As bad as that re-enactment was, how much do you want to bet the defense uses some of what Baez said. It doesn't matter if it makes sense, they don't have much else.

It's possible. I know that JVM tends to being very over dramatic when it comes to the trial, with all of her pro-defense bullshit and idiots who never actually watch the trial would believe it. HLN definitely is guilty of unnecessarily ruffling feathers.

SuperJuan is ALL about the justice, not the money. He is obviously a brilliant attorney, and could make a lot more in private practice. He stays because he cares about justice.

I have thought that since so many of the media talking heads got burned on the Casey Anthony case (they were so sure she would be convicted and she wasn't) , they are trying to act as if the defense is doing a good job in this case.

Even if they were going through a divorce, why would someone call police to tell them someone like that if it wasn?t true. Just doesn?t make sense.

I wonder if a new test WAS issued and the results were unfavorable to JA? They couldn't hide the fact they did a new test could they? Or..maybe the good fake Doc was afraid what the results would show after she admitted being he murderess.

I don't think they issued a new test, but even if they did, it would still be based on Stabby's LIES (just different ones).

It would just change from "I was traumatized by ninjas" to "I was traumatized by killing Travis". Results based on lies are results based on lies. Plus, that test would be SO easy to cheat on. You would have to be a moron not to know which answers a traumatized person should give.

Lawyers also tend to round UP with their hours. I know when we've hired lawyers for stuff at work, they will charge 1 hour of time for a phone call, meanwhile the call would have taken 10 mins max.

I was charged over $6000 for a lawyer that I spent 20 minutes in person with and about the same on the phone. I lost my case before it even started... the dumb fuck didnt even stand when the judge walked in!! He didnt have any of the evidence with him, he didnt call the witnesses that I gave him. Nothing. I dont know what his hourly rate was supposed to be, but holy shit, if a lawyer can charge that kind of money with out actually having to do anything, I would imagine Nurmi is making a killing!

On a side note, appeals are great and not all lawyers are snakes. lol

Clearly Juan Martinez knows what he's doing. There were times when he had Stabbie on the stand and I thought, what is he talking about? One example is when he said to her "didn't you say Mr. Alexander cut your hands free with the knife?". As I was watching I thought, she didn't say that. Apparently she did say that to the quack but changed her story on the stand. Yesterday, it all made sense.

Gotta say I don't see the point of much more cross-exam of the doc...Martinez has pretty much discredited him already. Still don't see purpose of Def calling him as a witness in the first place, claiming PTSD and/or amnesia after the murder does nothing to bolster their self-defense claim and has nothing to do with whether she premeditated the crime.
I say it's a waste of time, time to move on...

So, our friend?s father is a gun expert ? he teaches gun training to police force here as well as civilians and also gives the CCW (concealed carry) classes here (although they aren?t required anymore).

We are looking at buying me a .22 handgun and were asking his advice, so out of curiosity I asked him about a .25 and just how much damage it can do. His major comment was that it is a good gun for a smaller person because it has almost no ?kick? (making it easy for accuracy) and will still ?drop? a person. When asked what would happen if you shot the person in the head within about 1-6 feet, he stated that a .25 is actually considered more dangerous in that aspect than many higher caliber guns. Why? Because it has enough power to initially penetrate the skull, but rarely enough to penetrate a second time ? causing it to generally bounce around in the head, causing potentially massive damage and then lodging internally.

The bullet was not able to exit Travis? head, and it is possible that it ?bounced around? in there, causing massive damage (the ME couldn?t verify due to decomp). That makes it highly unlikely that he could have gotten shot first and then done all the running around and struggling back against Jodi.

Just thought I?d share his insights. :)

The attempted murder I witnessed as a child was committed using a small caliber gun (I think it was a .22). Despite being a smaller gun, it did a huge amount of damage, and it is almost miraculous that the victim survived. These guns can still be plenty deadly, especially up close and personal.
