Whew! Finally caught up on Part II...thanks, MDS, for giving us another chance.

Too tired to watch the vids tonight but will get on it first thing in the morning. She's such a psychopath.

Earlier I was watching the vid of Day 3 of the trial and it brought it all back home how absolutely brutal the murder was. Hope she gets DP; this slaying calls for it. Watched the portion when Samantha and Tanisha had to leave the courtroom. Made me think of my brother and wondered whatever would I do if this had happened to him. Thank God he is married and has 3 kids.

Good night, all. Tomorrow's another day to read and watch the vids. Glad we're all back together again!

Watching watching 1st tape and I had to laugh when Flores says, "you have the right to remain silent ....". I spewed at that and thought, this chick hasn't STFU in 5 years! I wanna scream SHUT UP at her sometimes.

You guys I have become a major Jodiholic ... ii have used up 2/3 of my Vdays to watch this trial and it's only the end of March...but dang, I need my trial fix! My friends think I'm nuts .. they don't even know what the "Jodi Trial" is! I try to explain and they look at me kinda weird and move along. Thank goodness I have you all to talk with about all this.

What happened with the code messages she was sending out of the jail via magazines. What was her "explanation" of that? Did the defense address it, or was it left at her insinuation that it wasn't her?

I think JM will be bringing it back up in rebuttal. He likes to get just to the edge edge of something good then cools it....he's like a shark circling his prey. Rebuttal is going to be AMAZING! He's left a lot of loose ends.

A lot of people criticize that lady cop from Yreka, but I think she did a good job. She got into Jodi's head talking to her for hours, even though Jodi didn't open up to her. Jodi knew Det. Flores was from Mesa and thought he would fill her in with details.

Non Jodi watchers don't get it. I don't spend my life watching trials (but admitidly got caught up with OJ and Casey), but what makes this one so intriguing is the lying and waiting and hoping she'll break. They can't seem to trip her up in any way, so that's quite a skill. If it had been a normal trial, I doubt if I would have gotten so involved.

It's too bad Jodi took the path of not bettering herself beyond being a waitress. This girl has so many built in mental skills, and without education. She's a singer, self taught in Spanish and sign language, a gift of speech and memory skills. I wonder if she's ever had an IQ test. I bet she would have scored high.
As smart as she was, a slipup did her in.
In time, the law would have cornered her, but it wouldn't have been so easy except for evidence left behind. She missed the memory card in the camera, that one and only palm print she somehow missed in her cleanup, she for some reason still had those receipts.

I too see some things that seem to not have an end, so I'm expecting more from JM later.

What exactly is a rebuttal? It sounds like a mini trial after the main one to bring up things or tie up the loose ends.

It's just a continuation of the trial. The prosecutor gets to call more witnesses to "rebut" what the defense witnesses have said. He'll have his own psych expert to disagree with Jodi's experts. He may call some people Jodi named in her testimony to show their stories don't match Jodi's version.
    It's gonna be fun.

I think she did a good job, but it still drove me nuts with the pace. Being the compassionate detective obviously didn't work. Jodi really remained in control. But, then again, Jodi kept to her story so well even under the bullets of JM while testifying.
As for Flores, he remained cool throughout his questioning too. But, on his last few minutes with her, Jodi still tried to rope him in, but he clearly was disgusted and said SEE YA.

So, I just woke up from a really weird Jodi dream where she was in a made-for-tv movie (& played by Alanis Morissette)...

I should probably stop reading this thread before bed.
I was wondering, I know there isn't any court today, but there is court tomorrow, right? Anyone have the time handy... and can translate it into Philly time... for the specially challenged, like me.

    TIA =)

So, once Alyce gets off the stand, and JM brings on his so called violence expert, is that the start of rebuttal?

Jodi is not smart at all. Have you been watching the interrogation tapes that just been released? She was read her rights at least twice and told she could have a FREE attorney. Yet, she sat talking to the detectives for days, expecting them to give her advice.
She must have been making some good money when she was waitressing at the resorts. People tip by % of the bill, so there's a 4x bigger tip on a $12.00 hamburger than a $3.00 hamburger.
Her memory isn't good either. She kept changing the details of important parts of her story.

Ha, she entered my dream a few nights ago hunting and reading text messages!

I figure 12:30 is east coast time for tomorrow, I'm in your time zone.

I wonder if this trial has gotten under our skin in real life, maybe I'm the crazy one. I've got red gas cans for my generator (I look at them differently now), I go by a gas station and see her filling her gas tank and gas cans in separate transactions, last night I had some blood drops on my sink as I was going to cook some meat and said a detective would say AHAH, gotta test that blood.
Sorry for my crazy posts, but until tomorrow afternoon, there's time for getting things out of the way. I'm not sure that all previous people have found this new thread, I had the old one marked but kept seeing it as closed. While playing around on the site, I accidentally found this one. Good thing, because I was going through Jodi withdrawal thanks to some nasty and off subject posts by just a few.

I'm saying her entire life could have been more productive in some way, but she either wasn't guided in any direction (that's clear with her teen defiance and no parental rapport) or she just got caught up in herself adding to her mental disease process.
Why she chose not to accept an attorney, who knows?
So far she has mixed up a few things, yes, but she has somehow managed no slipups when she entered her fog, despite tricky questions about things within that fog. There were no "aha moments to say "gotcha". We all know her story was a farce, and the timeline says so, but she's sticking to her story.

That was one gross display, her not only showing her obvious "displeasure" at the their selection of sandwich (pulling the bread off, inspecting the contents, picking out the insides), but how she ate it. I do wonder what it was, though, lol...I'm sure they chose something standard, e.g. ham and cheese, tuna fish. But NO, not good enough for the murderess, not up to "Purple Plum" or her daddy's diner's standards. If I had been in her place I would have been so grateful to have been given ANYTHING to eat following such an ordeal.

It was the way she ate that got to me. She was picking up pieces and her hand moved so fast to put whole pieces in her mouth. Never saw her chew. Saw Donovan in court chewing gum last week. Her entire face was moving. I have issues about how people eat.

Does anyone have a theory about how JM will get the picture from TA's MySpace (when he was little and in Spidies) into Rebuttal? I think that would be a big BOMBSHELL and jury will be sickened by Pedo accusations by Stabby. Have been trying to figure out exactly how JM can get it in, and who he will call.

Just to clarify. I was commending the female detective. My guess is that she used words 'control' and 'power' and 'how you will be portrayed' to appeal to Arias' ego and narcissism. I admired the detectives approach. They knew who Jodi really was.
