We can't really say whether this guy knows his stuff or not -- meaning whether he is a reliable witness -- because as others have said, psychology is highly subjective. There is no hard and fast way that every person is going to act in a given situation. He can claim whatever he wants and he can give his opinion on Jodi, but it's still a highly subjective opinion based on how he thinks a person would act in a certain situation and how they would then be affected by that situation.

There is nothing to say that this guy even believes what he is telling us, and we have no way to prove or disprove that. He could be giving an honest opinion and Jodi is just a good enough liar to fool him; or he could be just spewing what the defense wants the jury to believe.

I don't think this is a very good witness to hang their hat on -- in general, not necessarily him specifically -- because for every psychologist who says they believe Jodi and has PTSD, there is at least 1 psychologist who believes she's lying through her teeth.

And as far as the power points go, I don't see the point there either. Well, here's a brain structure and here is what would happen to a person if they were in Situation X, Y or Z. Okay great, do you have a brain scan of Jodi at the time she murdered Travis? No? Well then, you can only presume what brain activity was going on, and tailor that based on whether you think she's a liar or telling the truth.

Yes! This has been brought up quite a lot. I think her rage was nowhere near spent and she had new plans to kill. Same old methods too. Gruesome, huh?

The issue isn't whether PTSD can induce memory loss. It is can a person can fake memory loss - lie about fogs rolling in? How can a professional detect when a defendant is lying about memory loss? How can a juror? In these situations, common sense and evidence outweigh science.

She has fooled (or attempted to fool) everyone involved in this case since the moment she murdered Travis. This guy is no different. What he is testifying is true....but there is zippo evidence that Jodi fits into any of the categories he is describing. She was not trapped. She went in there, willingly. Stayed, willingly. Could have (and should have) left countless times. And, the fight or flight thing doesn't fit here.....because she committed a crime of rage and overkill. This was not self-defense. This was not out of fear or fight for her life. JM will tear this one to pieces.
