Don't get me wrong. I know you have to work long and hard to earn a doctorate. Just saying there are diploma mills out there.
Seriously? Can someone get a job in the field with one of these "fake" degrees? Does your sister's ex work in the field of his degree?

Absolutely! Each disorder is different. I was worried for my children after their dad committed suicide...and with my own life-long battles with anxiety disorders. But my doctor explained that genetic predispositon does not mean they will develop the same conditions. What I meant by my previous post, was that nurture, alone, does not create a borderline or a sociopath. There has to be some malfunction on the physiological level, as well. All research conducted in mental health have indicated strong links to biochemical and biophysical causes, and not just a "state of mind" as was once thought. Truly, no one has unlocked the entire mystery, yet....and probably won't for a long time to come. The human brain is so complex.

Boo! Going to have to listen to the trial on Sirius XM HLN. That'll be SUPER delayed. They drive me crazy with all of their damn commercial breaks. Too much to do today so I can't watch the live stream : (

LOL It starts at 1pm PST/MST and 4pm EST

Ok, I rewatched yesterday morning's testimony looking for Trick Dick stuffing that marked court exhibit in his bag and couldn't find it so it must have been yesterday afternoon's session. I'll watch that later.

After rewatching yesterday morning's testimony it is very clear what a thorough job JM did in dismantling Trick Dick's direct testimony. I'm always surprised by how much gets missed during live testimony because of waiting/anticipating what's next.

Highly recommend rewatching the cross of Tricky Dick!

He's already meet the requirements to prove it, by Jodi's own claims.

Burglary is typically defined as the unlawful entry into almost any structure (not just a home or business) with the intent to commit any crime inside (not just theft/larceny). No physical breaking and entering is required; the offender may simply trespass through an open door. Unlike robbery, which involves use of force or fear to obtain another person's property, there is usually no victim present during a burglary.
    http://criminal.findlaw.com/criminal...efinition.html

All she had to do was walk through an open door and commit a crime. She said the gun was Travis' and she took it with her; that meets the requirements.

On a side note, HLN just had one of their anchors sort of do a better re-enactment, in that they did a timed one that I just saw. The problem is, they showed a 1-person re-enactment, and the guy was stabbing frantically (all what would have been chest stabs and neglecting the back stabs and the throat slit). They timed it 59 seconds, with HLN guy rushing like a mo-fo.

So yeah, again, not an accurate and faithful recreation, but a better attempt.

ok so is premeditation when she went right at the closet instead of left to go down the stairs? or when she climbed the selves to fetch the gun? or when she pointed it at him? or all of the above?.It is these non truths that will deturmine her fate.Ironic eh?

Her grampa's gun is mysteriously stolen and Travis coincidentally happens to be killed by the same caliber of weapon.[/QUOTE]

And also, this is a very unusual caliber. My husband and also our friend's father (the gun expert) both gave me odd looks when I said the .25. Both stated something to the fact that it is a very uncommon caliber.

That makes it even more unlikely that there were two .25 calibers here - one owned by her grandparents (which we know existed) and one owned by Travis (which I highly, highly doubt). The coincidence that would take for a .25 is just too much. Now if it had been a .45, 9mm or heck, even a .22 it would be a bit more believable.

Also, just read the story on TJ Lane...the gun he killed those three HS students with (and paralyzed one other) was a .22 - this is a smaller caliber than a .25 even and it was capable of plenty of damage.

I didn't tell people about my abuse. Not at first, and then I only told my best friend and my mother. There were never police reports. If I had ever tried to defend myself, and ended up killing him, there would be next to no proof. So it would have been vital for me to be able to say, "Yes, he abused me. Yes, he wanted to make a sex slave out of me. Yes, he enjoyed humiliating me. Yes, he burned me".

I shouldn't say that there wouldn't have been evidence (one look at the porn on his hard drive would have proven his obession with humiliating sex play), but even so...to be able to say it would have been important in defending myself. There are many, many women out there who never report abuse, and never talk about it. I want them to be able to make "unsubstantiated" claims as well.

Jodi is making a mockery of real abuse. But it is vital to every other woman out there that yes, she be allowed to say these things. It makes it easier to pooh-pooh her story because there is NO evidence. Anywhere. Like I said, my ex's computer would have been a testament to what kind of activities he enjoyed (non-consensual, heavy-bondage, humiliating sex play). But Travis has nothing; little to no porn, nothing to link him to child porn, just...nothing.

This brings to mind something, and I've wondered about this for a while now. Is there anyone besides Travis's friends who have noticed weird things about Jodi? I mean, to some extent, I don't know how much of what they say can be 100% trusted. They hate Jodi, so I don't know if a lot of what they say is accurate -- not that they are lying, but how much of their perception of Jodi has changed since she's been arrested? So how much more have they built up the stories in their minds about her actions? I mean no disrespect. It's just natural to really, really blow things up, or make them seem worse when you hate someone.

Are there people out there who have dealt with her who know her to be honest? Are there people out there who know her to be a liar? Where are Jodi's friends? Why was there just the one ex-boyfriend whom she shared the abuse with? Why doesn't she seem to have girlfriends?
Jodi's girlfriend from 10 years who is trying to sell her postcards on E-bay said she was a nice quiet girl who couldn't do such a thing, blah, blah, blah. Someone else said she wouldn't hurt a fly. She says she called her sister Angela when she was upset because she saw Travis with another girl, but got her father. Abe A. said she looked good and could string a couple of sentences together, he didn't find her creepy. Maybe Martinez will bring in more people on the rebuttal - she brought up a few names on direct, maybe we'll hear their version.
It seems all Travis' Mormon friends thought there was something wrong with her - well, she wasn't a good Mormon, was she?

I just listened to the entire day 1 of the trial that was posted a couple of pages ago. Juan and Nurmi repeatedly quizzed Mimi about the wards, FHE, sins, being temple worthy and more. Jodi did not fit in with those good people.

I think we all agree the killing and crime were very likely premeditated, planned weeks in advance. But to the jury... from the list of coincidences, I see evidence of planning a crime or something shady, but do I see evidence of planning a murder? That I am less sure about. The gun is the key - if the coincidental theft is enough for the jury then we have premeditation. I am not sure it will be enough.

Does setting up an alibi mean you premeditated murder? We don't know exactly what she was planning, and her behavior at his house was not typical... the defense will say if she planned it she would have killed him when she got there or when he was asleep.

And I apprieciate your banter but she did not enter with the intention of theft, rape ,grevious bodily harm,or damage,or entered as a trespasser. That's where this becomes a sticky wicket.I realize when she first stabbed him she became a trespasser but she did not enter as one.She did not become a theif (thievery is to deprive someone of something they own)until she walked out of the house. And not to beat a dead horse I know this is all a BS story.I don't see it as burglery I see it as theft..........and they are different

She stole the gun from her Grandparent's house on May 28, how much more than that do you need to formulate a "plan"?

I'm guessing somebody from the defense has seen the comments about Jodi and Wilmott dressing like twins. That, or Jodi didn't get the memo that it's Purple Day.

Shouldn't Willmott have asked Trick Dicky how he arrives at a diagnoses before this? What he is describing now in NO way describes what he did upon encountering Stabby in this case. He went in with a "hypothesis" that she had PTSD/Amnesia and formed his diagnoses around it!

I think Willmott and Nurmi are just f*cking with her now. They left her out of the St. Patrick's Day green fest as well!

I'm confused. Why would an evaluator make a speculative diagnosis, then conduct interviews to see if they were right?

Is that common? I guess I always assumed that an evaluator would conduct interviews, then make a diagnosis.

A huge chunk of that is Nurmi's salary. $225 adds up fast.

I noticed that. Nurmi and Willmott didn't match yesterday or today. I wonder if they felt ridiculed. Rightly so.
