Also, Jodi testified that she grabbed the gun just as Travis began opening the opposite door....so, how could he have been in the closet, grabbing after Jodi's sweater? And she said she doesn't remember the gun going off. Methinks Doc Dick fucks up a little more with every word that comes out of his mouth!

Late as usual here (damned real life interfering with this case yet again), but this was apparently proven to be false on one of HLN's fuck and awe shows today.
A dude who weighed 250 apparently reenacted Jodi's described movements and not a thing moved, nary a shelf tipped much less broke under his weight.
My husband is really athletic and he's been maintaining all along it would depend on one's agility and balance regarding the whole shelf-would-tip/break theory, so he was delighted when this huge guy proved him right today.
We have lots of interesting debates around here, lol.
ETA: Hubby didn't realize they weren't the same type of shelves...I get to cause severe butthurt syndrome in him when he gets home from work, bwahahahahaha.

Who knew that HLN would have had such a limited budget for this! I've watched high school plays that had better sets! The tub was just a circle on the floor, the closet had no clothing, the shelving was not the same, the thpe of shelves in the real closet will not hold a person. The guy also put his hands on the shelf, there were no handprints on the real shelves so that would not have worked. Would it have been too much to ask to have painted the walls and to attempt the scenario in some sort of real time instead of slow motion? There is no way that Travis would not have caught up to her way before she could find the gun, remove the holster, aim and fire it. You would need the length of a football field to play the scenario Jodi describes. The whole HLN crime scene recreation was a huge disappointment. A big build up for nothing!
can i just say my dad is a sought after expert witness in the engineering field and he makes a lot more the $250 an hour - plus he is extremely honest and has never lied when he found fault w/ the ppl who hire him
