Back to the knife theory!
While an old fashioned straight razor "might" have worked to slash his throat, you could not stab someone with it. It is not pointy or sharp at the tip. Plus, because they fold up to close & encase the blade, it would have been super unstable for any motion that put pressure on the tip. Plus, a straight razor would not be long enough to make the throat slash in a single cut (which is what it appears to be).

It had to be a knife.

I would assume so. But, as the expert guy said on HLN yesterday (when they were discussing whether the knife could've gone through the dishwasher), that if it had gone through, any dna evidence would've been so degraded you probably couldn't get anything from it. Since I believe that she had her own very sharp knife -- hell she had a specific knife to slash tires with, a regular kitchen knife would NOT do that -- that she brought to the scene, it's very possible she either took it with her and cleaned/kept and it's one of the ones she was later arrested with, or she threw it out with the gun and bought/acquired 2 more knives. Someone said they believed she possibly took the murder knife from Casa Ramos, which being a restaurant would certainly have very sharp knives.

And it is such a POINTLESS lie. I can't see that insisting she only had 2 added to her defense in any meaningful way, yet she insisted on adding the stupid lie about returning the gas can to the Walmart in Salinas. However, if SuperJuan proves that the gas can story is a lie, after Stabby looked that jury right in the face and absolutely insisted with the utmost sincerity that she returned that gas can, then even any pro-Stabby member of the jury will have to know that she is a bold faced liar, and that NONE of her story can be trusted at all.

    Case over.
Well, she has to lie about that, because if she admits to 3 gas cans, then she indirectly admits that 2 were not enough to get through Arizona without having to stop and making a recordable transaction. I mean, it's one thing to say you have ONE gas can as an emergency in case you get lost or delayed and come close to running out of gas. Two cans is ridiculous, and 3 is just completely unbelievable. No one gets THAT lost that they have to have 15 extra gallons of gas in their car "just in case".

Could that be a last resort way of trying to check? If this happened to happen, the cashier would have to pay out of pocket that shortage and he/she would remember. Or at least someone would have noted that.
Yep. It would've been circled on the receipt and initialed by the cashier. They would want to make sure that someone didn't steal another can and try to return it for cash using the same receipt. Apparently Jodi thinks she's smarter than a major corporation like Walmart though. It would definitely be in the system.

Yep, same here. 2 butcher blocks actually. One with serrated-edge knives and one with the straight edge here. The only knives in my kitchen drawer are butter knives. Loony, I can take you a picture if you want.

If that's what she wanted to do she failed miserably considering she hit him in the face. The shot wasn't fatal.

Travis didn't own a straight razor. Jury questioned her on this and she said it was just a "bic", if you can believe her. Definitely believe she had the knife with her from CA and had used it to slash tires before. Maybe MM sharpened it for her.

The theory on the bullet was Juan's not the forensic folks. He simply asked if they see blood on top and they said no.

Like putting him OUT of misery was ever killer's thought. Like 27 stabs and slit throat show she is capable of any compassion, wow just wow.

Here are my knife blocks. As you can see, it is very obvious when knives are unaccounted for. If I didn't know they were in the dishwasher, I would easily be able to deem them missing.

All silver in the drawer; nary a stray knife.

In looking at what is available though from the knife set, I think this is likely the type that Jodi used. I think the ME said it was about a 6 inch blade.

I don't think Stabby cared one bit about putting him out of his misery, however, I do think the gunshot was last, and I do think she most likely did it because TA was "making noises" that she either found disturbing or infuriating ("die, damn you!!"). Possibly both. Someone struggling to breathe with their throat slashed all the way to the spinal cord would presumably make some very gruesome noises.

from the ME descripion of the wounds and the sizes 5 inches long(insized) and 1 1/2 inches wide the knife would be more like that of a pairing knife. The knife you show is at least 2 inches wide and would make a wound much wider than the ME's description especially going in and comming out.an insized wound can tell the ME a basic size of the knife

Too much tv maybe? The ME would not say, and said he couldn't say other than, 'it was a sharp instrument'.

As a survivor of a straight razor to a tendon, I could see it being used to go deep enough and smooth to be used in one clean slice across the neck. Since Jodi was packing knives before she was arrested, I wouldn't be surprised if she had one of those as well. That, along with the small gun would be easy to conceal.

I'm thinking she did the stabbing and the shooting to make it look like two people killed him. I'm guessing he could have lingered a bit after the stab to the heart, but I don't see him lasting that long, and definatelty not after that neck slash.
With the amount of stabbing plus the gunshot how would anyone suspect that one "120lb" woman could have done all of that?

Yes, I was looking at the empty house pics, and they were of the hallway. I'm still not clear if that is blood stain dripping down the walls, or if luminol caused them. Both seem possible.

Well, at least now we know what she is always furiously writing during the trial. I wonder when Wilmott's drawings will be released. Appears she has been doing an awful lot of drawing this trial.

scroll down a ways and you get the hall pics from the crime scene but I think a lot of the dripping you see in the empty house is from the luminol.

Exactly. Also Travis wouldn't have deep defensive wounds from a paring knife. She used a butcher knife or something very similar.
