Wasn't it? Personally I'm not for the DP due to the arbitrary nature in which it is oft times applied/should even one innocent person be wrongly exectued. But, given that this is currently the law in AZ I stand behind fully behind JM and Travis' family, their choice to exact the penalty they choose. If anyone is deserving of the DP it is most certainly JA, though after reading this, I can't imagine anyone choosing this sentence over death. As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for.

I think if the attack had gone as planned, and all the "mess" was contained within the shower, then there would not have been her bloody palm print in the hallway with her blood mixed in, or her hair pulled out in a struggle. I also think if things had gone as planned, there would not have been a huge mess to try and clean up, and she would have been less frantic, and she would have remembered to either take the whole camera with her, or at least the memory card.

In that case, all the truly damning evidence against her would not have existed. She would have been a suspect, but I doubt they would get a conviction with the circumstantial evidence only. No matter how strong Travis' family was. I think there is a good chance she would have just gotten away with it.
True. And what if she took the camera (fingerprints on it) and camera bag (so they wouldn't look for a missing camera), what if she had not kept receipts (keeping them was stupid and an oversight on her part), what if everything was paid for in cash (would be no bank account trail).
If she became suspect due to his friend saying she was a stalker, the case would never have made it to this point without the evidence she left behind.

She got in way over her head. I totally believe that it was premeditated and she thought she had the whole thing perfectly worked out. She never believed she would be caught (luckily she did a crappy coverup job). That is why she didn't have a good/believable story for the cops. She thought she would outsmart everyone. What she obviously didn't account for was the fact that Travis wasn't going down without a fight. She probably thought whatever initial injury she was planning to inflict would kill him right away. Obviously it didn't and she got pissed. He fought back, and the more he fought the harder it was for her to NOT leave some sort of evidence behind. By the time he was finally dead she started panicking, frantically trying to clean, etc. she realized it was all too much for her to take care of and just got the hell out of there. She still must have thought that there wouldn't be any proof she was there or else she would have made up a better story. Of course NOW she's had years to come up with and rehearse a story. I only hope the jury doesn't buy it.

I was looking at crime scene photos...in particular the ones that show the box of copy paper with the water/blood staining....it appears that there must have been a decent amount of water to seep up that much on the carton...how is it possible that there are such large pools of blood still in that area if she cleaned up...

She made some money from this trade., Weddings etc. Travis looks agitated/ intense in this last portrait photo. Cover his mouth with your hands and just look at his eyes.

This signifies the following to me:

Pre-slaughter fuzzy photos in shower occurred either because she was arguing with him about taking her to Cancun and/or highly enraged and nervous/agitated because:

    1. She was not getting the answers she wanted
    2. She knew she was about to kill him.

This last headshot photo in-focus was her Goodbye to him. After this shot, she pulled the knife and began verbally threatening to kill him He called her, " a crazy fucking bitch". First fatal stab wound to the chest. And the slaughter continued....

Also know that Cancun is listed in the book "1000 Places to Go Before You Die". This was THEIR book, their travels, their romance, their life together. How could Travis even think of taking another woman to Cancun....? Not going to happen....not at all. Slit.
Yep. I always felt that book had a lot to do with the murder. It was THEIR thing, and she couldn't emotionally handle losing it and him forever.

Blood is 50 percent water. It spreads easily especially after multiple stab wounds and a fatal throat slit. She did not clean thoroughly. She couldn't. Too much blood everywhere due to the fury of her killing. Roommates return to the house was imminent. i believe she was in panic mode hence the reason why she left the memory card in the camera.

Here is another pic of Dennis (in better days, one assumes):

The hairline in this pic also seems very similar to the man you spotted in court.
That pic of court certainly looks like him and his wife next to him. The front row may have been full as far as to why they are sitting in the second row. I don't think that they are estranged anymore (just my opinion). I think that the tragedy has brought a majority of them together. Tanisha turned her life around, it looks like Dennis (I think he actually goes by his middle name, Greg) turned his around too.

Nah, I still think all roads would have led to Hoditown.

Me too. The fact that they brought her up in the 911 call is telling of how fast those roads would have lead to her.
She is her own worst enemy, she wouldn't have been able to keep her mouth shut, I don't think.

It DEFINITELY wouldn't have been as open and shut without all the evidence, but I think they might have still gotten her. I'd like to hope so, anyway.

People speculate that JA had wanted to get him sitting in the shower stall so that he was in a vulnerable position.....don't you think he was in a vulnerable position when he had his back turned to her and she was taking pictures of his back...he wouldn't have been able to see the knife coming at him or the gun....
I believe it was premeditated, I think she had been planning on killing him since she moved back to Yreka in April (she might have even had visions of it while she lived in Mesa)...but I wonder why she waited so long on that day...why didn't she do it while he was sleeping...just things I wonder...no one will ever know the truth of how things went down that day because even if she gets convicted and says "pkay, this is how it REALLY happened...."...who would believe yet another version of the story

Absolutely! I think that she still could have been charged. They wouldn't be going for the DP and because of that, her past stalker behavior would take center stage. Anything prejudicial would be fair game. Plus the fact that she stayed so long at his house before seeing Ryan, borrowing the gas cans from Brewer, Grandpa's 25 caliber.
(I think she shot him in the end- not because she had to, but because she went to all of the trouble of stealing the darn thing and dragging it all the way to Mesa)
Scott Peterson was given the DP on circumstantial evidence. I think they could have still nailed her on anything short of the DP. There was still plenty of means, motive and opportunity.

I am still convinced that the last photo of TA's face was the "Booya!" moment. She said something to him to piss him off. I am guessing she said something in the line of since he wasn't taking her to Cancun she was gonna share with the bishop their extracurricular activities. Wasn't it somewhere closely prior to June 4th that she had told everything to Rachel and she was encouraged to make arrangements to talk to the Bishop? Maybe that went in with the whole plan. Take me to Cancun or I'm gonna tell. This was TA's last chance to make good. He didn't bite so she killed him.

I have thought about this case a lot. My 1st thought was to juice the bitch. The more I see what a media/attention whore she is I think spending the rest of her life in a jail cell and be forgotten would be a pretty good punishment too. That is provided if the media would just leave her alone. But you all know, there will be a Lifetime Special, then Biography will do a one hour special on her life and yada yada yada...

    Confessing

I'm Mormon and I think what ppl don't understand is that it really wouldn't have been a huge deal had Jodi told his bishop. It's not like he would be thrown out or burned at the stake. He would go through repentance with the Bishop and himself but it defiantly isn't something that ruins your life. It's not even something that would be threatened. It just doesn't make sense. Ppl make mistakes and therefore they are able to repent. It's not like u are stood up in front of the congregation to confess what u did. There are things that u can do to be excommunicated but premarital sex isn't one of them

Wouldn't have kept her mouth shut?????? No, she wouldn't keep it shut in general, she'd be saying oh, no, not me, I wasn't there.

I was just reading that they may give the Colorado movie theatre shooter something called "narcoanalysis"......which is truth serum and a polygraph...and the reason given is..now get this...."the defendant's powerful incentive to lie, coupled with the inherent difficulty of disproving the authenticity of whatever symptoms he reports"...WOW sounds like someone we all know

Welcome! I am not a Mormon. Premarital sex is a no-no in just about every religion. That is why that aspect of her defense is ludicrous to me. (clarify: every aspect of her defense is ludicrous, but especially that part for me)

I'd still like to hear what she says if she decided to tell what really happened. As long as it fit the evidence. As far as her going after him when his back was turned-Maybe that wasn't a vulnerable enough position for her. Maybe he turned around too quickly? Lawd, who knows. I think that she didn't kill him in his sleep because of the roommates; and she wanted one last hurrah with him. Once she got there, she settled in. At the end, something was said and she remembered why she came.

That video of her in interrogation! Arrgh! Laughing and singing a stalker song....and sneaking through the trash on top of it. A perfect representation of character. On top of everything else she's done it is like the cherry on a sundae. So WHY is it considered "prejudicial" and inadmissable in court!?!? Because it mischaracterizes her testimony? Which is clearly lies from start to finish. Whatever.

At first glance, we said OMG. But look at it over and over, it was well thought out. This girl knew there was a camera ON!!! She did TOO MANY things to make herself look a little whacky.
