You got it ;) But don't think I'm gonna waste more time on that one!

IMO-"Dick" Samuels is simply a story writer for the defense. 12 visits with Nurmi and JA should be enough to set her up with the "correct story" for its defense.

Who is Chauncy anyway? I've only seen her write a few rude posts in response to others, but I don't know if there's history there. Checked out her profile...It's funny, when you've nasty, you get a lot of visitors!

I hope the jury is as offended as I am with him using our great Service Men and Women and Police officers to try and explain this sociopath.

I know there are laws, preventing individuals from profitting off their crime....that's why I was wondering if that would apply to her (if she is convicted, that is!) Then again, Jodi will have "fans" who will surely donate to her candy and snacks fund, for sure!

I should say that there exists the Son of Sam law, which prevents criminals from profiting from their crimes. In some cases, it can be applied to friends and family of criminals, though I'm not sure exactly what the qualifications are for that.

Needless to say, no way would Jodi's paintings be fetching $1,000+ if she wasn't an admitted killer. So, she is definitely profiting from murdering Travis, but since she's not the one running the sales and accepting the money directly, there is some wiggle room. Enforcing the S.o.S. against Jodi's family though is definitely a possibility.

Yeah, I just about threw up when he spewed that bullshit out of his mouth. She seems to be pissing on just about everyone. Child abuse, Domestic Violence, True PTSD sufferers... who else?

They can profit. Surpreme Court shot down states trying to prevent profits. Arizona was one of the states that found a very clever way around it. : )

?Finding another way? ? the Gravano route
The constitutional hurdles imposed by Simon & Schuster, Keenan, Lerner and other court decisions are quite high. This may cause many states to follow the approach taken in Arizona in the case of ?Sammy the Bull? Gravano.

I can't believe that people actually buy this stuff? I would be watching for the anvil, over my head, or the lightning bolt to shoot out of the thundercloud. Baaaaaad karma.

I'm so tired of the defense dragging this trial out with IMO useless crap only meant to overload the jurors. I'm thinking at this point the jury is about half-past givashit with this foolishness and if anything the defense is digging a deeper hole for JA

She can't help herself, she is negative and bashes everyone! She can't speak of another human being without negative comments. Even her friend in the Flores interview she called flakey. There isn't one person she hasn't cut down in some way. Except her delusional vision of herself as some saint.

And, to be honest...it's really not that good. This is not just "Jodi hate"...the water color painting by Hitler is beautiful, and I am certainly a "Hitler hater". Someone once described her art as something you might see a somewhat advanced high school art student do. I think that is a good assessment. I showed my husband her art. He said it was much better than he would expect it to be, but didn't like the cartoony quality of her people drawings.

Whatev. If people are dumb enough to pay good money for her "art" then I guess they have that right. I really hope the Son of Sam law kicks in if she is convicted.

I'm sure that this judge is making darned sure to cross all of the t's and dot all of the i's......to lessen the chance of a successful appeal on any grounds, in the future. We can expect there will be many of them coming!!

Besides all this shit today and all the other days in court, I have to say, to me, it's crystal clear what Jodi's fate is.

Question: When did Dr. Dick say that he first interviewed her?

Absolutely! I wish I could be in the courtroom to see how the jury was reacting to this BS today.

No matter what the outcome of this trial.....being a strongly spiritual person, I'd guess that Jodi will not earn her angel wings for a long loooooooooooooooooong time. ;)

Found this on wikipedia in regards to the son of sam law:

In certain cases a Son of Sam law can be extended beyond the criminals themselves to include friends, neighbors, and family members of the lawbreaker who seek to profit by telling publishers and filmmakers of their relation to the criminal. In other cases, a person may not financially benefit from the sale of a story or any other mementos pertaining to the crime—if the criminal was convicted after the date lawmakers passed the law in the states where the crime was committed.

    also this:

After numerous revisions, New York adopted a law in 2001, again known as the "Son of Sam" law.[1] This law requires that victims of crimes be notified whenever a person convicted of a crime receives $10,000 (US) or more—from virtually any source.[2] The law then attaches a springing statute of limitations, giving victims an extended period of time to sue the perpetrator of the crime in civil court for their crimes.[3] This law also authorizes a state agency, the Crime Victims' Board, to act on the victims' behalf in some limited circumstances.[4] Thus far, the current New York law has survived constitutional scrutiny.

It appears it is not a clear cut situation...and may vary from state to state. Anyone have any idea what the rules in Arizona are?
