. Just as I would if I went ape poopy and hurt or killed another human being.
And my bad childhood can kick her bad childhood's ass without even breaking a sweat. Shit happens, we evolve but we don't get to play God along the way. She needs to own what she did.

I don't think you're an asshole , but I think you're asking the wrong questions about the wrong person. Stabby is a psychopath, trying to figure why does/did anything is like trying to figure out why fish fuck in water. Queenaevadamthng and Sheesh give the most probable answers in their quotes below.

If they need a replacement, I can think of at least one eager volunteer.

LMAO. Just trying to read the tea leaves everyone else, but I noted that the motion for mistrial/misconduct is heavy on the aggravating factors in seeking the DP.

TA had given her a taste of what the good life was. As a sociopath she thought she was entitled to it and it infuriated her that he was going to kick her to the curb. Don't you know once she went from staying in a nice place like TA's to that cramped little room in a stinky cigarette stenched little house, she sat there at night and seethed with anger. Then adding fuel to the fire was TA sending the hateful text telling her to get out of his life. Then add into the mix the fact that Mimi was going on a vacation getaway with TA that Hodi thought she was entitled to. She went to TA's with the full intent to kill him if he didn't change his mind about the trip, Mimi, being with her. June 4th was TA's last chance to give Hodi what she wanted. So you can imagine after a day on her knees and taking it up the ass she was livid when he dismissed her to carry on with his plans.

Ok ya'll, I know we are all addicted and jonesed over the interrogation tapes but somebody actually took the time to transcribe them.

If the Judge and prosecution agree to the dismissal of Juror number 5 aren't they essentially saying the whole jury tainted? How will that play on appeal?

HLN fucks up everything! They left the door open for this juror crap and now, I bet it's going to spiral into a tainted jury. They are not allowed to deliberate in advance, so numb nuts should have kept her mouth shut. I still don't know why the jury was not sequestered. I know, I'm a Maricopa County resident and some of my taxes go to Stabby's defense but it was the only way to have a fair trial since they knew it was going to be highly publicized. Well, I hope I am wrong about this but if I am not, I won't say I am completely shocked.

I'll sort of be glad for tomorrow and get some new scoop. I'm not holding my breath that it will start on time with this latest development. My highlight, as for most of us, will be when JM starts the cross.
They are saying the very soonest the trial will be over is on the 15th.

I was referring to what happened last week when Jean Casaras was on the stand. It plants a seed then the flower grows in my opinion. Not that the DT and Stabby haven't been profiling the jury since day one anyways.

It's a little bizarre that some of their "talent" has become part of the trial, with Casarez testifying. They are cutting it very close by talking about specific jurors on air. And don't forget Trial Superstar Jr.

This is a new low. Really. Even for HLN.

(And she said nothing important or illustrative at all, so it was all utterly pointless).

Their "talent" had to testify because of the defense thinking they "had the goods" with jury tampering. She was very articulate to say she did not see anyone and didn't say what she was accused of.
As for talking about specific jurors, they have not, except for juror 5 with the different hair. We don't know her and she doesn't know what's been spoken.

I hope that their antics don't cause reason for a mistrial, or create a reason for an appeal to overturn the eventual verdict. I have watched as they release their "bomb shells" and we see pictures that haven't appeared anywhere else.....and it's almost like they are TRYING to cross the legal boundaries.

text message TA sent Stabby on May 10, 2008, which stated, "Why don't you have him come and fuck you in the woods, I can only imagine you are so worried about me reading. You are paranoid because you have no respect for people privacy and you dare insult me of all people. Someone you have should through your actions you hate more than love by denying me a human right of privacy countless times. You have a lot of freaking nerve. We are not all like you in that aspect."
