People under 18 are not diagnosed as being sociopaths. They are diagnosed with conduct disorder. CD may turn into sociopathy without treatment, but it's not a forgone conclusion that it will.

I think they were scanned and someone digitally created new writing. They then printed the new document which they ran through a copier and then copied the copy several times.

I noticed the dirty feet too! Great minds and all...

I believe they did not go with the crazy defense because she was not crazy in the right way. The legal definition of insanity (for purposes of the insanity defense) is pretty narrow.

OMG!!! She's freaking LAUGHING when being interviewed about the murder of someone she supposedly loved - A murder SHE committed. She's LAUGHING?!?!?!?! That just sets me off more than anything. I mean, all of her physical behavior is weird, and the makeup obsession. But laughing....BITCH!!!

My sister and I were both young widows.....she lost her husband to hodgkins disease, when they were only 30 and 31. We have one other sister, who has been blessed with a long and happy marriage. My parents were married for 57 yrs. I remember one day, the whole bunch of us went out for lunch at a chinese buffet. It was about a year after I was widowed, and about 13 yrs for my sister..... Anyway, my mom was lamenting about how her brother's children were all divorced. "Every single one of Vic's children divorced! Paul has been divorced 3 times! And Janet...she is getting divorced for the 2nd time!! How awful!" I looked at my sister, and then said "Yeah, we don't divorce them in our family.....we just seem to have them all die on us!" I then looked at my brother-in-law, and remarked "Tom, you'd better watch your back...you are the only one left!!" I thought my parents were going to drop through the floor!! But my sister and I both got the joke, only too well. We were expressing the fact that it really sucked that we both had something so unfair happen to us. Humor doesn't necessarily mean making fun of something or laughing because something if funny. It's a tool to help turn something very horrid into something that is tolerable. It's a way of taking your power back from the event that robbed you of your laughter, in the first place. XOXO

Dr Robert Hare has done some great studies on juveniles and Psychopathy. Worth finding and reading.

Maybe this is her "What would Travis do?" moment, she claims in the 48 hours clip? Right before her "say CHEEEEEESE" mugshot??

i agree, my daughter's diagnosis pre-kindergarten was oppositional defiant disorder. now years later, she will be 20 this year, she has untreated anti social personality disorder. shes lived with my parents since she was 17. they are like cindy and george anthony. as she is a master manipulator, they refused to believe me and the dr's that there was something wrong, and took a "princess can do no wrong" approach and decided she was better off living at their house with no rules or accountability. After years and years that i put in trying to steer her down a path of personal accountability and trying to show her the difference between right and wrong.
I cringe everytime a case like this one and the casey anthony case comes up, because i know all too well, that my life could very well turn into this type of circus, all it would take is the right person telling my daughter something she does not want to hear at the wrong time...

I whole-heartedly think that she planned on killing Travis since the day she left Mesa. She stated that the day she left in the uhaul the last thing Travis did was flip her the double bird. He was probably so relieved that she was finally going far far away. I think her plotting started that very moment. I think she kept trying to reel him back in with "sex", be it pictures, text msgs or phone sex. I think on June 4th after the sex and photos he probably told her it was time for her to leave because he had things to do, like that business conference call with Chris Hughes and getting ready for his trip....she knew it was now or never.....evil personified!!!

    Exactly! Very well said.

I had HUGE trauma in my childhood, which it took years and years to try and work through. I still remember the first time I made a joke about it, and it was amazingly liberating. It was taking my power back. My very close friends who were present totally understood the joke, but I think the others present might have been shocked I would made a joke about something so serious (even if it happened to me).

I think it's so sad that on May 26th he texted her telling her she was evil and a sociopath and she was the worst thing that ever happened to him and then on June 4th he agrees to see her. I'd love to know how she weaseled her way into it. Promise of sex and a car payment? Still wouldn't have been worth it if he thought that way about her. Ugh that part bothers me.

I kind of wonder if she was doing this just for the camera...but she was crying moments before? Maybe this is her real true self. After all, I don't believe she was ever sad about murdering Travis. She was just bored and trying to entertain herself. Freak.

[Quoting Anniebelle: Sometimes, life get SO unbearably painful, that the only way to keep your sanity IS to laugh about it.]

I had a therapist tell me years ago that my sarcastic humor/gallow humor (or as my mother refers to it as "my sick sense of humor")is a coping mechanism that ppl use to deal with terrible things happening in their lives.
