It really was. It was good to see Mimi's testimony again. Hers is the only one I can't find on youtube (besides the audio only one).
Yes, I wear earbuds and sound only comes out of the left bud. I started to think that the right bud had crapped out but played a song in iTunes and both worked, so it's his videos.
I listened to her testimony yesterday, and they had it again today on HLN. Travis told her he was not temple worthy, but she said he didn't tell her why, and she didn't ask because it wasn't her business (words to that effect).
I personally don't think Travis was player, but a flirt. Player (from Urban Dictionary):
It didn't seem like he was trying to have sex with anyone else. Mimi Hall testified that when she told Travis he should take someone else to Cancun, he told her there wasn't anyone else he wanted to take. He also told her it was a free trip, they wouldn't be alone, and she would be staying in a room with a little girl. Who doesn't want a free trip to Cancun with no strings attached?!?A male who is skilled at manipulating ("playing") others, and especially at seducing women by pretending to care about them, when in reality they are only interested in sex. Possibly derived from the phrases "play him for a fool", or "play him like a violin". The term was popularized by hip-hop culture, but was commonly recognized among urban American blacks by the 1970s.
"so he ejaculated on your face and threw you some candy?"
Flores was playing the game with JA that all detectives do at one time. I have seen this tactic on many occasion years ago when I worked at the police dept and a lot of the times it works. Commiserate with the suspect.."yeah, we all know TA was a player...he mistreated you...yada yada yada...then they do the I don't blame you for hurting, killing, molesting..blah blah blah..I would have done it too..." Hodi knew what the detective was playing at..BUT she also knew that her ass was pretty much busted. That's why she started acting out the DSM symptom by symptom that she knew off the top of her head. She also knew to try crying with the male detective and not waste tears with the female because women are less sympathetic with other women or so it is thought.
When did JA change to the story of self defense
How many times did he break her fingers?
I also was thinking that but you beat me to it. She has been visibly studying the jury trying to make eye contact. It's not unreasonable to think that she saw #5 make a gesture to her that she didn't like. In the end, I think it's another fruitless way of Stabby trying to manipulate the court. Nurmi probably rolls his eyes every time she says he has to try for a mistrial. He knows she's whacked and deserves what is coming. How many times is it now that they have tried for mistrial? I count at least a half-dozen.
Crime victims rarely MAKE their attackers do something. Jodi may have a million excuses for what she did -- Travis was a player. Travis didn't pay enough attention to her. Travis broke up with her after sex. Travis was alive. The sky was blue. She hates plaid and she spotted a plaid shirt in his closet.
What the fuck ever her excuse was, it isn't one that excuses, mitigates, or in any way changes the fact that she killed him.
I would suggest, as others have, of instead of looking at what Travis did, check out Stabby's past, and see if you can make more sense of it that way.
Travis told her to take a hike. While that's a bummer, it isn't a 'reason' to do anything other than walk away with your head held high, then close yourself off in your room for three days with ice cream and soppy romance movies.
It's impossible for us to say without knowing what the juror said, and how many others heard it. It could be insignificant, or it could be grounds for a mistrial. I'm sure the jurors are frustrated and it would be easy to let something slip that reflected that. The defense is obligated to pursue it.
If they need a replacement, I can think of at least one eager volunteer.

I think it's twice now, once on January 21 or 22nd and also in the struggle for his life. She seems to be a fairly clutzy woman, always cutting herself.
That's a pretty good oneI do think it something really WAS said, it deserves followup. The defense would not be doing their job if they didn't try to find any way they can to set Stabby free.
she obviosly did ..... all of us sitting on the outside looking in and saying hey "All guys do it" or "i do it" is their choice.I think the people on the inside of this religion are embarrassed. If they are not where are they? The one thing I can't wrap my head around as a guy is even more than his being this "playa" that he was, was why Jodi? Here's a guy who saves his cherry for "the one" and he chose HER to give it to.He also went from a 30 year old virgin to Joe Anal to protect his status in this religion? really?.Comming from a guy who motivates people and was concidered to be this wonderful guy now everybody question's his judgement? It was HIS judgement who made these choices.Did she help him? sure.In relationship things go at different paces .When he was all wining and dining jetsetting all over the US with her she wasn't "as into him as he was into her" but as time went by she caught up and surpassed him while he was putting on the breaks. The problem was as he was putting on the breaks he was sending mixed signals. The carrot of "Join me as a Morman and you'll be more marriage material" she did.Who does that? would anybody here?not me, not ever but we as outsiders don't and won't ever understand. She went for the carrots he put out there,he just kept moving the carrot..Everyone say's there's no abuse there.I believe mental abuse happens alot more than than people know and is very difficult to know how deep the wounds affect people. Some people's click to "go off" factor is closer to the surface than others.Far be it for me to know when that is in others...
IMO why TA and not her other ex-bf's is pretty clear...$$$$$$$$..she thought that she had finally snagged a big one one with that pirahna poon of hers. She was done with the broke losers she wanted the good life and she saw TA as being her cashcow. She liked driving nice cars, living in a nice place, going on nice vacations. TA had given her a taste of what the good life was. As a sociopath she thought she was entitled to it and it infuriated her that he was going to kick her to the curb. Don't you know once she went from staying in a nice place like TA's to that cramped little room in a stinky cigarette stenched little house, she sat there at night and seethed with anger. Then adding fuel to the fire was TA sending the hateful text telling her to get out of his life. Then add into the mix the fact that Mimi was going on a vacation getaway with TA that Hodi thought she was entitled to. She went to TA's with the full intent to kill him if he didn't change his mind about the trip, Mimi, being with her. June 4th was TA's last chance to give Hodi what she wanted. So you can imagine after a day on her knees and taking it up the ass she was livid when he dismissed her to carry on with his plans.
He never broke her finger. However, she says he broke her finger in an argument after she caught him masturbating to a photo of a little boy in underwear. So, once per Jodi. Never, per everyone else. The same finger was injured during the stabbing when the knife slipped in her hand and slit her fingers deeply. I don't think it was ever broken. Maybe the tendons were cut after she sliced herself on the knife and it healed wonky.
I agree with whoever mentioned emotional abuse is real....but it's hard to decide what's abuse. I'm sure she emotionally abused him just as much as he may have her. I've had the feeling that life will end with a relationships end and felt helpless, and figured the guy was an asshole & led me on. Did he emotionally abuse me? No because in the end....I acted a fool at times too, so did I emotionally abuse him?
Really in order to move on.....I had to come to terms with the fact that I put myself in the situatio I was in by allowing myself to feel like I did. Nobody can use me....unless I let them, nobody can abuse me, unless I let them!
Also whoever said that this time was different with her because he ended it, unlike the other relationships that she ended...I agree!
A couple possibilities: First, sociopaths can be very charming and extremely manipulative. I find it unlikely Travis had ever encountered any female who pursued him the way Stabby did. Plus, he was used to dating chaste Mormon girls, where even kissing appears to mean quite a lot, unlike in most of the rest of society. Jodi was willing to do it all, and then some, and was at least somewhat sexually aggressive in other relationships. Perhaps the temptation was too much to resist?
According to Stabby. While I don't doubt they had anal, we have only Stabby's word that it was all anal all the time. Plus, while it is a stupid rationalization (anal not being as "sinful"), it is a rationalization I could see someone who was torn between their faith and their lust making.
We only have Stabby's word for this, and I don't buy it. I think she wanted a serious relationship with him from the very start. He was a big step up for her, and she did not plan to let that chance go.
I think Stabby became a Mormon because SHE thought it would increase her chances of catching him. She realized it was a big part of his life, and that joining could help her get what she wanted. I don't think it is fair to claim Travis used Mormonism or his lifestyle as a carrot. Stabby saw a lifestyle far beyond what she was used to, and she wanted to be part of it and was willing to go a long way to get it. I don't see how that can be blamed on Travis.
Were you crying when you were stabbing him? --SuperJuan Martinez
Nobody believes a word out of your mouth. Why do you keep talking? -- ABC Interviewer to JA
I get what you're saying but I think you're pointed in the wrong direction. You are looking at the victim to determine why he became the victim.
Why did Ted Bundy let some girls just walk away?
If you want to study "why", you study the perpetrator.
Jodi did not just want Travis, she wanted his life. She was envious & jealous of him. He was a "star" at PPL, had a cadre of dear friends, and he achieved this all of his own accord.
Jodi used men as stepping stones to advance herself through life, and had no close friends.
Travis was a virgin -- this is how she could latch onto his rocketship. Sex was his achilles heel, it was obvious.
"I'll let you do anything to me anytime you want, Travis," was her inner bargain, "just keep me along for the ride."
For a while it was interesting, then serious for a bit, then slowly Travis began inching her further and further out of his life and out of his world.
Jodi went from sex friend to girlfriend to hidden secret to borrower to being his housekeeper(!) Talk about debasing.
The imbalance of power was too much for her -- he had PPL, those were his friends, that was his world ..... and he could take it all from her in a snap.
Jodi only had this: "I love Travis Victor Alexander so completely I don`t know any other way to be."
So Jodi finds she could not compete with Travis on any level. He wins every time.
As he moved away, Jodi began to exert the last vestige of power she could on him -- she began stalking Travis.
Stalking is the ultimate desperate act of a compromised personality to control another person.
She tries making up fake suitors. She follows him, breaks into his house, rifles through his social media and email accounts, slashes his and his date's tires, and sends frightening anonymous emails to potential girlfriends.
Jodi has lost control. Of Travis. Of getting into his life. Of his friends. Of her life.
She has spent every last dollar on pursuing Travis and she owes "everyone" money, including him. No way she can pay all that back.
Travis let her know in no uncertain terms that she would never be worthy of being his wife. Never. And don't forget to leave a check for the money you owe me on your way out!
So one last chance, she'll give him. One last luring of him through his sexual weakness. Promises of pigtails & pictures & whatever... just to get in the door.
Travis? Will you take me to Cancun now?
Never. I'd rather go with a woman who does not think I'm even worthy husband material than you.
Last chance? Sure?
Mmm'kay. But let's take some pictures of your hot new body ... open the shower door, let me see...
Then rage. Rage for every person in her life who has let her down, rage for her powerlessness, rage for kicking her to the curb ..... blind crazed rage.
